Chapter 177: Back
Working with impressive efficiency, Ange managed to complete her research in record time. Therefore, the research, which was supposed to last 2 months, was completed in 5 weeks.
It was a good thing she finished quickly, because her body couldn't handle many more nights alone with Davi.
Even if he tried to hold back, it was still too much.
Excited to see the results of her research bear fruit, she now only needed to patent it, write an article properly describing all her findings, and perform the final tests.
In the end, the product worked better in solid form, so she produced a man pill, instead of a potion. It was still possible to make potions, but their effects would be way weaker.
Then it would be the job of the magical scientific community as a whole to find a way to mass-produce that. After all, the method Ange used was still extremely costly and slow.
Regarding Wein, he was also doing well. Davi even had the chance to fight against his latest creation, and that monster was dangerous.
The biggest problem was still control. Wein had not yet developed a good way to control the monsters he created.
As for Amelia, she also returned from her mission to hunt the two demons. Unfortunately, some members of the commission who accompanied her died, but she managed to return with victory.
That said, Amelia herself had not yet returned; she and some other powerful professors were just finishing clearing the lower floors.
They discovered that the monsters on those floors were evolving by fighting each other, and the best way to stop this evolution was to massacre them all.
Therefore, the woman would only return in three weeks.
If Inanna's predictions were correct, they would have at least two more years without such big problems appearing.
Of course, the number of attacking monsters and the difficulty of the dungeons would increase, but they could handle that.
In other words, this was the time Davi had to get stronger.
Another change was that Davi finally moved to the Harem House. Alexia commented on her plan to Sophia, and the two, with Mei's help, planned everything while he was away.
In addition, the maid staff increased a bit during this time, but that would be a problem for another time.
That said, not all of the boy's girlfriends were there. Sylvia had returned from her training but had already left on a trip with her older sister.
After all, the first semester would end in just one week, and they took the opportunity to go on vacation. Well, actually, the trip was more related to serious matters....
Ember and Lara also joined a special training company to increase their power.
In fact, all the girls were seeking to strengthen and evolve in their own way.
Davi obviously wouldn't be left behind, so he found a way to train and solve a problem that had been bothering him for a long time.
Between the first and second semesters, there was a tournament in which all A or B rank students could participate. The winner gained a direct promotion to S rank.
Davi believed he would probably receive this promotion when Amelia returned, but winning the tournament would make things easier. And, more importantly, it was a good way to test his current powers and understand his level.
And that's why he was at that exact moment in a long line waiting to sign up.
And it was in the middle of that crowd of people signing up that Davi noticed a familiar figure a few meters ahead.
Bent over and timidly looking around, Lina was there; she seemed to have just finished her registration.
"Lina?" Davi called, stepping forward.
She turned in surprise with a rigid expression, but an animated look came over her face when she saw who was calling her.
"Oh, Davi." A small smile appeared. "Are you going to participate too?"
"I need a good challenge. And you?" he asked, approaching.
"Well... I wanted to challenge myself too," she admitted, a little embarrassed.
Unlike Davi, who was confident in reaching the final and winning, Lina had no confidence in her abilities. She was just hoping not to perform too badly.
They exchanged a few words about the tournament, commenting on possible opponents and the intensity of the fights.
The boy naturally noticed that Luna was not at all confident. And thinking that he would need a training partner anyway, he suggested:
"If you want, we can prepare for the tournament together. I also know some other powerful people who could help us train, so if you want to join, it will be a good opportunity to evolve."
They still had two weeks before the actual tournament. To be more precise, in the next two weeks, the preliminary phase would take place, which consisted of fights to choose the final 64 participants of the tournament.
"Are you sure I wouldn't just get in your way?" She asked timidly, and after Davi reaffirmed that she would be a useful training partner, the girl gladly accepted.
In fact, Lina was very excited to spend more time with Davi.
"If you want, we can go train right now, what do you think?" He commented in a calm tone. In the new house that Sophia and Alexia bought, there was an excellent training room.
"I'm free!" Lina replied quickly.
"Ok."
Davi took his cell phone out of his pocket and quickly sent a message to Mei, warning her that he would bring a girl from outside the harem home. He wanted to avoid anything strange from happening.
"Then let's go," he said, calling a taxi.
The trip was short, and when they arrived at Davi's new house, Lina was visibly impressed with the size of the place. Even so, she made no comments, just followed him to the training room.
"Okay, how about we start like this?" Davi raised a finger to punctuate. "You're not a physical combat expert, so you need to train to keep your enemies at bay."
He took a few steps to the center of the place.
"Therefore, we'll do the following: I'm going to attack you continuously, and your mission is to defend yourself and keep me away. I'll only use my sword and my <Moon Slash>."
Lina nodded, understanding that it would be a duel between her ice magic and Davi's physical abilities. After all, if he used all his power, she wouldn't even stand a chance.
The training began with Davi advancing quickly, cutting the air with his blade. Lina raised her hands and conjured a huge ice wall that formed before her with a cold snap.
Davi's <Moon Slash> broke the ice, but it gave her time to retreat and launch frozen spears at him.
For a few minutes, Davi moved quickly trying to attack the girl from multiple angles.
Then, after several minutes, Lina was heavily panting. Her hands trembled slightly from exhaustion, and the last barrier she raised was much thinner than the first ones.
"I... I need a break," she said, leaning against the wall and taking a deep breath.
Davi spun his sword and rested it on his shoulder, watching her carefully. He soon understood that she had already exhausted herself in that short fight.
"You spend too much mana," he commented. "You're always overusing your abilities," he commented, recalling how she always summoned large amounts of ice to defend herself.
Lina looked up at him, still catching her breath.
"If you work on your control, you'll last much longer in battle. You need to use your abilities more efficiently."
He then extended his hand to her, with a slight challenging smile.
"Come on. Rest for a minute... and then we'll train more."
