Second Life: Welcome to Gaia

The game population is increasing exponentially every day and the City of Ji is one of the cities that are receiving most of these players, making it become more and more lively. The diversity of races are increasing too, now a few days after the launch of the game, you can see various types of spirit beasts, elementals, beastman of different kinds, half-orcs, elvens, half-elvens, halflings, and fairies on the streets. The city's NPC population was made up of mostly humans, making it the race with most people at the moment the game was released, but now the elvens and half-elven are almost surpassing the number of humans because it is the preferred race of the players.

When Ye Yan left the Teleportation Hall, he was surprised by the difference that occurred in the game in just a few days, because even being night time now, the streets are full of people walking in every direction and the NPCs are adapting to this situation well, opening stalls in both sides of the street. He thought that he should look around these stalls some other time when he is free, but now he went to a corner and log out of the game.

Ye Yan got up from the bed feeling his whole body sore because he had been laying down for so long. So he stretched his body and went to the kitchen to eat and now, after almost 18 hours without food, he can eat almost anything.

"What happened that made you stay in the game for so long?" Tang Yunfan asked worriedly.

"My quest could only be completed at night, so I had to stay logged in and as I didn't know if I logged out before it, would interfere in the quest, I just waited there. I almost run out of time, but I get to complete my quest before I log out and got an amazing weapon too." He was feeling satisfied with his new weapon because it not only has incredible stats but is very cool as well. Ye Yan talked to his friends while getting some food from the fridge and didn't even waste time heating it, because hunger really is the best seasoning and it can even substitute the heating process.

"So are you a fighter now? I am in the last step of my quest now and I think that it will only need 3 more hours to complete. Little Ling is almost finishing his quest as well, but Second Brother will take a little longer because of his transformations. Heheheh, you can't use a bow with tiny paws, right?." Tang Yunfan is very excited that all of them are almost level 5 and completing theirs job change quests.

"Not yet." He made another pause to eat and spoke again. "I need to turn it in first."

"OK, ok! Eat first, you can talk later." They gave up trying to talk to him because he looked like someone that was on a hunger strike for days. They updated him about everything that has happened with them and their quests and about the last two party members that they had found. Afterward, he did some exercises and used the Home Broker to see how his investments are going and if there are some new ones that he could make. Ye Yan's money basically comes from the dividends paid by the companies that he has some shares. His mother used to invest in shares of many profitable companies and taught him everything, so he could earn some money himself. And this is what has helped him now because even when he didn't know what to do for a living, he at least had some extra income. It's not enough to make him rich but it paid his bills.

He used his desktop until late today because he had been in the game for too long before, so now he decided to wait until almost midnight to log in again. As the Stock Market operating 24/7 now, he can use his Home Broker at any hour to make investments. He prefers to use the good and old desktop to make this kind of operation than the modern device with a 3d projection that everyone is using now, same have a wristwatch format and others bracelet, etc. His desktop has a better security system than all the other devices that his friends or himself use because it works as a physical server too, Qian Zhong's idea.

At midnight, Ye Yan logs in the game again. He ran outside of the city and killed 20 slimes so he could finally level up again and reach the level requirement for completing the quest. Maybe if he came back before it, the Commander could give him another quest for him to complete before the job change. He was a little far from the Military Camp, so he walked around one hour to get there, and he went directly to where Xia Hou Lian was so he could finally complete his quest.

"Do you complete the assignment that I gave you?" Xia Hou Lian asked with a very serious face.

"Yes. The village has been attacked by devils that were kidnapping their residents, but I got to follow them through an array to their camp that was located in a strange and ominous place. I Killed the 15 [Legion Devil]'s that were in there and rescued the prisoners." He decided to describe everything, so the NPC wouldn't doubt him.

"You probably have followed them to the Underworld, that is the place where those dark creatures live. I would never think that they found a way to open portals to our world. I will bring this information to the Supreme General, so he will know what to do. Thank you, without this information, we would continue not knowing about those dark beings' activity." He went to a table in the middle of the tent that has some maps on it and started to write a letter. "Congratulations! You passed your test with honours and proved that you are a true fighter. This is a medal that symbolizes your status as a fighter." Xia Hou Lian put a badge on Ye Yan's left chest. The badge is silver with a sword and shield design and it looked like it is fixed in his chest.

"Here, show this letter in the Adventurer's Guild for them to register your new class. And these skills will help you reach new heights in your path as a fighter." He handed a letter and two skill books to Ye Yan. "I will report everything to the General now. You may go."

"Thank you. Now I will take my leave." Ye Yan puffed up with pride for finally become a fighter and went to the Adventurer's Guild to register.

The guild was full of people like always. ye Yan didn't waste time and went directly to the guards that stay in front of the stairs to ask where he should go to register his new class. Now that he became a fighter, the NPCs started to look at him in a better way and not as a nobody anymore. They lead him to the same room that he spoke to Qiao Qiuyue for the first time.

"Good! You have become a true fighter and not one more of those half-assed fighters out there. I knew that you have it in you before. Congratulations. This is the certification that you had job changed." She handed him a stroll with his data and some instructions on it. "But you have to remember that it is only the beginning of your journey and you are only an apprentice now. Work hard and you will soon be a professional in your job. And now that you have proven your worth to the guild, you can use this [Comunication Stone] to speak with others and you became eligible to take more serious tasks. Now go and help our Adventurer's Guild reach new heights."

"Thank you." Ye Yan went out in a transe. He never thought that after completing changed classes, he would gain so many stat bonuses. He is itching to test his new combat power now.
