Chapter 46: Unanswered Questions.
First, he employed a housekeeper named Angelina. She was a middle-aged woman with a warm smile and a kind demeanor. Leonardo was impressed by her references and her experience of taking care of children.
Next, he hired a babysitter named Joseline. She was a young woman with a bubbly personality and a love for children. Leonardo was confident that she would be perfect for taking care of Krista.
Leonardo sat down with Angelina and Joseline to discuss their tasks and responsibilities. "Angelina, I need you to take care of the house chores, including cooking and cleaning," he said.
Angelina nodded, her eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. I will make sure everything is spotless, sir."
Leonardo turned to Joseline. " Joseline, I need you to take care of Krista's needs, including feeding, bathing, and putting her to bed."
Joseline smiled, her face lighting up with excitement. I will take good care of her, sir. Don't worry."
Leonardo smiled, feeling a sense of relief wash over him. He knew that with Angelina and Joseline on board, he could finally focus on his career and provide a stable home for Krista.
As the days went by, Leonardo noticed that Krista was thriving under Joseline's care. The baby was happy and healthy, and Joseline was like a second mother to her.
Angelina, on the other hand, was a whirlwind of activity, keeping the house spotless and cooking delicious meals for Leonardo and Joseline.
Leonardo was grateful to the two women in his life. They had brought stability and joy to his home, and he couldn't imagine life without them.
As days turned into weeks, Leonardo settled into a comfortable routine with Krista, Angelina, and Joseline. He spent his days working from home, taking breaks to play with Krista and watch her grow.
As Leonardo walked into the hospital, with his white coat and stethoscope, he noticed familiar sights, his colleagues couldn't help but notice the change in him. It had been a few months since he adopted Krista, and the renowned cardiologist seemed more relaxed and happy than ever before.
" Leonardo, you are beaming!" His nurse, Porter exclaimed as he scrubbed in for surgery. "Fatherhood really agrees with you "
Leonardo smiled, his eyes crinkling in the corner."it's just Krista, Porter. She has brought so much joy into my life."
As he performed the delicate surgery, his focus and preciseness were unwavering. But his colleagues noticed that he seemed more patient, more empathetic, and more understanding towards his patients.
"Leonardo, you are natural with kids," his pediatrician colleague, doctor Patel, said during a consultation. "You should consider switching to pediatrics."
Leonardo chuckled. " I think I will stick to cardiology, Patel. But I do love spending time with my daughter Krista."
As the day drew a close, Leonardo quickly wrapped up his rounds and said goodbye to his colleagues. He couldn't wait to see his daughter Krista and spend some quality time with her.
He rushed out of the hospital, his mind already shifting from doctor mode to Dad mode. As he drove home, he thought about all the funny things he wanted to do with Krista. Play with her toys, read her a bedtime story and give her a big hug.
When he arrived home, Angelina greeted him at the door with a warm smile. "Hi, Doctor Leonardo! Krista has been waiting for you.
Leonardo's heart swelled with excitement as he rushed into the living room. There, he found Krista sitting in her high chair, banging away at a toy drum. She looked up at him with big round eyes and a toothy grim.
"Dada!" She squealed, reaching out to him with chubby little arms. Leonardo's heart melted as he swept Krista up. A big hug. "Hello, my little princess!" He exclaimed, twirling her around the room.
As they spent the evening together, Leonardo felt his stress and fatigue melting away. Being with Krista was the best medicine he could ask for.
As the days turned into weeks, Carlson's anxiety grew. He couldn't shake off the feeling that something was terribly wrong. The disappearance of his baby with Rita from the hospital left him with more questions than answers.
Determined to get some answers, Carlson decided to pay a visit to the police station. He arrived at the station, his heart racing with anticipation. After filling out a report and waiting for what felt like an eternity, he was finally called into the officer's desk.
"Mister Carlson, l am officer Roberto, the officer said, extending a sympathetic hand." I understand you are looking for information about your baby's disappearance."
Carlson nodded, his eyes scanning the officer's face for any sign of hope. " Yes please. I just want to know what's going on. Is there any news?"
Officer Roberto signed, his expression apologetic. "I am afraid we do not have any concrete heads yet. Mister Carlson. But please be assured that we are doing everything in our power to investigate this case."
Carlson felt a surge of frustration. " But it's been weeks! How can a baby just vanish into thin air?
Officer Roberto nodded understandingly." I know it's hard to wait, Mister Carlson. But these things take time. We are reviewing the hospital's security footage, interviewing staff and patients, and following up on every lead. But I need you to be patient and trust the process.
Carlson took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing thoughts. He knew the officer was right. He had to trust the process. But it was hard to wait because every passing day felt like an eternity.
As Carlson walked out of the police station, he couldn't shake off the feeling of frustration and helplessness. He had been waiting for weeks, yet, there was still no news about his baby's disappearance.
He decided to walk around the block to clear his head. The fresh air and sunshine did little to lift his mood, but he felt a sense of determination rising up with him. He was going to find out what had happened to his baby no matter what it took.
As he walked, Carlson's mind began to wander back to the day his baby had disappeared. He remembered the chaos and confusion, the sound of Rita's screams, and the feeling of utter despair that had washed over him.
