Running A Cemetery in North America

Chapter 155: Cemetery Building - Abandoned Church (Part 3)

Amidst the astonished cries and the too-late attempts to stop her, Tina had already sprinted out of the church with agility, rifle in hand, charging towards the approaching living dead.

"Oh, my God, Tina, what are you doing? You're courting death!"

"What on earth is wrong with this child, doing something so reckless?"

Under the incredulous gaze of everyone, Tina fearlessly wielded the rifle like a spear and thrust it at one of the living dead.

"Roar!"

The living dead let out a mindless roar, swinging its claw-laden arm straight at Tina's chest.

Many people, upon witnessing this scene, covered their eyes for fear of seeing Tina being brutally slaughtered.

But in that instant, Tina deftly dodged away, simultaneously jamming the barrel of the gun into the mouth of the living dead.

She did not pull the trigger but forcefully drove the gun barrel through its skull, instantly ending the life of the living dead.

At this moment, Tina seemed almost like the War God descending, even when surrounded by the living dead, she displayed extremely adept combat skills.

Almost every move resulted in the snapping of a living dead's neck on the spot.

The expressions on everyone's faces were completely stunned; with Tina's combat prowess, she was no less powerful than Sosia, the experienced werewolf demon hunter.

Minutes later, dozens of living dead lay motionless on the street, either with their necks broken by Tina or with their heads pierced by her rifle.

She, covered in blood, slowly walked towards the church, her aura fierce, and the townspeople couldn't help but step back slowly, their expressions very complex.

In their eyes now, Tina seemed like a different person altogether.

Strange, powerful, terrifying.

"Is this the power that comes from a deal with nameless deities? Indeed direct and substantial. With such divine power at their disposal, which believer wouldn't believe the divine spirit truly exists? This in turn greatly enhances the faith in the nameless deities."

Standing beside the statue, Sun Yan looked at the somewhat dazed Tina and couldn't help but think with satisfaction.

Though the church housed a nameless deity, it is said that invoking the divine spirit inevitably leads to mental fatigue; an ordinary body simply cannot withstand divine power.

Thus, although Tina had gained formidable strength just now, as the borrowed divine power dissipates, her physical state would likewise weaken for a period of time; this is normal.

"Divine spirit, there is a real divine spirit in this church. It was the divine spirit manifesting just now that lent me the strength to destroy those monsters."

As she walked into the church, Tina revealed a heartfelt smile, full of joy.

Having been on edge for so long in Gospel Town, she finally glimpsed a bit of hope for survival.

As long as she believed in that divine spirit, she could be spared the harassment of those monsters.

"Divine spirit?"

Upon hearing this, everyone immediately looked towards the marble statue.

Since entering this church, they had not truly paid attention to the appearance of the statue; now, looking at it, they realized it was not Jesus.

But a new divine spirit they had never seen before.

"My God, when did this statue appear in the church?"

"We've never seen it before; should we pay our respects?"

People talked amongst themselves, all beginning to hesitate. Gospel Town still held a deep faith in the church, even if the church hadn't been rebuilt after the fire.

Elderly people in the town still believed in God.

But now, witnessing such miraculous feats through Tina, they couldn't help but feel a sense of reverence for this new divine statue they had never seen before.

Sun Yan, standing silently aside, then showed a mysterious smile.

[Unowned Deities: Transaction Level 1 (When a transaction is made with a believer, it can activate triple the believer's own combat power)]

The voice Tina heard just now was exactly what he had initiated with her.

At the moment Tina agreed to the transaction, Sun Yan used the only power currently available to the unowned deities on her, stimulating her combat potential.

Thus, she was able to rely on her own body to accomplish the feat of eliminating all the living dead outside the church.

But this also consumed all of Tina's stamina, leaving her unable to move for a while.

However, this performance was enough to attract the other townspeople. Surely, as long as Gospel Town remained chaotic, it wouldn't be too difficult to convert them into believers one by one.

"Alright, this place is now safe. Everyone can stay here at ease. I'll have my employees stay to protect you, and with Tina, surely those living dead won't be able to harm you anymore."

Sun Yan said to all the townspeople, arranging for Sosia to stay temporarily, then leaving the church and returning to the graveyard ahead in the Look Up U8.

He and Sosia could be considered the two strongest fighters in the graveyard; with both of them now away, Sun Yan was a bit uneasy about the situation in the graveyard; someone still needed to stay as a guard.
