Reverend Insanity: The Gacha System

Chapter 40: Complete Destruction Path

Yue Shiyin sat cross-legged in her room, her white hair cascading over her shoulders and contrasting with her sharp black eyes that seemed to pierce the void. The room was dimly lit, with only the flickering light of a small oil lamp casting shadows on the walls. Her breathing was steady as she was in a meditative trance.

She opened her eyes, exhaling deeply, a small smile forming on her face as she released the breath slowly. "Finally, to think it would take only 2 years for me to completely master the Destruction Path, now my attainment in Destruction Path is at Grandmaster." Due to her completely integrating Human, and Rule Path, she finally completed it.

This path actually needs a total of 10 paths: Strength Path, Fire Path, Space Path, Time Path, Darkness Path, Sound Path, Metal Path, and Earth Path. She had enough understanding of these paths before she came to this world and she had lived for more than 2000 years. It's just that she only comprehended the Rule and Human Path after she came to this world, and while her mastery in these paths remains at Quasi-Master level, their combined insights serve as a sufficient foundation to synergize with her extensive understanding of other paths, ultimately allowing her to complete the Destruction Path.

"It has been two years since I got my memories back, and I am still in Rank 4 Middle Stage. I don't know when I can become a Gu Immortal, and there is no evidence of a proper Gu Immortal alive. Sigh," she muttered to herself.

"Up to now, I still don't know who killed me back in my previous world. Let's just forget about it. I need to refine my first Destruction Path Gu Worm, and I need to go and collect materials for it from the contribution hall." As the thought crossed her mind, she rose gracefully from her seated position, her movements fluid and deliberate.

Yue Shiyin adjusted her robes, their dark fabric contrasting starkly with her pale complexion, and stepped out of her room. The hallway was quiet, the air thick with the scent of aged wood and faint incense. She made her way towards the contribution hall.

Yue Shiyin pushed open the heavy wooden doors of the contribution hall, her sharp black eyes scanning the vast interior. The hall was grand and imposing, its high ceilings adorned with intricate carvings depicting battles and triumphs of the sect's ancestors. Rows upon rows of shelves and cabinets stretched endlessly, filled with countless rare and exotic materials—each a treasure that could pave the way to greatness for the right Gu Master.

Unlike others who relied on assistance from the hall's attendants, Yue Shiyin preferred to select her materials personally. Her path, the Destruction Path, does not exist in this world.

Her steps echoed softly as she walked down the aisles, her mind cataloging what she needed. The materials she sought weren't merely components—they were reflections of the ten paths that formed the foundation of her Destruction Path. Each one had to resonate with her vision.

She reached a shelf marked with a faint glow, where a set of fiery red stones lay encased in translucent boxes. Picking one up, she inspected its vibrant hue. "Inferno Core Shard," she murmured.

Further down, she found Space Essence Crystals, their dark surfaces pulsating with faint traces of spatial energy. She placed a handful into her pouch.

Next, she located Shattered Echo Dust, a material renowned for its ability to amplify sound into devastating waves. As her fingers grazed the container, she felt its sharp resonance, a perfect addition for enhancing destruction through sound.

She continued, selecting Obsidian Fragments; Time Flux Dew; and Eternal Dark Petals, which radiated potent darkness path energy.

As she made her way to the counter, the attendant behind it raised an eyebrow at the collection. "These are some rare and volatile materials, Inner Disciple Yue," the elder remarked, his tone carrying a mix of curiosity and caution. "You must be preparing for something significant."

Yue Shiyin offered a faint smile but said nothing as she handed over her contribution token. The elder placed it on the jade platform, and a flash of light signaled the deduction of her points. "These materials will cost you 1,200 contribution points," he said.

She nodded, unbothered by the cost. "I understand," she replied, taking the materials and carefully placing them into her pouch.

As she left the hall, her mind was already racing with ideas. "With these materials, I will craft the first Gu Worm of the Destruction Path," she thought, her lips curling into a confident smile.

As Yue Shiyin stepped out of the contribution hall, her thoughts were interrupted by the hurried steps of a junior disciple. The young girl approached her with an excited yet nervous expression, clutching a parchment scroll tightly in her hands.

"Senior Sister Yue!" the girl called out, bowing deeply before handing her the scroll. "It's been announced on the sect's notice board—you've been named this generation's Fairy!"

Yue Shiyin froze for a moment, her sharp black eyes narrowing in disbelief. "What did you say?" she asked, her voice calm but edged with skepticism.

The junior disciple beamed, nodding eagerly. "It's true! Your contributions, strength, and achievements have earned you the title of this generation's Fairy. The Sect Leader herself signed the decree."

"I knew it would happen and I would become the Fairy, but I didn't think it would be this fast." Yue Shiyin thought as she gave a shocked expression on the outside.

The title of "Fairy" was not just a superficial accolade. It was a mantle of immense prestige, granting the bearer more influence and resources within the sect. More than that, it marked her as the sect's foremost representative and future leader.

"Congratulations, Senior Sister Yue!" the junior disciple said earnestly.

Yue Shiyin looked at the young girl, her expression unreadable. "Thank you," she replied simply, her tone measured. "I suppose I have more responsibilities to shoulder now."

"Fu*k, this sh*t. I don't need this position but what can I do, I am so unlucky the moment I got my full memories back these Fairy and all nonsense started. I think someone knows about me and did it plot against me or to keep an eye on me from creating my destruction path." she thought internally.

As the junior disciple bowed and left, Yue Shiyin stood alone. She gazed at the horizon, where the setting sun cast a golden glow over the sect grounds.

Her black eyes gleamed with a dangerous light as she turned and headed back to her quarters. The announcement would undoubtedly stir the sect, and her next moves would have to be calculated carefully from now on.
