Family: Parents (father is a teacher at the boys’ school Falling Shards next door)

Bio: An airheaded girl, Iris is the close friend of Maia. Iris dated a girl named Olive for a long time, but Olive dumped her once her fangs came in (it is uncertain if Olive dumped her specifically for being a Cani, but the timeline matches up). Iris is with Maia as much as possible, and takes great joy in the little catlike behaviors of Maia (purring, sleeping in sun, etc.). While her deeper feelings for Maia are unknown, what’s not unknown is Iris’ frequent use of getting Feral Flu to get out of situations, with her having at least five encounters with the illness since getting her fangs.

 

Maia Oloro

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): cat Kanibari

Cani powers: ?

Bio: A standoffish, tall girl, Maia didn’t have much of a social life until she met Iris. The two quickly became best friends, and Maia quickly developed feelings for her. Maia was pained by Iris’ relationship with Olive, and was quietly overjoyed when they split, until she saw how devastated Iris was. She stayed by Iris through the difficult breakup period, and the two are rarely seen away from each other. Maia secretly longs for her relationship with Iris to become something more but doesn’t know what steps to take to initiate that.

 

Amara Allegro

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): fox Kanibari

Cani powers: Lasers

Interests: Arts and crafts, knitting, fur care, big table

Rivals/enemies: KJ (for Rain’s affection)

Bio: One of the fabled love trio members, Amara is a security obsessed fox Kanibari. She’s more obsessed with Rain, the leader of the trio. She butts heads with KJ (also obsessed with Rain). Amara loves knitting (she learned how from Rain) and is frequently making knitting projects and other arts and crafts.

 

 

Rain Adagio

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): deer Kanibari

Cani powers: Mind control

Interests: Tea parties, big table

Bio: Leader of the love trio, Rain is a princess of a faraway country. Her exact feelings for Amara and KJ are unknown, but she clearly has a great deal of affection for them. She has a casually cruel side as well.

 

KJ

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): raccoon Kanibari

Cani powers: Claims to be able to sense film orientation, it is unconfirmed if this is part of her actual power or if she was lying

Interests: Film, big table

Bio: The third member of the love trio, KJ is a dedicated aspiring filmmaker. Camera always in hand (Rain usually in the focus), KJ dreams of making a big movie franchise that can stand alongside the classics.

 

Arielle Roux

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): Fangs, cat ears

Cani powers: Magic

Bio: A gamer that’s been described as a “trash child,” Roux is the kind of student to give a new backstory every time she encounters someone. Currently taking part in wizard training with Razmus Marne. Has known Kalei for a long time, but her feelings to her outside of rival are unknown.

 

 

Nikki Maerin

Age: 16

Cani powers: Soundwave blasts

Interests: Music

Bio: Nikki is a spacy student at Rising Shards. Frequently listening to music or playing on her guitar, Nikki doesn’t socialize much outside of with her roommate Latte.

 

 

Latte Bein

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): Fangs

Cani powers: Seemingly increased speed (but that could be from caffeine)

Interests: Coffee, breaking things

Bio: A coffee loving student at Rising Shards, Latte is never seen without either a full coffee cup in hand. She has a coffee machine she carries around, but most don’t mind because of her pleasant aroma.

 

Elisa Burwell

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): Blue dragon Kanibari

Cani powers: ?

Bio: A fanatic for popstar Osiris, Elisa is a strange student that wears bear pajamas under her uniform. She joined the departing students who left for Wildfire Hearts on the promise of meeting Osiris.

 

Chumbler

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): Fangs

Cani powers: Speedball, shapeshifting into sexy form

Bio: The gambling obsessed Chumbler just wants to make an impact at Rising Shards (via gambling). Her adventures with her best friend Zorta Orca Korbley (Z.O.K.) have brought her to a void pirate, a strange masked being, and an apparent duplicate of herself.

 

 

Z.O.K.

Age: 16

Cani signs (physical): Kanibari

Cani powers: ?

Bio: Zorta Orca Korbley (Z.O.K.) is Chumbler’s partner in gambling related crimes. Z.O.K. is generally shy and doesn’t care for most of the students at Rising Shards, finding Chumbler to be the only person worth talking to.
