RISE OF THE MARTIAL GOD

Chapter 27: YOU'RE SORRY?

"Something isn't right, I keep having this nagging feeling inside of me." Kaiser muttered, pacing his office. His assistant walked in at that moment holding a clip.

"Boss, the intelligence team has gathered the information. As you thought, the bomb was indeed planted by Brent's men."

"That bastard!" Kaiser growled, smashing a mug against the floor.

"Just to lure me away from home, they were willing to sacrifice the lives of nearly a hundred innocent people working in the factory. But what else should I expect from the almighty dragon clan if not this heartless and ruthless move?" Kaiser whispered, clenching his fists tightly. A loud bell rang in his mind at that moment.

'Huh? If they made this big move to pull me away, it means that they're planning something huge on the other end too. Did they ambush big brother?'

His personal phone rang at that moment, making him frown. Few people had his private number. He rushed to the phone and picked up the call from the strange number with a frown on .

"Is this Lord Kaiser Meyer?" The voice whispered urgently.

"Yes, it is." Kaiser answered, his frown deepening. Who calls someone without knowing whose number they dialled?

"This is urgent, I'm a secret agent tasked with watching your brother, but we met a problem. Your brother has been sent to the perilous lands, and we can't move around dragon clan. You need to step in. Thanks and don't call me back." The woman on the other end whispered, and quickly ended the call.

Kaiser's heart skipped multiple beats and he shot to his feet.

"Get the helicopter ready!" He roared at the assistant who quickly rushed off to obey. He had never seen the calm and dangerous Kaiser looking so flustered as he did that moment. So, asking questions would be a very foolish thing to do.

"Brent, if you touch Anthony, I'm gonna kill you."

Kaiser quickly tried to connect to Anthony through the spatial bracelet, but there was no connection.

"What's the meaning of this? Why is the bracelet not connecting?" Kaiser whispered, looking confused. As long as somebody with his genes was holding the bracelet, it would immediately be activated. And Anthony was his blood brother, which should have increased the efficiency of the bracelet. But he was unable to activate it, talk more of checking up on his current condition. He gritted his teeth in frustration and quickly rushed to the helipad, muttering 'damn it' under his breath.

The moment the helicopter landed, Kaiser jumped out of it and rushed into the house.

"Mom!" His voice vibrated around the huge villa, making Joyce who was in her room to quickly rush downstairs.

Kaiser walked up to her and grabbed her shoulders.

"Didn't you give Anthony the teleportation bracelet? Why can't I feel him no matter how hard I try?" He roared, shaking her.

"You won't be able to feel him. Your good sister seized the items you left and hid it away. No matter how much I pleaded, she refused to bring them out, telling him to go face it on his own." Joyce whispered and sighed.

"That bitch! I will kill her!" Kaiser roared, looking like a deranged animal.

"Kaiser, calm down. Don't do anything you will regret. It's the city of kings after all. Your brother isn't that weak. He will be able to hold on until you arrive." Joyce whispered, pulling him back. In spite of her big words earlier in the day, Rona was still her child and she won't let Kaiser tear her apart without making efforts to rescue her.

"They tricked us! They didn't send him to city of kings, it was the perilous lands! That was why they planted the fucking bombs to distract me!" Kaiser shouted and pushed her away, quickly teleporting to Rona's room.

"Pe-perilous lands?" Joyce whispered and staggered, as everything went black before her eyes. The maids standing beside her quickly caught her, looking panicked. They had never seen their handsome and dashing young master looking like a beast, nor have they seen their strong mistress so weak in the past. Was heaven about to flip?

"Rona!" Kaiser roared, his voice echoing through the mansion the moment he kicked the door open. Rona had locked the door from the inside, but it only took one kick from the furious Kaiser to destroy the bulletproof door. An angry Kaiser was a dangerous one, especially with his deep cultivation. The current Kaiser was akin to a beast who had lost all rationality.

He met Rona sitting on her bed, hugging her knees while shivering in fear. He appeared before her, not bothering to walk, and delivered a resounding slap to her, making blood and one of her molars spill out of her mouth. The force of the slap had pushed her off the bed, causing her to hit the wall with a heavy thud.

"Big brother!" She whispered in fear, as she felt hot urine rush to her bladder. Kaiser's eyes had turned a frightening red and gold color and with each breath he huffed out, hot white smoke got exhaled from his body. This brother before her was one she had never seen before. Kaiser was always handsome and doting. Even when he punished her for insulting Anthony, he was still his normal self and made sure to control the force of his hands to avoid hurting her. But at the moment, he couldn't care less.

He appeared before her again, and grabbed her by the throat.

"Bitch! How dare you?" He growled, ignoring the tears which were dripping steadily on his fingers. Before he could say more, he felt a warm liquid against his shoes, making him look down with a frown.

Urine! Rona had peed on him in fear.

"Gross!" He shouted and jumped back, letting her slide to the floor.

Kaiser clenched and unclenched his fists, trying to regulate his internal energy which was going berserk due to anger.

"How dare you? I told you that if you cross him again, I will kill you myself. But you did it anyway." Kaiser whispered, turning to look at her. His eyes were still red and golden, but he was no longer breathing out hot smoke. If he tortured her the way his heart yearned for, she will probably poo on him instead of just pee.

"I'm sorry big brother." She muttered, kneeling on the floor as she cried. Kaiser looked at her and frowned.

"It's not like you to be so docile and submissive instead of running your mouth. It seems like you found out too!" He growled, crouching before her. The expression on her face said it all, making him scoff.

"Where are the items?" He asked coldly, and she pointed to a carton behind her bed. Kaiser rushed to it and ransacked it, and his heart immediately went cold. Two items were missing and they were exactly the ones with his soul shard imbibed in them.

"Where's the bracelet and silk?" He whispered, turning to her. The rage he barely suppressed was rising again, even worse than before.

"I don't know. They got stolen."

Before she could finish her tearful tale of woes, another powerful slap had her vomiting blood. Her ears were buzzing and ringing. She would have gone deaf from both slaps if not for the fact that she also cultivated internal energy, and her cultivation base was powerful because Kaiser and their parents did everything possible to make her the best. But she still disappointed them— she was nowhere close to becoming the best in the clan.

"They got stolen? By whom? Who would have entered your room to steal it?" He whispered and grabbed her throat again, applying pressure on his fingers.
