Running A Cemetery in North America

Chapter 211: The Third Guardian, Three Altar Sea Assembly Great God!

Returning to the Graveyard, despite having left for several days, the place remained as peaceful as when Sun Yan had left.

Elise was busy battling magical beasts in the room, while Sosia was exercising in the yard. It seemed she had purchased quite a bit of fitness equipment online during this period, and even with only one arm remaining, she was still persistently working out.

As for a method to restore Sosia's arms, Sun Yan was currently at a loss, and this matter would have to wait.

Perhaps one day, among the daily task rewards, there might be something that could help Sosia regain her arms.

Ailanda sat in the living room, elegantly reading a book, accompanied by a cup of black coffee, exuding a style reminiscent of a medieval noblewoman.

From Sun Yan's understanding, despite her youthful noble appearance, Ailanda was actually not young in age.

"You're back."

As Sun Yan walked into the main house, Ailanda, who was reading a book, raised her head gracefully and asked.

She looked very much like a lady waiting for her husband to return home.

"Yes." Sun Yan nodded slightly and, without saying much, headed straight towards the supply room.

This time, after completing two tasks with Lin Wan and the others at Chai Family Village, Sun Yan finally received two rewards as he wished.

One was the Mountain-Cracking Axe of the True Monarch of Pure Origin and Mysterious Dao, and the other was the exceedingly rare Tomb Guardian, of course.

Entering the supply room, besides the divine statues of the True Monarch of Pure Origin and Mysterious Dao and the Monkey King, there was now a new clay figure on the altar table.

Sun Yan, already familiar with the process, went forward to rub the clay shell on the figure's surface, loosening it and causing layers to begin falling off.

A divine statue soon emerged from within the clay shell.

It was a figure like a child carved from pink jade, adorably chubby, with two buns on its head, a red bib, white and clean hands and feet, and a pure, innocent smile.

'You have drawn the Tomb Guardian—the Three Altar Sea Assembly Great God.'

Tomb Guardian: Three Altar Sea Assembly Great God (Ordinary)

Assistance Divine Power: Dragon Slayer Child (Innate Giant Strength, Fighting Ferocious Beasts)

——

"Three Altar Sea Assembly Great God!" Sun Yan's face was instantly filled with astonishment.

He had previously discussed with Lin Wan that the probability of drawing strong immortals as a Tomb Guardian was not high, especially those good at magical combat; they were even more rare.

To draw even one would be considered a blessing from one's ancestors, let alone having three like Sun Yan.

Anyone familiar with Eastern mythology would know the combat exploits of the True Monarch of Pure Origin and Mysterious Dao, the Monkey King, and the Three Altar Sea Assembly Great God.

An ordinary Tomb Guardian receiving even one would be enough to take on high-difficulty tasks alone.

And in Sun Yan's graveyard, such powerful immortals numbered a full three!

The "Three Altars" is a Daoist term referring to the realms of heaven, earth, and water, i.e., sea, land, and air.

The "Sea Assembly" is a Buddhist term referring to the gathering of holy beings, likened to the vastness of the sea, deriving from the Buddhist Scripture "Flower Adornment Sutra". Commentators of Buddhist scriptures say: "The sea symbolizes vast virtue, numerous gatherings." Thus, the gathering of many eminent monks became known as the Sea Assembly.

Zhao Puchu, in his "Visiting Yungang Grottoes and Huayan Temple," wrote, "It seems like the Sacred Mountain gathers a Sea Assembly, disciples sitting, standing, speaking, silent, sad, or joyful," reflecting this meaning.

The Zen Sect, building on the original meaning, explained Sea Assembly as monks coming to a temple for cultivation, akin to rivers flowing into the sea, where both destination and purpose are the same. Thus, monks gathering for temple cultivation got termed "Sea Assembly."

The Three Altar Sea Assembly Great God signifies a great god possessing the realms of heaven, earth, and water, akin to the Sea Assembly's power, understood as Nezha commanding the immense forces of sea, land, and air, with boundless might.

As the Celestial Might God leading an army of a hundred thousand Celestial Soldiers and Generals, Nezha's possession of commanding military power, exuberant sophistication, and supreme authority is symbolized, highlighting his intense strength.

According to mythological stories, when Li Jing of Chentang Pass destroyed Nezha Temple's Dharma Body in the past, only relying on the Exquisite Pagoda could suppress Nezha.

Should Li Jing lose the pagoda one day, the Three Altar Sea Assembly Great God would probably instantly wreak havoc, its severity betraying little comparison to the Monkey King's past hullabaloo at the Celestial Palace.

"Goodness, one suppressed by the Exquisite Pagoda, one claiming the achievement of wreaking havoc in Heaven, one living at Guanjiangkou disobedient to authority, my graveyard has assembled three rebellious great gods." Sun Yan couldn't help but think to himself.

Just as this thought emerged, the space in the room suddenly revealed the figures of Yang Jian and Sun Wukong, bending over the altar table contemplatively to gaze at the statue of Nezha.

"This guy actually came too, little brother, there's a problem with your home's feng shui."

The Monkey King scratched his chin, utterly puzzled, "Wasn't this guy already annihilated back then? Could it be that the lotus was so tenacious, that even such circumstances couldn't topple it?"

The True Monarch of Pure Origin and Mysterious Dao remarked indifferently, "We still retain a trace of transformation, so what's strange about Nezha's return? His arrival makes things much more secure."

"The pressure on the little brother is too great. As a mortal, how could he locate so many magical treasures we used in our lifetimes? The fact that you could return to such a form is already extremely fortunate; for the likes of me, it requires personally sensing the presence of magical treasures to return similarly."

"Perhaps there is divine providence at work, but it seems that my disciple is someone destined for relations with us, possibly able to stir the grand trends of the future," the True Monarch of Pure Origin and Mysterious Dao nodded in satisfaction.
