Saving A Mermaid to Become My Love

Chapter 1: Sparkling Ocean Waves

Victory Beach always offers unusual views. The expanse of sparkling fresh blue sea is a feast for the eyes. As if meeting on the horizon with the contrast of the blue sky with white clouds resembling cotton.

The waves crashing against the rocks seem to bear witness that the Victory Sea holds a million secrets. From the sky the eyes can see seagulls flying in circles following the direction of the wind. As if enjoying the cool air around the beach which offers various stories in the ocean.

The view that can see from above the sky, the shadow of a mysterious figure swimming with dolphins. If you look closely, this mysterious figure is a creature from most myths that humans don't believe in. A beautiful mermaid with blonde hair who enjoys the ocean currents swims with a flock of dolphins.

The young mermaid did not seem worried about the danger that threatened her life. For her, this ocean is her home. A place to live that gives her the freedom to swim with other water creatures.

Her light blue tail and strong fins seemed to help her swim until she reached the Orange Crystal Lagoon. A lagoon where mermaids usually gather to enjoy time on the sea water.

This afternoon, the young mermaid swam to the surface of the lagoon to just breathe fresh air and enjoy the different conditions above the sea. Her wet blonde hair dripped with sea water through her temples until it fell on her curly eyelashes that shaded her blue eyes. As blue as the ocean which is the source of her life.

Her blue eyes saw how much her friends were enjoying the atmosphere this afternoon. Her long ears seemed to be able to hear the laughter of the mermaids as they collided with the crashing waves of the ocean.

Unfortunately, that happiness didn't last long. A ship with seven tall masts arrived, causing chaos around the lagoon. The young mermaid was surprised when she saw the pirates coming. Instantly, the sea that was so calm, now turned into a raging sea.

The waves rolled so high that they caused a storm in the ocean. The sounds of screams and roars were deafening. Several of her friends were lose, as she witnessed the inevitable fight in the middle of the lagoon. She wanted to run away, but the waves hit her on the rocks until the young mermaid was unconscious.

The waves managed to save her from the pirates. But a new problem brings the beautiful mermaid stranded on the shore. More precisely to the west of Victory beach. The young mermaid with a beautiful face opened her eyes when she felt a touch on her body.

How shocked she was when she realized that in front of her was squatting a human being who was looking at her with astonished eyes. Her lips were numb, as if she couldn't speak. Never before had she encountered a creature different from her kind.

The feeling of fear made her body tremble. But unfortunately, a man who was sitting staring at her reached out his hand. The man's lips curved into a friendly smile.

“So tell me, are you from the ocean?” said the man, his voice sounded so deep.

The young mermaid could only nod slowly. Her blue eyes almost shed tears because of the fear of being alone. She was separated from her flock of mermaids, so far away that she was on the edge of the coast like this.

“What's your name? Even though I know that it's impossible to find a mermaid like you. If I tell other people, then the whole beach will be noisy,” said the man, his voice still lowered.

“Don't! Don't tell people I'm a mermaid. My existence must not be known to humans, or else it will cause an uproar,” said the young mermaid in a depressed voice.

“Then how can I take you? Or do you want to return to the world where you live,” said the man, he questioned the decision of the mermaid he had just met.

“I was carried away by the waves. It's so far away at sea, even if I go back it will take a long time,” said the mermaid with that beautiful face.

“I'm Henry. I shouldn't be interested in helping you, but I think you need help,” said the man introducing his name.

“I'm not sure about accepting your help. But you can take me to protect myself. I'm worried that if I'm here, someone else might find me,” said the young mermaid in a trembling voice.

“So, how about I take you to my house? You can calm down there. But how can I take you in your condition like this?” Henry said, he fixed his gaze on the young mermaid's blue tail.

The young mermaid with a beautiful face followed Henry's gaze. She immediately understood what Henry meant. The young mermaid nodded, even though her feelings were still shrouded in doubt.

“I understand. You don't need to worry about this tail,” said the young mermaid.

“So can you change it to lighten me up a bit,” Henry said, he responded to the young mermaid's words.

The young mermaid nodded. She quickly rubbed her hands over its tail and fins, while her lips chanted a spell. Before long, the tail that was still visible slowly faded and was replaced by a pair of legs.

“You can turn your tail into a pair of legs? Impossible, this is the rarest sight I've ever seen before,” said Henry, he showed his astonishment.

“This ability is shared by all mermaids. They use it in critical moments, when stranded. I can't believe I'm going to use this spell,” the young mermaid said to Henry.

“You mean you've never done this?” Henry asked, he looked into the young mermaid's blue eyes.

“Never. And I don't want to do it again, if I could,” said the young mermaid, she looked down sadly.

The young mermaid looked down sadly, as if regretting what had happened to her. It was as if she no longer wanted to turn her tail into a pair of legs. It was an act she didn't want to repeat a second time.
