Chapter 3: Chapter 2
The man, who had been clad entirely in black groaned painfully and slowly opened his eyes.
He weakly looked around and found himself in what looked like a non-naturally made cave.
'Where is this?'
He thought as he slowly tried to sit up but each and every movement made his entire body ache, and his wounds open again.
"Fuck!"
He swore but pushed himself to a standing position, he was used to wounds and injuries which can be seen by all the scars riddling his body peeking out through his trashed robe.
"I need to fix this fast!"
He decided as he felt the newly opened wounds start spewing cold blood down his body, and that's where he realised something else.
"Why am I wet? Shit, I don't care. I need to survive."
Where he was laying, was a pool of water, and his clothes were drenched.
His previous bloody appearance washed up, which means he had probably been dumped into a body of water to get rid of the body.
"I still live! I will live to destroying them!"
He laughed as he thought of the Namgung Clan and the various faces he remembered from his attack.
Feeling he might not have so much time left by the amount of blood escaping his body, he slowly began limping his way through what looked like a man-made cave walkway in the cave.
After a painful while of walking, he arrived at a massive overbearing gate.
"I have seen these carvings before!"
He remembered as he stared at the huge carvings of a demon head with horns on both doors.
A mark that only one specific faction dared to use as their banner.
The demonic cult, or the official name, The Heavenly Demon Divine Cult.
He remembers that demon face so well, as he fought in the great purge, and many times fought to the death with their members.
Instead of feeling a repulse and disgust as he felt before when he saw that, he now felt it pulling him in.
Taking in the majestic and horrifying demon as he slowly pushed the heavy stone gate open.
With a loud creaking sound, he opened it just enough for him to fit through and entered.
"Maybe I can survive this."
He held onto the tiniest bit of hope for survival and revenge as he ventured deeper into the pitch-black room behind the gate.
"My wounds are getting worse, and I can't see anything."
"Will I really die here?"
He lamented as he kept limping ahead, but with a loud clicking sound, he felt the stone tile he stepped on push down.
"Shit! A trap!?"
He recoiled as fast as he could but before he had time to do anything, instead of it being a trap torches started flaring to life all around him.
"I must just go. My wounds can't take me being idle anymore."
Finding himself in what looked like a throne room, he continued up to the throne only to find something scribed into the backrest.
'You who will succeed me, with the items in the room behind the throne, I wish upon you a great reign as the Heavenly Demon.'
Reading it all, he could se that it was inscribed with such intense internal energy that it still lingered on the text.
"For him to have written this with his finger, how strong must his internal energy be?"
Thinking about it as he ventured behind the chair and found an opening to a huge room.
Entering it and he saw piles of gold, weapons, Armor and piles of books.
"Seems like this was put here in somewhat of a rush."
He though as everything was just laying on the ground all over the black chamber.
"Well, he wasn't the most feared man in Jianghu for no reason."
"Kehk!"
The man spat up so much blood that he really doesn't think he will survive taking many more steps.
He quickly looked around and found some more text etched into the wall.
Quickly arriving he read it.
"My successor. Take this pill, I highly doubt your in the best condition. The Great Rejuvenation Pill will give you a new footing in the world."
Looking at the small hole in the wall where a thumb size brown pellet was laying, he couldn't believe what he had read.
Still, steeling himself he decided to risk it because of his injuries.
"Here it goes!"
Feeling him starting to lose consciousness, he quickly takes it and props it into his mount.
Sitting down in a meditative position as he swallows it.
"Aghh!"
The pain of trying to circulate the effects of the pill with a destroyed dantian was the worst he had ever felt.
Somewhere along the line, he lost consciousness due to the immense pain.
After a couple of hours, the man quickly opens his eyes with an alert and energised look.
"I'm alive!?"
He thought as he quickly tried to feel his internal energy, witch to his absolute hope, he could feel.
"Yes! Hahaha, Thank you Lord Heavenly Demon!"
He laughed like a lunatic as he felt that his dantian had repaired and his internal energy had almost completely vanished, but the quality was abnormal.
Slowly taking a deep breath to calm himself he stood up.
"I can hardly be called a third-rate martial artist right now, but the quality of my Internal energy is absurdly high."
Looking down at his body he found that all his wounds were gone, he had grown taller and his skin had become pristine white.
Slowly feeling his hair, he felt it had grown out to his shoulders and the texture was that of luxurious silk.
"I had heard legends about the Great Rejuvenation pill, and that it could reconstruct your body. I didn't think it was true."
He thought as he felt the power in his muscles and the precise control he had over his body.
Steeling himself as he looked at the text from the former Heavenly Demon.
"From now on, I am Xie Tian, and I will resurrect the Heavenly Demon Divine Cult, so I can rightfully earn the title you have passed on!"
"I will take down those hypocritical righteous bastards and unify the entire Jianghu!"
