74 Chapter 74
*Drip* *Drip*
Blood dripped down the cut on her cheek for a few seconds before her wound quickly stopping as her wound closed.
Before her eyes, stood Xavier no longer bound by her threads and now free to move around freely. On his body there were no visible injuries, none at all.
And in his arms were two different coloured blades which were draining his blood.
As she felt the bloodlust directed at her, only one thought passed by her mind.
'I wish I'd never accepted this bounty.'

[+ 3 Sense added.]
'So Vampire halfling's give stamina... Makes sense since they're half human... Now to deal with that girl-'
*CRASH!*
Xavier kicked off the food shelf behind him, instantly appearing before the luminous orange haired Vampire with a swing in motion directed at her neck.
*CLANG!*
Xavier's swing was slowed by the threads set in place around her before being stopped completely by a bundle of threads intertwined in the shape of a shield.
[Thread Manipulation: Bundle Of Threads – Shield.]
*Flick*
The Orange haired Vampire flicked her finger, forcing the surrounding threads to close in on Xavier to immobilise him once more.
*SWOOSH!*
Yet despite her attempt, Xavier's figure went nowhere close to being caught as he disappeared from her line of sight.
Turning her head back, she found Xavier mid-air right beside her with another swing drawing closer to her neck.
'He's faster!'
*FWOOSH!*
Avoiding by a hair's margin she ducked past the first swing before leaping back on the second one, thrusting her arms out and forcing all the threads to enclose themselves on Xavier as a counter.
*SLING!*
Xavier threw his sword, his figure disappearing once again right before he was caught by the threads.
*SWOOSH!*
The girl, stepped to the left, towards her shield causing Xavier's sword to miss and go sliding off to the distance while she swung her head to the left in search of him.
She knew that whatever position he'd reverted to would be to her left since that was where he'd initially been, and just like she'd expected-
*STEP!*
there he was, emerging with a step from beside her shield of threads with a red glint in his crimson eyes. He was right where she wanted him.
[Thread Manipulation: Bundle Of Threads – Hammer]
The threads bundled up together taking the shape of a giant hammer in almost an instant before swinging itself down at Xavier. In the same instance, Xavier threw his only remaining sword at her before placing his arms overhead to block the hammers impact.
The Vampire girl who saw his blade heading right for her head, took a step back and swayed to the side to avoid it. And in that exact moment, Xavier grinned.
*CRASH!*
The hammer slammed down at him from above, his arms which were occupied holding it up to prevent it from crushing him left his body completely exposed in the process.
Her eyes lit up as she thrust her arms forward, it was her win.
'Now to finish him off-'
*PIERCE!*
Her thoughts were interrupted by a surge of pain which surged through her body forcing her to halt in her spot.
With a confused expression and blood flowing out of her mouth, she looked down only to find her sides impaled by one of Xavier's swords.
'Both of my lungs were pierced... Since when...? How...?'
Her eyes then widened when she realised. It was the first sword which Xavier had thrown which she had avoided. It turned out he couldn't just revert the position of himself but also objects which he wielded.
"This... This is unfair... *Cough*" She muttered as she flicked her fingers, getting the threads the wrap themselves around the handle and pull the sword out.
*CRASH!*
Unfortunately for her, it was already too late. The thread hammer holding Xavier down ended up crashing into the ground as his figure was no longer there, instead it was right before her.
"Wai-"
*SLAM!*
Xavier's grabbed her neck mid leap before slamming her against the ground.
*CRASH!*
The floor beneath her cracked as she gasped for air. Veins bulged out of Xavier's hands as he tightened his grip, she struggled trying to push him off but no matter what she did he wouldn't budge.
"Use your threads, I kill you. Keep struggling I kill you. You are to answer my questions, understood?"
With tears streaming down her eyes she gave Xavier a slight nod. After doing so, she stopped struggling.
Seeing this, Xavier loosened his grip and not even a second later, she was gasping for air while coughing at the same time.
*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*
"Grit your teeth." Said Xavier.
The girl showed him a confused expression when all of the sudden-
*Splatter!*
Xavier pulled the sword and blade right out of her sides, forcing her to let out a loud pained squeal.
After looking around to check for ghouls Xavier looked back down at her teary figure. Her eyes were watery, her slim body was shaking in fear as the wound quickly closed.
For some reason, with her teary sparkling eyes she somehow looked even cuter than before.
'She's cute, almost too cute. It's a shame I have to kill her.' Xavier sighed. 'Ahh... This depressing. I'll make it painless.'
"So, first question. Who sent you?" Xavier asked.
The girl glared at him with her crimson red eyes for a few seconds before looking away in fear and muttering. "I'm a bounty hunter... No one sent me... There was a bounty placed on you and so I went after it..."
Xavier frowned.
"Do you know who placed the bounty?"
The girl shook her head.
"It was anonymous but based on the reward it was an influential family with a lot of power... Maybe One of the families of the nobles you took out in the camp...?"
"How do you know about that?"
The girl narrowed her eyes.
"Who doesn't? An event of that scale will have rumours spreading like flies... If it wasn't because of the war, you'd be getting flooded by other hunters and assassins... Also, basic information like that was put alongside your bounty."
"I see... So, what was the reward for you and that dumbass risking your lives to come and kill me?" Xavier asked with a cold look in his face.
