As Lu Zhen, Juan Ke, Xu Man, and even Janna got to work and started helping with unloading of the supplies from the truck, the spectators around them gasped.

Where on earth did they get so many supplies? There was so much food and they could smell meat too.

At this time when no butchery or slaughterhouse had killed even a single chicken for weeks, where did they get the meat?

However, no matter how curious they were, no one came forward to ask any questions. Leng Pan's stunt that morning had scared a lot of people. Even the brave ones were still debating whether to ask or not.

Leng Pan didn't bother with them. Since they didn't ask, she wouldn't volunteer the information.

As they continued to unload supplies, Uncle Li and Lu Tao came down with the usual trolleys.

They started loading the supplies Leng Pan pointed out as their family's and took them upstairs.

Xu Man and his wife lived together with their parents and child. Their family was a little patriarchal, which was why Xu Man had been so chauvinistic.

When his wife had said that she would go out to look for supplies with her husband, her parents-in-law, especially her mother-in-law, had been against it.

"Honey, you must be tired. Why don't I bring the rest of the supplies inside?" Xu Man asked.

This was the first time both his parents and his wife had seen him show affection for her so openly without thinking that it was embarrassing.

Both parties were shocked but Mrs. Xu came back to her senses quickly. She was happy about her husband's change in attitude and she hoped it would last.

"No, there are still so many supplies to bring back. You will be too tired if you do all the work by yourself. If we work together, we can finish faster and have a meal.

I am starving." Mrs. Xu advised because even though her husband had his own shortcomings, he was still a good man and she wanted to face everything together with him.

Xu Man looked at his wife who was worried about him and wondered why he never saw that before? Was he really that blind to his wife's efforts and love for him, or did he just take her for granted?

Xu Man smiled as took his wife's hand in plain view of his parents and those passing in the corridor and walked out with her.

Anyone could tell that the relationship between this couple had become closer than it had ever been since they got married.

It was emotionally closer even more than when they had zero distance between them during intimacy.

Janna also struggled to take her supplies back to her apartment where she had lived with her grandparents.

After Lu Tao finished helping Uncle Li and his brother to take the supplies to their apartment, he went to help Janna, he thought she was too pitiful.

Thus, he helped take the supplies to her house before leaving.

People outside were gossiping about how many supplies they had brought back and others were regretting not having thick skin enough to have followed Lu Zhen's group even if they had been turned down as teammates.

Especially when they smelled the meat, it irked them to no end.

Such a situation brought both admiration and jealousy. Fortunately, no one had the guts to provoke them.

Just as they were about to take the last batch of supplies upstairs, Leng Pan took the opportunity to say to Juan Ke, Xu Man, Janna, and the other neighbor, if someone causes you trouble, "Remember to come find me or my husband.

You will get help. Don't let anyone bully you or take your things."

After she finished speaking, Leng Pan made a beeline for the elevator and went upstairs.
