RISE OF THE MARTIAL GOD

Chapter 14: TAMING THE TWIN DRAGON DAGGERS

Joyce's struggles increased as she tried to break free and help her son.

"Save it, you can't do anything against my purple lightning."

Anthony's brother quickly made two swords appear in his hands and rushed forward, only to find himself bound by the same purple lightning.

"Grand pa, what are you doing? My brother just got home today, do you want him to get hurt even before he had a chance to meet his family?" The boy asked in panic.

"What do you mean by that, Kaiser? If he's unable to survive it's his fault for overestimating himself. Besides, everyone in the clan has put lots of efforts into cultivating you. If anything happens to you, our finances will suffer. We can lose him but not you. Stay put, you're not wiser than grandpa!" His younger sister shouted, making him grit his teeth in frustration. His palms were itching to slap her, but unfortunately, he couldn't even move his fingers at the moment.

"That's right, Kaiser. Even your sister knows that grandpa is doing the right thing by leaving him to sort himself out. This can also be considered his first test. Even if he doesn't have physical strength, he should at least have wisdom and tact. If he can't survive it, it means he has neither; a total waste." A man of about twenty six years said righteously, while his eyes were mocking Kaiser and his little problematic family.

"Laycon, I can see you have forgotten the taste of my fists. If you want to disregard your place as an elder, I have no problem indulging you with insults. A few punches from me will correct your big mouth." Kaiser spat, making the former speaker clench his fists in frustration. He was many years older than Kaiser. Yet, he always got beaten up during the annual tournament, with Kaiser humiliating him with relish.

Although Kaiser was very young, his strength and cultivation was no joke, making everyone wary of him. He was also in charge of many of the family's businesses, a perfect and smart young man who had been contributing to the family since he was ten. Others would have tried to eliminate the threat if not for the special attention from his grandfather. And the fact that poison doesn't work on him. His blood detoxifies every impurity and winning him in a battle wasn't an easy feat. He was young but mighty, a walking elixir for the dragon clan. He was the only one in the family history that has been born with a blood that heals. It was no wonder the old man and his father guarded him jealously, not allowing anyone to hurt him. According to the laws of the dragon clan, insulting an elder attracts severe punishment. But Kaiser was the only exception. He was allowed to beat up anyone who offends him as long as he was stronger than they were. Anthony's branch of the family was a huge headache for the rest, making them incredibly happy when they saw Anthony's file which stated that he was useless and average. They finally found someone they could lash out on without repercussions. And Anthony won't be able to hide under his family forever, giving them a chance to take out their grievances on him.

"Kaiser, you don't need to get angry. Just get ready to collect his body." Another man said mockingly.

Kaiser suddenly smirked.

"My brother might not have had the training the rest of us had, but he won't die from mere dagger spirits. A lion's cub doesn't eat grass. Even without my help, he will definitely come out of it unscathed, or even tame them."

The moment he said it, everyone burst into laughter.

"Kaiser, if your lost brother manages to tame the daggers and make them acknowledge him, I will call him ancestor and crawl between your legs to admit my inferiority. However, that will probably not happen. If he gets brutalized instead, you will kneel before me and call me ancestor. So get ready to collect his body and kowtow to me." Laycon said, and laughed loudly. Others also laughed in support, looking forward to the moment they humiliate the arrogant Kaiser.

"You want me to kowtow to you? Do you even have the ability to receive it from me?" Kaiser asked mockingly.

"He knows his brother is a waste. Why will he agree to such bets with you?" A teenage boy dressed in black warrior leather clothes and boots said, making Kaiser's eyes boil with anger.

"Who said I don't dare to? Laycon, don't forget what you just said. Otherwise, I will beat you up every time I see you." Kaiser said calmly with a smile on his face.

"Look!" A young girl shouted, making those that were distracted quickly turn to Anthony.

Anthony was clutching the blades of the daggers tightly in both palms. Blood was dripping out of his fingers staining the daggers and his eyes had turned golden. The daggers slowly stopped struggling, and a red halo circled Anthony. He quickly shut his eyes and sat cross legged, making everyone confused. After a while, the daggers turned to two golden streams of light and flew into his body, one on each arm. After a while, he exhaled and opened his eyes.

"What just happened now? Where did the daggers go?" Someone shouted, making everyone scrutinize him carefully.

"Nice, not bad not bad. You managed to make the daggers that have been lying dormant for a thousand years to accept and fuse with you. It only shows that you have immense potential which would have shined even more if you were groomed alongside your brothers. Not bad, not bad!" The old man said the moment Anthony stood up, making him turn around in surprise.

When did so many people get in without him noticing it?

He saw an old man walking towards him holding what seemed to be a horsetail wand, making his frown to deepen.

"Who are you?" Anthony asked, scrutinizing him. Just then, Anthony's eyes went to his mother and one other boy who looked a lot like him, getting tied up with purple lightning. Who dares to do that to them?
