Rise Of The Death Monarch

Chapter 60: We're Ready To Serve

Dante and Luna were sitting on an island in the middle of the swamp, which was hard ground surrounded by thick brambles, covered in sharp thorns. The Creepers found it after an hour of searching. Once learning this, the Death Forest Giant took them there and sat in the entrance, blocking it from any of the monsters after killing so many.

The Death Drakes circled in the water, tearing apart anything they came across. Dante set up the tent while the wolf woman was busy brushing her fluffy black tail. She looked relaxed while humming an unknown song. Luna's blue eyes lifted only to meet his, and a smile crossed her face. ''Would you like to brush me, master?''

''Alright,'' he answered.

Following that, Dante sat behind the brown-skinned beauty as he used a brush she looted from Blackharbor to comb through her soft fur. When Luna felt the felt stroke, she let out a moan, her ears straightened as her cheeks darkened even more. This made him laugh while continuing with his brushing.

After ten minutes of moaning, squirming, and occasional pleading, he was done. The older woman jumped up, wide-eyed as she pointed at him. ''You did that purposely, master! You were hitting all the good spots!''

''That's the point?''

Dante chuckled and took out some noodles from the storage ring. He still had plenty of them alongside all the food he stole from the city. Moments later, he began eating after putting some monster meat on the fire, covered in spices, for the wolf woman, who realized what he had done.

''Thank you,'' she said, tail swaying side to side. ''And sorry for the brushing, it's never felt that good, even when you used to do it hundreds of years ago.''

''Good, because I'll do it every day if you like,'' Dante offered, a charming smile crossing his face.

Luna couldn't hide her happiness as her tail sped up, wagging side to side even faster. This sight made his heart race. Soon, they started eating once again. Once the meat was done, she was chewing into the juicy dish while he slurped down some noodles, just as a crashing was heard on the other side of the thorn wall.

His head snapped in its direction, using Death Eyes to see what sort of creature appeared.

[Swamp Man - A Rank - Stronger fighting types]

When Dante saw the notification, he jumped up, ordering the monsters. ''Capture that thing and anything like it!''

More crashes erupted as the Death Drakes went to work, bringing down the Swamp Men, dragging them toward the giant who threw them at his feet. Just as the creatures looked up, he cast a Death Bolt through their skulls. In the end, there were thirty of the hulking beasts that resembled the Swamp Thing from a comic back on Earth.

The only difference was that these things looked far deadlier, standing at nine feet tall and were covered in weeds and other stuff that hid their true bodies. Dante was excited about bringing them into the Death Army. He pointed his hand at all of them and cast. ''Arise.''

His mana seeped out of him and covered the dead monsters, turning them into something that came straight from a nightmare. They grew to over ten feet, muscles bulged even more, and the greenery on them grew more lush.

[Death Swamp Man - S Rank]

Dante's eyes bulged at the rank increase, and excitement welled up inside him. In the meantime, when Luna saw this, her blue eyes widened, and a big smile crossed her pretty face. ''Good, these things are strong and can travel using nature,'' she revealed.

Following that, the Swamp Men knelt as an eerie voice echoed out from the biggest one. ''Death Monarch, we're ready to serve.''

''Good, now go find me any A Rank monsters, kill them and bring their bodies to me,'' he ordered after swallowing some of the noodles he was eating.

When the wolf woman saw this, she giggled. ''Eating while dealing out death, you've changed for the better, master.''

''Yes, I have, and now I feel free,'' he responded.

After that, the duo continued eating just as thunder boomed overhead, the mana storm had arrived, and he felt the change within him. The atmosphere tried to suck out his energy, but something stopped it, reversing it. He smiled as the pain dulled, allowing him to relax in a soft chair.

Dante pulled it out of one of the storage rings that he pulled off the City Lord's finger. At first, he was confused when he saw it, but shrugged and was glad he didn't throw it away. It was twice his size when he sank into the cushions. Luna giggled. ''Look at you, all comfortable in your old man's chair,'' she teased.

''Shut it you,'' he retorted. ''This thing is comfortable, let me show you.''

The wolf woman got close, and Dante pulled her onto his lap, making her panic, but he reassured her. ''Don't worry, the mana has numbed the pain, and feeling your warmth makes it even better.''

Just then, he felt experience pouring into him as his monsters began killing beasts that came too close to the alcove. The Death Drakes tore through the man-sized fish, or the giant swatted away the creepy-looking humanoids. While sitting there, the Creepers went to work slaughtering anything climbing in the canopy above.

Blood poured down like rain as they were stronger than most beasts coming close to their fire that lit up the dark swamp. The Death Forest Giant was still on guard, but it summoned the Death Giants and the Death Lion to help it. When the undead saw him, they bowed before getting to work.

Luna nestled into the curve of Dante's neck, her breath warm against his skin as she brushed her lips against it. Her kisses began softly, cautiously, but grew bolder when he didn't pull away or reject her advances. He savored the gentle touch of her lips, a thrill building within him.

She trailed her kisses upward, tracing his jaw until her hands found his face. With a soft grip, the wolf beauty turned his head toward her, her big blue eyes searching his before she pressed a passionate kiss to his lips, igniting the moment. He held her waist as she squashed her big boobs against his chest.

Dante's lust exploded, and his hand found her round ass, squeezing it. This excited the older woman, who stuck her tongue in his mouth, a battle erupting between the duo until Luna lost and melted into his embrace. By the time they stopped, she was breathing heavily, eyes full of need.

''Wait until I'm healed,'' he whispered. ''I know you Shifters have special things for that sort of stuff.''

Luna nodded in agreement, and a happy smile stretched across her face. ''Yes, we Soul Bond to one person and one person only.''

''How do you know all this?''

''It's in my blood and I've had over two hundred years to work it all out and meet my people before they left Nemaroth, but as you know, I stayed.''

''When did they leave?''

''One hundred and eighty something, it's been far too long,'' Luna sadly revealed.

Dante felt sorry for her and rubbed her back; this relaxed the older woman as she continued. ''I was lucky to stay here, though, otherwise we would never have met.''

''True,'' he replied, grinning. ''It's good that we did, or I would've been lost without you.''

When the older woman heard this, she laughed just as the Death Swamp Men returned; the leader's creepy voice echoed out. ''I'm sorry, my lord. The A-ranked monsters we found were feeble and newly ranked. We can go search some more if you wish.''

''Don't worry about it, guard this place with the Death Drakes and make sure nothing gets through,'' Dante ordered. ''I'm not bothered about the monsters.''

The Death Swamp Man nodded its large head before sinking into the ground, creeping Luna out as her tail stiffened. He laughed at her reaction and took out some ale, downing a mouthful before offering some to the wolf. ''Here, try some of this, Luna.''

She took it and took a mouthful, only to start coughing thanks to the liquid being strong. It burned her throat. Once the older woman was done, she turned to him with narrowed blue eyes. ''Are you trying to poison me, master? Just like the spicy noodles you made me eat?''

''I didn't make you do anything,'' Dante rejected such a notion. ''You were hungry, so I gave you some spicy food that you couldn't handle. How was I meant to know you'd hate it?''

Following his words, the duo started laughing as the storm worsened overhead, but the canopy was protecting them from the worst of it. He threw more wood into the fire, causing it to erupt into a bonfire. The light flickered, creating dancing shadows that washed over them and their hideout.
