Chapter 149: Exorcist Association, Special Operations Squad
Boom!
At the moment the fiery tail struck the Sheep's Eye Tree, a tremendous blaze erupted, with thick smoke rolling upward, rushing out of the valley.
It was an RPG shot by someone unknown!
The Sheep's Eye Tree convulsed, and raging flames began to burn on its trunk.
Sun Yan looked up to see a small team standing on the edge of the cliff at the valley's top, each of them holding RPGs, launching attacks one after another on the Sheep's Eye Tree.
The Sheep's Eye Tree became furious, shaking its branches, and the trunk grew increasingly massive, gradually expanding outward.
Watching as the tree roots overturned the ground like a stampede of beasts, Sun Yan had no time to cover the rear and quickly turned to run.
If he got caught in this, there would likely be nothing left of him.
Under the pressure of life-threatening danger, Sun Yan's adrenaline surged, giving him an unexpected burst of speed, catching up with Sosia and her group.
"Who are those people? They don't seem to be from the Morolick Clan."
Sosia looked back at those firing RPGs above the valley and couldn't help but ask.
"Now's not the time to worry about that. Let's get out of this hellish place first," Sun Yan said as he quickened his pace, pushing his stamina to the limit.
Under the destruction of the Sheep's Eye Tree, the entire valley began to shake and sway, showing signs of imminent collapse.
Soon the valley's entrance appeared in front of them, and seven jeeps drove in from outside, all loaded with fully armed special forces personnel.
Noticing Sun Yan and his group, one of the jeeps immediately stopped.
A bearded black man got out of the car and called to Sun Yan, "Hey! I can't believe you guys managed to escape from the Morolick Clan. That's some luck you have."
"And you are?" Sun Yan looked at the man suspiciously, to be honest, he didn't recognize him.
"Exorcist Association, Special Operations Team Three Commander, Carl."
The black man flashed a white-toothed smile, "A few days ago, I saw your car heading into Gold Mine Town. We initially planned to warn you, but the Morolick Clan's sentinels struck first. Seeing those Blood Race members drag you into the valley, I thought you were done for."
Sosia frowned, "So you've been hiding around Gold Mine Town, secretly watching the Morolick Clan?"
"Of course."
Smith instantly asked excitedly, "Then why didn't you take action against the Morolick Clan earlier? Do you know how many innocent people have been killed since they hid here?"
Carl shook his head calmly, "Sir, protecting civilians is something the state government should consider. Our Exorcist Association's purpose is only to find out what those things are up to in secret. Everyone has their own duties, right?
If it wasn't for the strange incident with the Morolick Clan, we wouldn't have shown up now. There's no point talking about it; this place is dangerous, you should leave quickly. If that tree causes more havoc, I can't protect you."
Sun Yan asked, "How much do you know about that Sheep's Eye Tree?"
"That's not something you should ask, sir. By the looks of you, you should be exorcists too? But I can tell you for sure, what you're dealing with this time far exceeds any evil spirit you've encountered before. It's not something lone agents like you can handle. Take my advice and leave quickly."
The black man returned to the car and kindly advised, "After exiting the valley, keep heading east, and you'll see a bus stop sign. If you're lucky, you can catch a bus back to the city there."
The jeep swiftly departed, heading deeper into the valley.
"The Exorcist Association, isn't that the organization Jet, Roken, and the others belong to?" Sosia said curiously, "It seems the real situation of this organization is far beyond our imagination. They have a military-style preparation against the Evil God."
"Who knows what the relationship is between this organization and the Evil God Council."
Sun Yan shook his head, dismissing the thought of wanting to see how the Exorcist Association would deal with the Sheep's Eye Tree.
He quickly urged everyone to continue fleeing out of the valley. At this point, it was better to keep their lives and leave this troublesome place quickly.
Exiting the valley, following Carl's directions, they walked east and luckily found a simple road, spotting an old road sign by the side.
The moment they stepped onto the road, everyone couldn't help but breathe a long sigh of relief.
Luo Wei plopped onto the ground, exclaiming, "It's hard to believe that I managed to escape alive. Thank God, thank you Mr. Jack, and Ms. Elise."
If Sun Yan hadn't come to her rescue, Luo Wei might have died at the hands of those two Blood Race members.
Even if she didn't die, the best outcome would have been becoming a Bloodline for the Blood Race, a fate no better than becoming livestock.
Now having successfully escaped alive, Luo Wei felt the beauty of life for the first time.
"I wonder if Carl and his team can handle that Sheep's Eye Tree. If it manages to escape, it might cause huge trouble across North America," Smith said, looking back in the direction they came from, his expression somewhat worried.
