Chapter 367: Who am I, where am I..._2
After completing the issuance of all orders, the commander glanced again at the rapidly descending Dirham, without much worry in his heart.
After all, for pilots like Dirham, as long as they can eject from the cockpit, they have a ninety-nine percent chance of survival.
However, at this moment, Tiram was filled with endless despair.
Looking at the vast ocean below, he resignedly closed his eyes, letting the strong wind tumble him in midair without attempting to adjust his body.
Without a parachute, what good would adjusting his posture do?
Falling into the sea from thousands of meters high is no different from hitting a concrete ground.
No matter how perfect your diving position is, you will absolutely be smashed to pieces instantly!
Indeed, there was no parachute on Dirham at all.
This wasn't a parachute malfunction; it was entirely man-made.
Just when he had separated from the fighter jet, everything seemed so smooth.
He quickly checked everything and found nothing wrong.
Although the fighter was inexplicably shot down, fortunately, he managed to eject successfully.
But before he could revel in his escape from death, a flash of white light appeared before his eyes.
Immediately after, the shoulder strap of the parachute pack on his back inexplicably caught fire.
In a hurry, he frantically tried to pat it out.
However, no matter how he tried, the fire wouldn't extinguish.
There was even a big hole burned in his parachute pack.
One could imagine, the parachute inside was completely ruined.
Even so, he didn't give up, still desperately trying to save the remnants of the parachute.
But as the white light appeared again, the remaining portion of the parachute behind him instantly turned to dust.
At that moment, he was utterly dumbfounded.
His body remained unharmed, yet his parachute was utterly destroyed, just as baffling as his missile turning around to attack him earlier.
But now, no matter what is said, it's too late and unrealistic.
Thud~
A few dozen seconds later, with a splash, Dirham went to meet their God.
Back at the base, an observer responsible for monitoring Delamo suddenly let out a cry.
The nearby commander frowned and looked over.
Then he heard the observer stammering:
"Descend... descend... descended..."
With these words, the commander finally breathed a long sigh of relief, and simultaneously picked up a communicator and said:
"Rescue team start the rescue immediately! Ensure Dirham's safety!!"
However, as he issued this order, everyone on the rescue helicopter was dumbfounded.
They had all seen Dirham enter the water without a parachute, at that altitude and speed, if Dirham were still alive, it would be a world miracle.
But since the boss had given the order, they had no choice but to act quickly.
Heard the squad leader on the rescue helicopter immediately instruct the team members:
"GO! GO! GO! Let's go fish out Delamo's parts! Hopefully, those fish leave us something!"
Meanwhile, in the sky, Lin Yi was hiding among the clouds listening to various intercepted radio signals through the mecha system.
Including the commander's order to send up three more F-15s and to recover Dirham.
At that moment, Lin Yi was in no hurry to leave.
After some thought, he realized this was a rare opportunity.
This was international waters, free of any national law constraints.
And a modern armed force was stationed below.
It was like they came to serve themselves on a platter.
For the past month, he had only used the decomposition and reconstruction system twice, so he could take advantage of this opportunity!
After all, many things here were usually beyond his reach.
Like those three coming F-15s, that's some good stuff!
If he could decompose and reconstruct that, he might end up with a super fighter jet.
Then just hand it over to Ouyang Lei, saving him from constantly nagging for the advanced beam fighter.
With this in mind, Lin Yi couldn't help but rub his hands together, waiting for the three jets to present themselves.
However, to be safe, he shouldn't damage those three machines.
Who knows if a damaged plane would affect the quality of the decomposition and reconstruction.
While thinking this, the roar of engines drew closer from the distance.
Lin Yi was prepared, allowing the mecha system to hack into the radars of the opponent's planes and release false signals on each of their radars.
Instantly, there were three small lights indicating escaping planes on their screens.
Seeing this, they coordinated briefly and split into three to pursue.
One of the planes, incidentally, was heading toward Lin Yi's position.
As he watched the approaching plane, Lin Yi accelerated, rushing toward the plane overhead.
Upon reaching the underside of the plane, Lin Yi synchronized his speed with it, slowly approaching.
Once within reach of the plane's armament, Lin Yi reached out and grabbed it, mentally commanding the system:
"System, got more action! It's another big one, see what we can decompose and reconstruct here? Let's just go ahead with it!"
While hiding within the clouds, Lin Yi had consulted the system about decomposing planes with onboard pilots.
The answer was affirmative.
During decomposition and reconstruction, the system would automatically exclude living beings.
This meant, if someone was in the plane, they'd be excluded during the process.
When the plane decomposed, the pilot would be ejected naked.
Thus, Lin Yi was excited.
At such high altitudes, he wouldn't worry about them revealing any secrets to anyone but God.
Had he known this result, Lin Yi wouldn't have shot down the earlier plane; decomposing it would have been more advantageous!
Now, clinging to the plane's air-to-air missiles, he even turned off his thrusters momentarily.
Energy was precious; saving some was wise.
Yet, the system worked too fast, giving Lin Yi no time to rest.
Just as Lin Yi spoke, his hand suddenly felt weightless.
Before him, the plane vanished instantly.
Standing there instead was a bewildered naked pilot.
With the plane's sudden disappearance, coupled with Lin Yi's deactivated thrusters, both of them began to fall together.
The pilot could only stare blankly at this Iron Man before him, devoid of any added expression.
As he fell, the pilot was in a daze: 'Who am I, where am I ~ Oh shoot ~ I don't want to die... plop!'
"Damn, couldn't you have given me a heads up, system? My back... you're gonna hurt it..."
Frantically commanding the mecha system to start the thrusters, Lin Yi managed to stabilize himself after several somersaults midair, meanwhile listening to the system's voice in his mind while complaining.
