93 Chapter 93
"Based on the way the conversation is going, you must be a duke right? So, what do you want with me?" Xavier asked coldly while staring at his energy bar.
[Energy: 23/100]
'It's too low, I still haven't even had the chance to rest. I don't need to be told that he's a Duke to know he's powerful...' Xavier thought to himself as he stared at Wolfram.
Xavier's ability to sense an enemy's level of power had grown after evolving. Yet strangely enough, he couldn't feel a thing from the young man standing before him.
It was as if he lived in an entirely different plane. It was vaguely similar to Sangrea who's power was too high for Xavier to properly measure.
"Sangrea is one thing, but you're awfully composed for someone standing in the presence of a Duke."
Xavier scratched the back of his head with an unamused look. "Just cut the chit chat. What do you want?"
"Right... I'll get to the point. What I want is your help." Replied Wolfram as the smile remained on his face.
"Help?" Sangrea asked as she stared at him with narrowed eyes.
*Snap*
Wolfram snapped his fingers and in that moment, two shards from the giant mirror resting over their heads flew in front of them.
The Duke took three steps closer to them before snapping his fingers once more.
*Snap*
The moment he did so, the reflection on the mirror changed from them to the image of a girl sat on a golden throne in a large empty room.
She had short snow right hair which went down to her chin, her eyes were pure bright red and her ears were pointed. She wore a moderately revealing black dress which emphasised on her magnificent curves.
With all being said, even with no one in the room, the air she was giving was one of both royalty and elegance.
'Hm... Her looks are on par with Sangrea... That crown, she must be the queen.'
As the three stared at her, the unexpected happened. The queen's face suddenly turned in their direction as if she somewhat noticed them spying at them.
The expression on Wolfram's face instantly changed into that of fear before he snapped his fingers again, causing the shards the reflection on it to change.
"Her senses are as sharp as always.." Wolfram muttered to himself with narrowed eyes.
He then back to Xavier who still had the same unamused look. Beside him Sangrea could be seen quite surprised.
'At least one of them is reacting normally...' Wolfram thought to himself.
"I'm sure you both already know, but that was the queen."
"I noticed, what of it?" Xavier asked.
'Most people don't even get to see the queen and that's how he reacts?'
*Ahem*
Wolfram cleared his throat before continuing.
"My request regards her... You see, I want you to kill the queen."
Sangrea's exploded with surprise, she looked over at Xavier before looking back over at Wolfram with an expression you'd make when hearing nonsense.
"...Is this a set up to see if we're an enemy to the queen? No... The order has already been approved by the queen to execute us, there's no changing it now... Meaning he really wants to kill the queen.'
Xavier's expression remained the same, he didn't utter a word. Meanwhile Sangrea clapped her hands together as she realised something.
"You want to make use of the war and apocalypse to take over the throne, is that right?" Sangrea with a smile.
"You're quick on the uptake. That's right. I want to ascend to the throne and to do so, I'm willing to work with you and betray the queen."
"You realise that defeating the queen is impossible even for you."
A grin widened on Wolfram's face. "Impossible if I'm by myself, but I've been watching him. If it's him, he should be able to do it if he carries on growing as he has. Isn't that right, gluttony?"
Sangrea turned over to Xavier with a confused look.
'Gluttony? One of the seven deadly sins? Why is he reffering to Xavier as-'
Sangrea's brows then raised up as it all began to click. Xavier's unbelievable rate of growth, his never-ending hunger, his overpowered nature.
His ability was Gluttony, he was a wielder of one of the seven deadly sins.
"I never thought a wielder of one of the Seven deadly sins would be in england. Much less an ordinary Vampire. I mean who would have expected it? Not once in Vampire history did such a thing happen..."
Sangrea was speechless she felt like an idiot for not noticing sooner.
"Although this happening might have something to do with that giant sphere in the sky... It's appearance also allowed most humans to awaken and ability and strengthened the abilities of Vampire's so maybe it has something to do with that..."
Wolfram began theorising to himself with his hand beneath his chin.
"Ah- Sorry. Went off topic. But yeah, what's your response? Will you help me? I'll be able to offer you any information necessary from within this dimension as long as we agree to cooper-"
Before Wolfram could finish, Xavier interrupted by taking a step forward.
"Hey... You're doing it wrong." Said Xavier as he glared coldly at him. "That's not the way you should ask someone for help, is it?"
Xavier placed his hands on his pockets while looking up at Wolfram who towered over him.
"Get on your hands and knees and beg properly." Commanded Xavier as he stared him straight in the eyes.
"Haha... I don't like your attitude." Said Wolfram with a smile.
Despite his smile a vein was clearly bulging out of the side of his forehead. He was angered by this.
[Energy: 23/100]
'System, whenever I rewind I face a penalty of energy reduction. What happens if I don't have enough energy to rewind?'
[System Warning: Penalty is a 10% Reduction of total energy per rewind. If the User does not have 10% of energy available during death then Rewind will not activate.]
'And I'll die for good. Glad to get that out of the way.'
Xavier let out a sigh.
"So what if you don't like it? What are you going to do about it?"
Sangrea was surprised by Xavier's response, he knew that the Wolfram was both a Duke and stronger and yet he wasn't afraid. Did he have some sort of plan to beating him in mind?
"Are you underestimating a Duke...?" Wolfram responded as he stepped up. Despite smiling the veins bulging from his neck and forehead indicated nothing but anger.
The two were now face to face. "I'm not asking you for help because I'm weaker than you. I could kill you right now and there'd be nothing you could do about it. Don't forget we're in my domain, I know you're tired from all the fighting."
"Why not test that out?" Xavier asked with a grin. "Go ahead and try. Just know the moment you do, I will kill you."
That was Wolfram's last straw, he instantly motioned his hand to snap his finger. But the moment he did-
*Slash!*
His entire body was cut in half. While flopping to the floor, he glanced at Sangrea standing behind Xavier and noticed that behind her was a scythe sinking into her expanded shadow.
"I avoided attacking you out of respect. But to think you'd dare try something against my husband in my presence. Have you gone mad?" Sangrea asked as she glared coldly at him.
*Shatter*
The second his split body landed on the floor it shattered.
"You truly are fast... You've got yourself a good wife, Xavier." Said Wolfram.
Turning over to the source which was behind him, they watched as one of the mirror shards slowly took the shape of his figure.
"But it's useless, we're in my domain." Said Wolfram. "I can't die here."
The two didn't respond nor did they seem to care. They just stood there, waiting for him to make a move as if daring him. There crimson eyes locked onto him without a hint of fear.
"Maybe I should show you... Just what happens when you incur the wrath of a Duke..." Wolfram muttered as he took off his glasses.
The mirror shards in the ceiling instantly began to spin around and expand. The air within the room slowly grew heavier and denser as wave of bloodlust rushed towards them.
As the two got ready for a battle, their eyes narrowed as in the next second, Wolfram stuck out his tongue with a smile on his face.
"Just joking. I never planned on harming either of you, I was sending you both back. Besides, you'll both be of use to me whether you want it or not." Said Wolfram with a smile. "One day you'll surely end up fighting the queen, and when that day comes I'll be rooting for you."
"What?" Sangrea was confused by his sudden change in deameanor.
"Have a safe trip back." Said Wolfram as he waved at them.
*Snap*
And at the snap of the finger the two vanished from the room leaving him on his own.
'Xavier is one thing but Sangrea... She's only ever used a fraction of her power since the seal is removed...'
'She's the daughter of the arch-duke so there's definitely more to her power that's why there was even a seal in the first place... even if I can kill that imprudent husband of hers. There's no telling how she'd react.'
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to find out... Why they sealed that girl as a child...'
"Hahaha... Hahahaha! Ah... I can't wait to watch them purge themselves one after the other." He muttered with a blushing grin.
