Return to the City: The Strongest King

Chapter 1414: A Strike That Worked

Song Xiaodong's spear could pierce the skin of the giant serpent, but the serpent was simply too thick. Even if the spear penetrated, it didn't inflict much substantial damage on them; instead, it only provoked their ferocity, making their attack on Song Xiaodong even more vicious.

A giant serpent's tail swept through the crowd during its swing, akin to crushing dry leaves. Several people were directly flung into the air and slammed against the cave walls, beginning to cough up large amounts of blood, clearly suffering severe internal injuries.

"You bunch of idiots, don't you know how to dodge?" Song Xiaodong couldn't help but curse angrily.

This time, those people were no longer as dumbstruck as before. Several immediately ran towards the edge of the cave, leading the rest to hurriedly follow suit.

However, from their steps, Song Xiaodong felt they resembled anything but Kung Fu masters at this moment. Their legs were wobbly, and a few even stumbled, leaving Song Xiaodong speechless.

Song Xiaodong realized that counting on these people was hopeless, so he ignored them and focused wholeheartedly on dealing with the two giant serpents.

Attacking the body of the serpents was evidently futile, so Song Xiaodong began targeting other parts of the serpents, starting with their heads.

But the serpent's skull was too hard, and his spear couldn't penetrate it, only causing his hands to throb in pain from the impact.

However, the serpent's eyes clearly wouldn't be as hard, so Song Xiaodong chose them as his target.

But this serpent was evidently a creature of Spiritual Communication, dodging nimbly every time Song Xiaodong thrust his spear towards its eyes, swiftly evading his attacks and making him miss several times.

The more this happened, the more Song Xiaodong was convinced this spot was the serpent's weakest point, growing more confident in his strategy.

As one serpent opened its jaws wide to bite them, his spear wavered in hand and thrust directly towards the serpent's head.

The serpent didn't care and continued its motion to bite Song Xiaodong.

At this moment, Song Xiaodong's spear suddenly changed direction, directly stabbing towards one of the serpent's eyes.

Even though the serpent reacted quickly, it was just an animal, after all, a snake with an underdeveloped brain, unable to understand feints, and it was too late to dodge.

The serpent closed its eyelids, attempting to protect its eye with them.

But this thrust from Song Xiaodong was charged with energy, and the serpent's eyelids were simply inadequate to protect its eye. The spear pierced through the eyelid, deeply embedding itself into the eye.

Having succeeded with one strike, Song Xiaodong swiftly leapt back, simultaneously avoiding an attack from the other giant serpent.

The serpent's eye proved to be its weakest spot, and now, injured, it was in excruciating pain. It began rolling crazily on the ground, causing dust to fly, making it impossible for anyone to approach.

"Bang!" The wounded serpent collided with the other serpent. Such incidents happened frequently before, but collisions typically didn't provoke much reaction.

This time, however, was different. The wounded serpent went completely mad, biting its companion's body fiercely.

The bitten serpent, in pain, immediately turned to bite the injured serpent.

The two serpents went mad, biting each other wildly. Their bodies twisted together like a braid, and this braid continued to writhe and roll, affecting several other serpents that had just swallowed people.

Those serpents didn't join the fight, but instead slithered away, entering the cave again through the hole through which they came.

With five serpents gone, the space inside the cave suddenly felt much roomier. The two remaining serpents, although not actively attacking people, were still causing destructive damage to everything nearby as they rolled around. Song Xiaodong and his group quickly moved farther away from the two serpents to avoid accidental harm, and fortunately, this time, without Song Xiaodong's orders, everyone obediently hid.

The stamina of those two giant serpents was remarkably formidable; it was unclear how long it took before they finally determined the victor.

The serpent with the injured eye was ultimately no match for the other serpent and was strangled to death.

To Song Xiaodong and the others' astonishment, in full view, the other serpent began to swallow its kind whole, bite by bite.

Song Xiaodong was aware of snakes eating snakes, having even seen it on video before, but to witness a serpent of equal size devouring another, the shock was indescribable.

After consuming the massive prey, the serpent didn't even glance at Song Xiaodong and the others, slithering into the cave entrance through which it came. With the disappearance of its tail, the large cave no longer harbored that terrifying monster.

Song Xiaodong immediately shouted, "Quick, come seal this hole."

This time, everyone quickly rushed over. There was originally a large rock there, meant to block the entrance. The people of this wild village intentionally opened it earlier, trying to use the giant serpents to drive away the Lin Family and Zhou Family.

Everyone worked together to seal the entrance, then collectively let out a long sigh of relief.
