Rise of the Harem King

Chapter 175: What if I joined…?

Back at the base, Davi was surprised to find Ange awake, holding a bowl of soup. Her fingers bore small burn marks, and he noticed signs around the kitchen that she'd been cooking.

"You're finally back. I made something for you," she said with a gentle smile. "Did you really think I wouldn't notice you sneaking out?"

She set the soup down on a chair and approached with soft steps.

"You've seemed really worried lately. Did something happen? Why are you pushing yourself so hard?" She touched his face gently, her eyes full of worry.

Davi stayed silent for a few seconds, the warmth of her hand contrasting with the chill still lingering on his skin from the fight.

"It's nothing…" he started, looking away.

Ange raised an eyebrow, her gentle smile turning slightly more serious.

"Davi… you're terrible at lying." She let out a brief laugh. "Even I can tell," she added with a self-deprecating smile. "Your eyes are full of worry. I can see it."

"I know I'm not the most reliable person in the world. I'm clumsy, reckless, absent-minded, and useless…" she said in a sad tone, a stark contrast to her usually vibrant demeanor.

Feeling insecure, she fidgeted with her fingers, her eyes darting around as she searched for the right words. It was the first time Davi had seen her like this.

"But I'm your teacher, so I'm here to help you with anything I can."

She clenched her fists tightly, then turned to the soup she'd made. Not meeting his eyes made it easier to speak.

"Please, at least let me show my gratitude." She sighed softly. "You know, before I met you, I was on the verge of giving up… You know how I am, I can't do much on my own. I'm too clumsy…"

She stepped forward and bowed slightly. "I'm deeply grateful for everything you've done for me. So I won't give up until you tell me what's bothering you."

Her tone was gentle but firm. Davi realized that if he kept dodging the topic, she wouldn't let it go anytime soon.

He let out a long sigh, feeling the weight on his shoulders grow heavier.

"Alright…" He ran a hand through his hair, as if trying to organize his thoughts. "I'll tell you everything, but it's a very long story."

He trusted Ange enough to know she wouldn't share this with anyone else or betray him.

But he still had a problem… where should he even start?

"Can we talk about it tomorrow morning? I'm exhausted, and it's a really long story."

"Okay, but you better not use that as an excuse to avoid telling me," she said, trying to sound threatening, though she only came across as adorable.

"Don't worry, I wouldn't do that," he reassured her.

The next day, Davi followed through with his promise.

"I don't deny it, it's a little hard to believe," Ange commented. "If it wasn't you telling me, I would never believe it."

"It's also a lot to absorb all at once," she admitted.

The eleventh day of the research expedition was entirely spent with Davi telling Ange a very long story. He talked about his class, about his harem, and about Inanna, as well as his concern about the end of the world.

He was trying not to think too much about it, but it was natural for him to feel a great weight, thinking that he needed to be the one to solve it.

When he had his girlfriends around, he could feel more confident, but the more time passed, the more anxious he became.

In the end, the one who had to defeat the demon king was him. The possibility of failing made his hands tremble.

Seeing this, Ange couldn't stand still.

Without a word, she approached, wrapped him in her soft arms, and squeezed. Her sweet scent enveloped him.

Her generous and warm breasts pressed against his chest, and Davi felt the tension escaping him like a stolen sigh.

"You've done enough for today, hero," she murmured, her fingers playing with his hair. "No one will save the world with shoulders so tense."

Davi almost protested, but her warmth was very convincing. He sank into the embrace, allowing himself, for the first time in days, to just rest.

Until Ange let out a low giggle, her lips brushing his ear:

"But since we're talking about relieving loads..." Her hand slowly slid down his back, stopping right at the lower curve of his buttocks. "I volunteer for your... harem."

Davi choked.

"Well... you... you said you find me attractive," she commented shyly, seductively, explaining her line of reasoning. "Besides, I can help, even if just a little, to achieve that goddess's goal."

With every word Ange said, she felt more embarrassed. She had said that assuming Davi would accept, but what if he didn't want to?

Interrupting her thoughts and insecurities, Davi kissed her passionately. The woman, who was not very experienced, had difficulty keeping up, but soon surrendered to a kiss full of passion.

The kiss prolonged, ardent and full of unspoken promises. When they finally separated, Ange's lips were slightly swollen, and her eyes, shining with a mixture of desire and surprise.

Davi held her face in his hands, his fingers gently caressing her flushed cheeks.

"You really are beautiful," he murmured almost unconsciously.

She blushed even more, but didn't pull back. Instead, her fingers intertwined with his, as if she feared he might disappear if she let go.

"So... does that mean you accept my... proposal?"

He hesitated, but not out of doubt, just to see her squirm with anxiety for an answer. Finally, with a mischievous smile, he murmured:

"Of course..."

They kissed again, while Davi removed his clothes and helped Ange undress as well.

As soon as Ange's beautiful breasts were revealed to the world, Davi moved forward, aggressively sucking her nipples, which made the woman moan loudly.

But that would only be the beginning.
