Interlude - Guildmaster
Mitchell had found his sister in law and his nephew. He spoke to Brittanie fearing for his brother until she revealed that he was in fact still alive.
He had taken up the post of Guildmaster in the very active Clarksville adventurers guild. It wasn't a bad gig. His days within the guild were fairly care free with very few people ever getting too out of hand where he had to step in.
He had met the President last month when he was formerly asked to be the guild master of the clarksville area. He had met Wardens Josh and Amy at the same time. They told him he was a judge in the area to help maintain order and discipline within the local area which suited him nicely as when his sisters, mother, and rest of his family on his mother's side learned of his position they had moved out there and were living alongside of Brittanie who everyone called the Seraph.
The vast majority of the Ekarts remained in the pacific northwest where his little brother who had become known as the Tidecaller was the Warden along the coast stopping any sort of invasions from monsters and people alike. Many pirating groups and even other nations probed the coast of the USA only to be repelled by Kody in sometimes the most bad ass manner.
Mitch and Kody didn't always get along as was the case with siblings, but man he had to hand it to Kody, he was good at what he did.
Mitch had his own problems managing the dual rifts in clarksville where monsters had been slowly but surely increasing in power. More and more aether was filling the atmosphere of their planet beginning to affect even normal animals.
*Crash!*
There came shouting in the main hall and then silence.
With a sigh Mitch got up, grabbing his sword.
He walked out to the guildmaster's perch where he could see everything while remaining out of sight at his mostly empty guild hall.
With the morning rush over the guild was deserted save for the applicants waiting to test out.
"We want the cores! Either give them over or we start ripping this place apart!" A group of masked people stood at the counter of the guild hall intimidating little Eliza his new hire.
*smack!*
That was Mitch's signal.
"Gentlemen, put your weapons on the floor and lay down on your face." He said calmly.
They all turned and looked at him and snorted.
"Get out of here you little bitch before you get yourself killed." The leader of the group said.
Mitch drew his sword silently from it's sheath and with what appeared to be a flicker of his hand the leader of the game fell to the floor like a puppet with its strings cut and a startled scream. Gravity was immediate, but the pain was not.
Nobody saw what happened, but all that happened was Mitch severed all the man's tendons.
The group was stunned.
"Lay down your weapons. Last warning. You have broken guild law and the penalty is confinement provided you obey commands of the guildmaster. Otherwise, with the state of the world...it's death." He said holding his signature red and blue sword out to the side.
In their anger they charged.
Stories of that day always claim the Wanderer didn't even move. The moment the group of vandals raised their weapons, their bodies fell to pieces and never again did anyone dare draw a weapon in the clarksville guild.
