Rita's Unseen Destiny.

Chapter 42: Destiny Helper .

As he shopped, Evans couldn't help but think about his next move. He knew he couldn't care, for now he was determined to do his best. He purchased a few onesies, sleepers, and a soft tog to comfort her.

Once home, Evans carefully changed the baby's diapers, wincing in surprise at the mess. But he persevered, knowing it was all part of caring for this tiny human. He swaddled her shugly in a new blanket and rocked her gently, trying to soothe her cries. He named her Lilly.

As the baby's eyes locked onto Evans, he knew it was time for her next feeding. He had purchased a few bottles of formula and some bottles hopping he was doing the right thing. He had never fed a baby before, but he was determined to learn. Evans carefully prepared the formula, following the instructions on the label. He tested the temperature. On his wrist, making sure it wasn't too hot or too cold. Then, he gently placed the bottle in the baby's mouth, cradling her head in his hand.

At first, the baby was hesitant, but as soon as she tasted the milk, she began to drink eagerly. Evans watched in amazement as she helped down the formula, her tiny hands grasping the bottle.

As the baby calmed down, Evans sat beside her, listening to thoughts. What was he going to do next? Could he really raise this baby on his own? And what about Stessy? Would she ever come back for the baby?

The following day, Evans woke up early in the morning carrying the baby with all her new belongings he had bought her. He went and placed the baby outside his home where rubbish is collected for disposal.

As he placed the baby's carrier on the ground, he hesitated for a moment, looking around nervously. The streets were empty, and the only sound was a distant rumble of a garbage truck approaching. Evans' heart raced as he turned to leave, but then he heard a faint cry from the baby.

He spun a round, his eyes welling up with tears. I am sorry Lilly," he whispered, his voice cracking. I can't take care of you. I am not fit to be a father."

The baby's cries grew louder, and Evans knew he had to get away. He turned and ran, not stopping until he reached his apartment.

Collapsing onto the couch, Evans buried his face in his hands, overcome with emotions. What had he just done? He knew he couldn't care for Lilly, but abandoning her like that? It was unforgivable.

Just after Evans left, the garbage truck workers arrived to collect the garbage, and they found a baby abandoned just next to the garbage inside the baby carrier.

As the garbage truck workers were trying to figure out what to do with the baby, a sleek black car pulled up beside them. A well-dressed man with a kind face and a stethoscope around his neck. Stepped out of the car.

"Hi there, I am Leonardo Hunter, a cardiologist, "he said with a warm smile. I was driving by and saw the commotion. What's going on?"

The garbage truck workers explained the situation and doctor Leonardo's eyes widened in surprise. " An abandoned baby? That's terrible! Let me take a look."

Doctor Leonardo quickly examined the baby and declared, "She is healthy, but we need to get her to a hospital ASAP. I will call an ambulance."

Doctor Leonardo accompanied the baby to Saint Catherine hospital, ensuring she received the best care possible. Upon arrival, he carefully transferred her to a warm incubator, where nurses swaddled her in a soft blanket. He ordered a thorough examination, including blood tests and a thorough physical check-up. As the medical team worked, doctor Leonardo couldn't help but feel a sense of responsibility for his tiny human.

Doctor Leonardo's eyes landed on the delicate necklace around the baby's neck, and his curiosity was piqued. He gently lifted the tiny pendant, and his eyes widened as he saw the letter "k" engraved on it. Suddenly, the name Krista popped into his mind, and he knew it was perfect.

"Krista it is, then," he said with a smile, gazing at the baby.

As he continued to care for Krista, doctor Leonardo couldn't shake off the feeling that the necklace was more than just a simple trinket. He wondered if it might hold some significance or communication to Krista's past.

But as the sun began to set, Leonardo knew he had to face reality. He couldn't keep the baby, no matter how much he wanted to. He had a life, a career and a responsibility to his work. Yet, as he looked into the baby's eyes, he knew he couldn't just abandon her either.

As he stood there, torn and uncertain, the baby reached out and grasped his figure, her tiny hand wrapping around it like avice. Leonardo felt a surge of emotion, and at that moment, he knew his life would never be the same.

I will take care of you," Leonardo whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. I will make sure you are safe."

The baby cooed and gurgled, as if responding to his promises. Leonardo smiled, feeling a sense of wonder and awe wash over him.

As the days passed, Leonardo found himself growing more and more attached to baby Krista. He then took her home, setting up a nursery in his apartment. He learned to feed her, change her diapers and soothe her cries.

Rita and Carlson burst into the nursery at the hospital where baby Krista was abducted from, eager to cuddle their little one after a quick errand. But as they approached the crib, their hearts sank in union. The crib was empty, and their baby was nowhere to be found!

" Where is our baby?" Rita exclaimed, her voice trembling with panic.

Carlson rushed to the bassinet, thinking maybe the nurse had moved the baby, but it was empty too. He frantically scanned the room, his eyes darting between the changing table, the rocking chair and the baby monitor, but found nothing.
