Running A Cemetery in North America

Chapter 164: The Truth Behind Amnesia, the True Angel (Part 3)

Angel... The problem definitely lies with the angel.

With this thought, he immediately recorded all the clues he had gathered into his phone's memo, just in case an accident happened.

Based on the morning's behavior of Yamashita Kojirō, Sun Yan had reason to believe that he had inexplicably lost a memory without his knowledge.

And this memory was crucial. To prevent himself from forgetting what happened tonight, Sun Yan chose to keep a written record as a backup.

"Mr. Jack, what are you doing here?"

At that moment, a calm inquiry suddenly came from outside the room.

Sun Yan turned around to see the old housekeeper Xia Da quietly standing at the door, his eyes coldly fixing on him with a smile.

Sun Yan shivered in an instant, feeling a tearing pain in his chest.

Looking down, he saw a slender arm, seemingly ethereal, pierced straight into his chest, clutching his heart.

"Mr. Jack, since you've seen things you shouldn't have, I can't leave you alive any longer. Goodnight."

The old housekeeper Xia Da's face twisted into a grotesque smile, and he raised his hand, preparing to make a fist.

At that moment, the Mo Lihai Dharma suddenly appeared behind Sun Yan, playing the Jade Pipa in a void. Xia Da had no chance to react before blood spurted from his orifices, and he fell to the ground with an expression of disbelief.

"Trying to kill me? What ignorance," Sun Yan thought disdainfully.

The wrenching pain in his chest disappeared completely at that point, evidently indicating that the old housekeeper had some mysterious art capable of killing from afar.

If not for Sun Yan's superior skills, he would have been in great peril this time.

He moved to pull the old housekeeper Xia Da into the room, then crouched down to search his body, unbuttoning Xia Da's clothes.

Sun Yan's face instantly turned to shock, revealing an expression of disbelief.

He saw that the old housekeeper's back had been carved out into a hollow chest cavity.

The insides of his body were completely empty, with no organs, blood vessels, or flesh remaining.

Only a spine was left, looking extremely horrifying. This old housekeeper had been dead for a long time.

"The situation in this ancient castle is far beyond my imagination, but no matter what you are, I have no intention of playing any more of your riddle games."

Sun Yan stood up, and the Mo Lihai Dharma behind him, lifelike, began to destroy everything in the room at Sun Yan's command.

Whether it was an oil painting or a sculpture, everything was obliterated under the destruction of Mo Lihai.

Crack!

Just as Mo Lihai smashed an angel sculpture with his pipa, the whole room made an odd cracking sound.

Then, the wall slowly opened, revealing a hidden door behind it.

In Sun Yan's eyes, an air of malevolence surged out.

Revealing a corpse suspended by chains, its feet off the ground.

To be precise, instead of a corpse, it looked more like a monster.

It had six wings spreading in different directions, and from the roots of those wings grew four heads: bull, eagle, lion, and human.

If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, Sun Yan would definitely think this thing was some art piece assembled by a performance artist.

But now, upon closer inspection, Sun Yan was sure that the truth was evidently not so.

This corpse before him was once a living creature.

"Wisdom Angel..." Sun Yan murmured, utterly shocked.

He couldn't believe that he would see a real angel in Ymir Castle.

In the Hebrew Bible, now the Old Testament, there's a description of Blazing Angels, Wisdom Angels, and Throne Angels.

These angels are not the holy images people commonly recognize today, with a pair of white wings on their backs.

But are incomparably bizarre.

Blazing Angels, for instance, have six wings and eyes all over their bodies.

Wisdom Angels appear as the monster Sun Yan was seeing now.

Throne Angels look like four overlapping rings, interlocking and rotating, covered with at least a hundred eyes.

Such eerie and terrifying appearances truly represent the image of angels.

The Wisdom Angel that Sun Yan was staring at had long withered, with most of the corpse beginning to decompose, revealing snowy-white bones.

Although it was unclear where Balian found this Wisdom Angel's corpse, hiding it in this secret room certainly had ulterior motives.

Sun Yan pulled a feather from the Wisdom Angel's body and slipped it into his pocket, then turned around and shut the door behind him.

He searched throughout the castle but couldn't find a single person; even when he went to the rooms of Zhao Chuan Yi, Black Brian, and Shen Sanjing, there was not a sign of anyone.

It seemed as if Sun Yan was the only one left in the entire castle.

Just as he intended to return to his room, footsteps on the first floor caught Sun Yan's attention.

He quickly went to the railing and looked down, witnessing a scene that shocked him beyond words.

In the lobby on the first floor, five people were sitting on the sofa.

One of them... was himself.

"How can we leave this place? We've been searching here for countless hours, but found nothing. What exactly is Balian planning?"
