Rise of the Harem King

Chapter 152: The Ancient Legends and the End of All Things.

After receiving an answer about the origin of his powers, Davi nodded, falling silent as he pondered the matter.

"Your turn," Inanna turned to Amelia. "Ask a question."

Amelia crossed her arms, her eyes still fixed on Inanna with suspicion. Her voice came out sharp, cutting, like a honed blade:

"Can you tell me what the broken seal is? And what is a 'Demon General'?"

Inanna smiled playfully. "You're starting with such a serious question? You could've asked something funnier first, you know…"

Amelia's stern, irritated glare made it clear she wasn't in the mood for games. Inanna shrugged, slightly annoyed by the woman's lack of humor.

Normally, her infinitely beautiful body should have had an effect even on another woman, but Amelia seemed completely immune.

Well, she was already stronger than a mid-tier deity, so her mental resistance must have been abnormal too.

"Fine, this is going to be a long story," she began, and the world around them changed.

Instead of a small, elegant room, they were now standing in the middle of an endless white void.

"In the beginning of all things, there was nothing," she spoke, and as she did, the vast whiteness shifted, revealing images of the past.

Amid infinite darkness, there was a tiny sphere of energy, one that would soon give birth to everything. And when it burst, a being emerged.

"He was the essential being," Inanna commented, "As well as being my daddy and first husband. "Well, many things happened and me and my sister were born."

Too lazy to explain everything in detail, she simply accelerated the flow of time, revealing the image of two girls standing in the middle of nothingness.

"That's me as a child," Inanna said, pointing to herself. "The mother of all things. And that over there is my sister, the opposite of me. Destruction itself. Or, as she later became known, the King of All Demons."

In the beginning, Inanna's sister was extremely weak. She existed for the sole purpose of destroying, but the world had nothing to destroy yet. After all, nothing had been created.

"Back then, she was just a cute little girl... until I seduced Daddy before she could."

Inanna smirked. "She got furious, jealous as hell."

The goddess showed unnecessary explicit images of the past, but it was not really sexy. Gods have no need for sex organs, so their sex is more like a long hug. They just need to mix their energy.

And by using her daddy's energy, Inanna was able to give birth to seven other gods that, with her, formed the institutions that would be known by the first humans as the eight gods.

Unfortunately the essential being died, as he spread all of his remaining energy among his sons.

After all, he was not able to create anything, but his sons would be.

Thus, the eight goddesses began to use their energy and power to create. Stars, physical laws, time, and after all that, they created humans.

More specifically, humanity was created with the purpose of doing the gods' work for them. Humans were small beings who possessed a tiny amount of magic.

But they were determined and capable of creating things on their own. Moreover, they had the incredible ability to evolve.

And so, they quickly began creating increasingly complex things and advanced rapidly by themselves.

"That era was fun," Inanna said with a nostalgic smile. "They were so entertaining that my children wanted to have children with them, and some of them even managed to ascend in status."

Excitedly, she recalled how the lower, middle, and high-ranking gods emerged from all those relationships.

It was also during that time that sex came into existence, which was why Inanna was so animated when talking about the subject.

But soon, her gaze turned sad.

They built temples to honor the gods who had granted them their powers. And even though they periodically killed each other, humanity and the universe were doing well.

However, the world was no longer composed of nothing.

Back then, the gods underestimated destruction and believed it held no power.

However, every time something that had been created was destroyed, it gained more strength. It fed on creation by turning it into nothing. And from nothingness, from lamentations, from the pain of loss, demons emerged.

"Demons are like the monsters you fight in dungeons, but far more powerful. Monsters appear when animals come into contact with a demon's aura, in case you were wondering," Inanna explained.

Then, all the surrounding images displayed destruction

A new era began: the era of conflict.

"At first, we didn't think much of her," Inanna admitted with a bitter smile. "She was just a sulky brat with no real power. Or so we thought."

But as empires rose and fell, as stars died and lives were lost, she fed. She grew. She evolved. Then came the inevitable: war.

It began suddenly. Entire galaxies blinked out of existence in seconds. The first gods to fall were the lesser ones, they tried to fight but didn't had the power to do so.

Their essence was devoured, their souls shattered.

The eight original gods stood at the peak of power. But they were proud. Arrogant. Divided. Each ruled their own domain. Each refused to bow to another.

So they fought alone.

"We were idiots," Inanna murmured, the glow of nostalgia gone from her face, replaced by regret.

Had they stood together, they might have ended the threat early, they could have defeated the demon king when he was not that powerful.

With every act of destruction, her power only grew stronger.

The images showed countless battles, where demons consistently emerged victorious.

Even concepts were erased during that time, entire ideas and forms of existence, lost forever.

For example, many branches of humanity, such as elves and dwarves, were completely wiped out, erased from the fabric of reality itself.

"But power, even hers, has a cost." Inana said. "She destroyed so much that she ended up being out of fuel."

That was the moment the eight gods finally set aside their pride. Together, they launched one final, desperate plan: to seal her.

It cost nearly everything they had.

Eight seals, forged from divine essence and anchored in physical reality, were placed across earth.

But sealing her wasn't enough. Even the tiny trace of the Demon King's aura that escaped was enough to cause chaos.

And so, to contain that essence, they created the dungeons, labyrinthine structures designed to trap and disperse the aura, luring in monsters and adventurers to help dilute its power.

"But…" Inanna paused, her voice growing low and somber.

"Seals aren't eternal. Nothing is. That's why, since the dawn of existence, our world has been trapped in an endless cycle of destruction and creation."

"Wait… by cycle, you mean," Davi's voice faltered as the realization hit him.

"Yes," Inanna replied calmly.

"Humanity, and the entire world, has been nearly wiped out countless times. But somehow… a few dozen humans always manage to survive. And from them, civilization rises again."
