Chapter 61: Control And Possession.
The next morning, Carlson woke up with a new-found sense of determination. He couldn't shake off the memory of Rita's angry face and the hurt in her eyes. He knew he had something to make things right to prove to Rita that he still loved her and was committed to winning her back.
As he lay in bed, he started thinking of new plans, new strategies to draw Rita close to him again. He thought about sending her flowers, or writing her a heart-felt letter, but he knew that wouldn't be enough. He needed something more, something that would show Rita that he was serious about rebuilding their relationship.
And then, it hit him. A plan that seemed almost too simple, yet too brilliant to ignore. He would employ a private secret security officer to monitor Rita's movements and update him on her daily activities. That way, he could keep tabs on her, find out what she was doing, who she was seeing, and plan his next move accordingly.
Carlson's face lit up with excitement as he thought about possibilities. He could use the information to his advantage, to find ways to "accidentally" show up at the same places she frequented. He could use the information to wear her down, to make her see that he was still the man she loved.
With a new-found sense of hope, Carlson threw off the covers and got out of bed. He quickly got dressed and made his way to the kitchen, where he poured himself a cup of coffee and sat down at the table.
As he sipped his coffee, he pulled out his phone and started searching for private security companies in the area. He found a few options and started making calls, asking for references and quotes.
Within an hour, he had found a company that seemed reputable and efficient. He hired them on the spot, giving them a detailed description of Rita and her daily routine.
As he hung the phone, Carlson felt a sense of satisfaction wash over him. He had taken the first step towards winning Rita back, and he was confident that it would only be a matter of time before she came crawling back to him.
As Carlson sipped his coffee, he waited for the private security officer he had hired to arrive. He had chosen Lucas Ross and Mason Lee, two highly recommended operatives from a reputable security firm.
Lucas Ross was a former marine, with a rugged, no-nonsense demeanor. Mason Lee, on the other hand, was a tech expert, with a quiet, analytical approach. Together they made a formidable team. Carlson's phone buzzed, signaling the arrival of Lucas and Mason. He got up to let them in, and they entered his hotel room with a professional air.
"Good morning, Mister Carlson," Lucas said, his deep voice firm. "We understand you have a job for us. "
Carlson nodded, gesturing for them to sit." Yes, I do, l need you to monitor a woman named Rita. She is my wife, who left me some months ago, and she is currently staying with her parents. I need to know her movements, her schedule, everything."
Mason's eyes narrowed slightly. " And what's the purpose of this surveillance? Mister Carlson?"
Carlson's smile was smooth. " Let's just say I want to make sure she is safe. And I need your help to do that."
Lucas and Mason exchanged a brief glance, before nodding in Union. " We are on it, Mister Carlson, "Lucas said. We will keep you updated on Rita's movements."
As they left the house, Carlson felt a sense of satisfaction. He had taken the first step towards winning Rita back, and he was confident that Lucas and Mason would help him achieve his goal.
As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, Rita found herself settling into a new routine. She finally decided to go back to campus to finish her law degree, a dream she had put on hold when she got pregnant during her course.
Now that she had delivered her baby, Rita was determined to make her dreams come true. She wanted to become a successful lawyer, to make a name for herself in the legal profession, and to provide a better life for her future children.
Rita threw herself into her studies, determined to make up for the last time. She spent long hours poring over textbooks, attending lectures, and participating in discussions. She was determined to excel, to prove to herself and others that she was capable of achieving her goals. As she walked across campus, Rita felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. She was finally doing what she had always wanted to do, and she was due to see it through.
Despite the challenges she faced, Rita remained focused and driven. She knew that becoming a lawyer wouldn't be easy, but she was willing to put in the hard work and dedication required to achieve her dreams.
As the months went by, Rita began to notice changes in herself-she was more confident, more self-assured. She had a new-found sense of purpose, and she was determined to make the most of it.
But little did Rita know, her newfound happiness and determination were about to be put to the test. Carlson, her husband, was still watching her from the shadow, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And Lucas and Mason, the private secret security officers he had hired, were still monitoring her every move, reporting back to Carlson with every detail.
Carlson sat in his living room, sipping a glass of whiskey as he waited for Lucas and Mason to arrive. He had been waiting for what felt like an eternity, his mind racing with anticipation.
He had hired Lucas and Mason to investigate Rita, to find out everything.
As he waited, Carlson's mind wandered back to Rita. He thought about the way she used to smile at him, the way she used to laugh at his jokes. He thought about the way she used to live with him, and the way he had thrown it all away.
