Chapter 35: Rita's Nightmare.
Rita nodded understanding. I will make sure to leave you to it, then Samuel can pick me up at five P. M and take me home."
Rayan nodded, his expression professional. "Very well, sir, I will make everything run smoothly. And Misses Carlson, Samuel will be there to pick you up at five P. M sharp.
After Rayan finished reading Carlson's schedule, they both headed to work together. Rita, being Carlson's secretary, was already familiar with the day's agenda, but she listened intently as they walked to the office.
As they arrived, Rita settled at her desk, booting up her computer and getting ready for the day's tasks. Carlson, meanwhile, headed into his office, shutting the door behind him to prepare for his first meeting.
Throughout the day, Rita was a whirlwind of productivity, juggling phone calls, emails, and paperwork with ease. She was the perfect secretary. Anticipating Carlson's needs and ensuring that everything ran smoothly.
Meanwhile, Carlson was in back to back meetings, but he couldn't help but steal glances at Rita through the glass wall of his office. He was grateful for her hard work and dedication, and he knew that he couldn't do it without her.
As the day drew to a close, Rita began wrapping up her tasks, preparing to head home. Rita called Samuel, Carlson's driver, some few minutes to five P. M to come and pick her back home, leaving Carlson to his dinner meeting with Raymond.
"See you tonight, my love," Rita said, pecking Carlson on the checks as she left.
I will be thinking of you, "Carlson replied, smiling. Have a good evening."
And with that, Rita was off, leaving Carlson to his busy evening ahead.
At home during the evening hours, Rayan texted stessy. Carlson's ex-girlfriend. "Hey stessy, just a heads-up that Samuel is picking up Rita at five P. M today. Make sure that everything is in place.
Stessy replied. "Got it, Rayan. I have set up a little surprise for Rita. She will be getting a ride with some special friends today."
Rayan raised an eyebrow but didn't question it further. He knew stessy could be a bit mischievous at times.
Rita walked out of the office building, lost in thought as she made her way to the parking lot. She was expecting Samuel to pick her up, and she saw a car pull up. She assumed it was him. But as she approached the vehicle, she realized with a jolt of fear that the driver was not Samuel.
Before she could react, a group of men jumped out of the car and grabbed her, dragging her into the vehicle. Rita struggled and tried to scream, but one of them quickly tied up her mouth with a gag, silencing her. They then bound her legs and hands with rope, rendering her helpless.
As the car sped away, Rita's mind raced with terror. Who were those men? Where were they taking her? She tried to struggle again, but it was nouse. One of the men snatched her phone from her hand and switched it off, cutting off her only lifeline.
The men didn't speak to her or to each other. Their faces were expressionless. Rita was trapped, a lie and frightened, as the car disappeared into the night.
The vehicle drove through the city streets, taking a series of sharp turns and narrow alleys, making it difficult for Rita to keep track of their location. Finally, they arrived at asecheded, hidden home, nestled in a quiet, isolated area within the city.
The men pulled Rita out of the car and dragged her into the house, throwing her into a dimly lit room. The space was sparse, with only a single chair and a small table. The windows were boarded up, and the door was made of thick metal, with heavy iron bars.
Rita's eyes adjusted to the darkness, and she saw a figure emerging from the shadows. It was stessy, her eyes gleaming with a sinister light. It was Rita's first time to see Stessy's face.
"Welcome, Rita," stessy said, her voice dripping with Malice. "You are going to be our guest for a while."
Rita tried to speak, but her mouth was still gagged. She struggled against the ropes, but they were too tight.
Stessy began to circle around her, taunting her. "You think you are so smart, don't you, Rita? But you have no idea what's going on. You are just a pawn in our game."
Rita's mind raced, trying to understand what stessy was talking about. What game? What did they want from her?
As Stessy continues to taunt her, Rita realizes that she has to think fast. She needed to escape, but how? The room was secure, and she was tied up tight.
Just as Rita was thinking of a plan, stessy stopped in front of her and whispered," You will never see Carlson again."
Rita's heart skipped a beat. What will they do to her? She struggled against the ropes, but it was no use. She was trapped.
Stessy's eyes blazed with fierce intensity as she spat out the words. You think you are so innocent, don't you, Rita? But you have been living a lie. You stole Carlson away from me, and now it's time to pay the price."
Rita's mind reeled in shock. Stessy and Carlson? What was she talking about?
Stessy's laughter was cold and mirthless. "Oh you didn't know? Carlson and I were meant to be together. We were in love, but you came along and stole him away. And then, to add insult to injury, you got pregnant with his child."
Rita's eyes widened in horror." That's not true!" She tried to protest, but Stessy cut her off.
"Don't lie to me, Rita. I know all about it. And now, it's my turn to take what's mine. You will never see Carlson again and Carlson will finally realize his true feelings for me."
Rita's heart raced with fear and disbelief. This can't be happening. Stessy was insane.
But Stessy just smiled, a cold, calculating smile. "You should have stayed out of our way, Rita. Now, you will pay the price for your meddling."
With that, stessy turned and left the room, leaving Rita bound and gagged, her mind racing with terror and despair.
