Chapter 44: Give the Leeks a Bit of Fertilizer
Zhang Tuohai’s cooking skills were quite good; the four dishes were quickly prepared.
As for the staple food, without rice, he could only make a bowl of hand-pulled noodles.
The sauce from the braised intestines mixed with the noodles was simply delicious.
Zhang Tuohai slurped down two bowls of noodles and devoured most of the four dishes before contentedly lying back in his chair, rubbing his full belly.
This was the most satisfying meal he had since arriving in this world.
He was so pleased that he didn’t even take time to check the regional channel.
After eating and having nothing else to do, Zhang Tuohai finally opened the regional channel to see what he could collect.
As soon as he opened the channel, several private messages popped up.
To his surprise, they were all from the Su sisters, Su Mu and Su Qi.
Su Qi had the most messages—six in total.
“Let me tell you something. Today we collected a lot of tableware, and some of it is silver! You can tell from the carvings that it must have been used by nobles. Do you want some? I can give you a discount since we know each other.”
“Today was really unlucky. We parked by the roadside, and someone jumped down, leaving two footprints on our car’s roof. I was so mad! I wanted him to pay, but he just said he’d definitely compensate next time. With so many people around, where am I supposed to find him? I tried to chase him, but he ran off so quickly, he disappeared in the blink of an eye. I wish him a lifetime of instant noodles without seasoning packets, potato chips that are all crumbs, and hollow sunflower seeds, not to mention half a worm in his apples!”
Zhang Tuohai wiped the sweat from his forehead and continued reading.
“Handsome guy, where’s our lunch?”
“Food, food, I’m starving!”
“Where’s my food? I’m about to starve to death!”
“If I starve to death, I’ll come back as a vengeful ghost to find you.”
The above messages were all from Su Qi.
Su Mu had only one message, asking Zhang Tuohai if he had a way to repair the dents on their car, along with a list of supplies they could sell.
The list included some clothes, porcelain, silver utensils, and so on.
The prices were all quite cheap, just a few units of level 1 materials.
Feeling a bit guilty, Zhang Tuohai quickly cooked two more bowls of noodles and divided the remaining four dishes onto plates to send to the two of them.
“Why is today so lavish? Did you hit the jackpot?” Su Qi asked curiously.
“Yeah, got my hands on some good stuff, thought I’d celebrate. By the way, here’s something for you. It can repair all the damage to your car; you decide whether to use it.”
Zhang Tuohai sent them a car repair kit.
“Wow, a car repair kit? I remember it takes quite a bit of resources to make one. Why are you being so generous and giving this away? How much do you want for it? I can gather the materials needed to make it and give them to you.”
Su Qi replied.
This kit had originally been sold to him by Su Mu in exchange for a crossbow, so Su Qi knew exactly what materials were required.
“Forget it, you’re not exactly swimming in resources. Just consider it an experiment. It’d be even better if you could help me pull in a few clients.” Zhang Tuohai said, feeling a bit guilty.
After all, it was his fault for damaging their car, so this repair kit could be seen as compensation.
“Alright, I’ll ask around on the channel. If anyone’s car breaks down, I’ll introduce them to you. Feel free to take advantage; they’re not my friends anyway.” Su Qi readily agreed.
Once he dealt with the Su sisters, Zhang Tuohai began browsing the regional channel.
He noticed that the death toll today was also quite high.
At least twenty people had died from staying too long in the toxic zone.
However, more had died at the hands of “teammates.”
The number of dead exceeded 200, with many more injured.
The regional channel was filled with requests for medicine.
Zhang Tuohai had long anticipated this situation.
In a post-apocalyptic world where rules and constraints had vanished, people’s negative desires would gradually be released.
Hunger and scarcity of supplies intensified this emotional release.
Normally, players wouldn’t mind not meeting face-to-face.
Now, throw them into a city ruin with all sorts of supplies, and it was easy to imagine what would happen.
Just looking at those who chased him gave a clue.
Robbery and murder were likely just the basics.
If they encountered women or handsome men, they might suffer unimaginable torment.
There wasn’t much Zhang Tuohai could do for these people.
All he could do was put up the various weapons he had collected in the morning.
At the same time, he reopened his service for producing anti-inflammatory medicine.
He didn’t know how many people these items could help.
At least, he felt at peace with himself.
Zhang Tuohai listed these items on the trading platform, immediately causing a stir.
“Wow, the big shot is indeed impressive! He just put up so many weapons on the platform all at once.”
“Hey big shot, do you have any axes left? I was just a bit too slow and they got snatched up. Could you list a few more?”
“Did anyone notice? The weapons the big shot put up only have a few of each, except for the hunting spears, which are listed in bulk.”
“What does this mean?”
“It means that the hunting spear is the only weapon the big shot can produce in bulk; the rest must have come from others!”
“At a time like this, who would sell their own weapons? Wait, does that mean they all got killed by the big shot?”
“The big shot is amazing! He was able to kill so many people.”
“Big shot, can we make a deal? Please don’t kill me. I’ll absolutely avoid the area where you show up this afternoon.”
“To kill so many people is simply brutal! Shouldn’t we players unite to face the disasters together? I propose we band together to bring this murderer to justice and reclaim a peaceful space for everyone.”
This statement was clearly made by Fan Mingkun.
Hardly anyone responded to Fan Mingkun’s foolish comments.
The weapons Zhang Tuohai displayed were enough to explain the situation.
He had killed so many people this morning; it was obvious that ordinary people were no match for him. Normal folks would want to avoid him; only a fool would seek confrontation.
Fan Mingkun’s idiotic remarks were soon drowned out.
“Big shot, do you have any food? Can you sell some? I’ve been searching all morning and found plenty of junk, but not a single bite to eat.”
“Hey, I found a supply box and got a pack of instant noodles. Big shot, can you get me some hot water? I’ll trade double for cold water.”
“Big shot, do you have anything with oil? Bread isn’t filling at all; the little bit I ate this morning is long gone. Please, anything with oil will do, even just oil dregs!”
Looking at the messages in the regional channel, Zhang Tuohai thought for a moment and listed 100 units of oil dregs.
He posted so many out of fear that these people might die too quickly.
If they all died, who would be left to collect things for him?
When you see leeks, you can’t just bring out the sickle; you need to fertilize them a bit too.
