82 Chapter 82
Right before the arrows could collide with her and explode. The arrows halted in the middle of the air, instantly freezing before dropping to the ground and shattering.
"What!?" Questioned the archer as she quickly reloaded another arrow.
The three swordsman which were falling towards her had all witnessed this. The signal black haired girl leading them glanced at both of them mid-air, and they nodded.
*Fwoosh!*
The two men rotated their bodies mid-air until their feet were parallel to one another before thrusting their legs and kicking off one another.
The force from the kick sent them both flying in opposite directions towards the buildings, leaving behind the leader.
The signal black haired with her long sword in the motion of a swing heading down for the snow princess.
[Blue Flame Manipulation...]
Her irises began to glow brightly as her sword's blade lit up in blue flames. Steam was gathering around her blade as they rain drops crashed against it, but the flame didn't die out.
[Burning Blade.]
*CLANG!*
The moment the captain reached the snow princess, she swung her flaming blade down with everything she had.
But right before she could even reach her, she halted in the middle of the air, as she came into contact with some sort of invisible barrier.
Her sword wouldn't barely budge as it dug into this invisible wall of sorts and an uncontrollable amount of steam was being released from it.
It was then and there that she realised it, the air around the snow princess was so cold and thick that it froze whatever tried to get close to it.
The captains flames were also weakened by rain making it less effective but that wasn't a problem for her. The more heat and power she put into it, the closer it got to shattering.
[Zero Ice Manipulation: Zero Execution Hammer.]
A hammer of ice instantly formed above the captain's head before swinging down on it. Meanwhile, blue flames burst out of the captain's feet propelling her away from it.
*SWOOSH!*
The axe passed in between her legs as she soared through the air backwards before sliding on the trail of ice behind her.
"Everyone, buy me some time to charge up. She has some sort of barrier put up so regular attacks won't work, don't get close and launch any projectiles you can."
<Roger.> They responded.
And just like that, while keeping their distance, they began to launch attacks at the snow princess who hadn't yet taken a single step.
A barrage of arrows rained down on the snow princess, none of them hitting her as they all halted before contact.
Blades of winds boosted by the extremely windy conditions were blasted towards her, but once again, neither damaged her as they failed to break through the thick layer of cold air.
Even the tank was firing off chunks of the buildings at her, in order to break through but they were all being stopped.
But it was all fine, after all the main objective was to buy the captain time. And fortunately for them she seemed to almost be ready.
The size of her blue flames had expanded two meters up into the air and two meters to the side.
Seeing the size of the flames, the squadron members were starting to think they had a chance.
That was until...
*Sigh*
"You still don't understand..."
"My blood is royal blood. My ability far surpasses those of the nobles... And to think of defeating me within this climate... It's simply foolish."
*Snap*
The snow princess snapped her fingers, and in that instant, everyone's eyes widened.
The water from the flood beneath the snow princess had frozen stiff, spikes rose out of it and were directed to each of them. But that wasn't what had caught their eyes.
"T-The rain..." The archer muttered as her mouth trembled.
In just an instant, right before their very eyes, all of the rain drops had suddenly halted mid-air in the form of ice.
Completely surrounded and with nowhere to hide, the ice drops crashed against them freezing all of them in their spots.
All of them except for the captain who melted the ice drops with the presence of her blue flames, her attack was fully charged up, a four-meter tall and wide flame.
"Captain!! Go kick her ass!!"
"Show her whose boss, captain!!"
"Make her feel the pain and strength of us humans!!!" Her squad cheered.
She kicked off the ground, charging down the ice trail towards the snow princess with everything she had. With every step, the ice from the trail tried spreading up her feet to stop her, but she simply broke through.
[Azure Flame Manipulation: Azure Flame Burst!]
Flames burst out of her feet, propelling her down the ice path as she positioned her flaming sword pointing it towards the snow princess.
The surrounding ice drops from the rain bundled together, creating countless ice spikes, spears, swords and all sorts of weapons around.
Those very same weapons were propelled all propelled at the captain at high speeds.
*SLASH!* *CRASH!* *SLASH!*
Her body, soared through the air, spinning left and right as she tried to avoid as many as she could.
Unfortunately for her, there were simply too many to completely avoid. Cuts and bruises were forming all over her body, as the weapons slashed through and past her.
But that did not stop her.
She grit her teeth, holding in the pain as she glared at snow princess who'd yet to sustain a hit or change the emotionless expression on her face.
"Aargh!!!" She shouted, as the flames bursting out of her feet exploded, giving her the final push once she was just ahead of her.
*PIERCE!*
Almost instantly upon reaching her, her sword pierced through the thick cold ice layer, shattering it a second later as she broke through.
The captain's chest flooded with hope as all that was left was one final burst form her feet to propel her sword through the snow princess's chest.
But in that moment, she heard the archer's voice calling out to her through the microphone.
<A-Above us!! C-Captain!!>
The moment instant she pierced through the snow princess's chest, her heart sank.
Above their heads, plumetting towards them was the tip of a giant ice berg, the size of two or maybe even three apartments.
*Pierce!*
And upon piercing through the princess's chest, she was overwhelmed with despair as the princess's figure shattered. It wasn't the real body, it was a fake.
"DAMN IT!!!" The captain yelled out
*CRASSSHHHH!!!!!*
*BOOOOOOOOOM!!!*

"What the hell is happening over there?" Xavier asked as he glanced through the window.
With his Vampiric sight, he was able to witness the giant iceberg falling down on a part of the city. It had manifested right beneath the clouds.
"The iceberg... There's no mistaking it, that's the snow princess." Responded Sophie.
The two were resting in the living room, while waiting for the food to cook. Xavier had a feeling that he would have been assassinated in his sleep he stayed in Anastasia's room any longer, even if he was just staying in the kitchen.
Xavier felt like doing it for the fun of it but he didn't want to ruin his relationship with her.
Xavier tilted his head to the side with a confused expression. "Who's the snow princess?" He asked.
Sophie was surprised by Xavier's question, she thought he was joking at first but then remembered it hadn't been long since he'd become a Vampire.
"The Vampire princess is a wielder of the ice element, Zero Ice. Everyone has heard about her ability to control ice, it's unparalleled and simply illogical. If anyone can manipulate ice like that, it has to be her."
"Vampire Princess, so she's related to the queen, right?" Xavier asked.
"That's right, she's the queen's younger sister." Sophie replied.
"Hm... Why didn't she become the queen? Is she weaker than the queen?" Xavier asked.
Sophie nodded her head.
"In terms of power, the queen is on a whole other level. That doesn't mean the princess is weak, she's one of the strongest in the country."
"And she didn't become the queen because she lost the battle for the throne."
Xavier placed his hand beneath his chin.
"Hm... So there's battle for the thrones in the Vampire Worlds as well... One of the strongest in the country... Like top 5? I'm pretty sure royalty is the strongest after the ancestors right?"
Sophie narrowed her eyes while stretching out her legs on the couch.
"That's a good question... You'd think that but there are still some very powerful nobles able to match her power, although the number is very few. So I wouldn't put her top 5... Oh and they're one of the three royals left in the country. As far as the Vampire public knows at least."
'So there's nobles able to match the power of a royal Vampire? That's interesting.'
"Wait, three royals? Who's the third." Xavier asked.
"The Young Vampire Prince. He's the youngest of the three, but he's still far older than you or me." Responded Sophie.
'The Young Vampire Prince?' Xavier questioned.
