Return of the Mythic Bloodline

My head felt heavy, my eyes were barely open, and I was tremendously losing the strength in my legs.

"Why am I feeling so weak?" I mumbled as I began to fall.

A hand grabbed me by the waist, preventing me from hitting the ground.

"Kid, yer not in condition to walk. Take some rest."

After spending so many days in Ume's memories, I had forgotten that my body was utterly exhausted. And it wasn't just me—Vyaghra was barely standing, Nymeria's breathing was irregular, and Jambavan, whose whole body was crushed, was the most injured among us.

"You're right. Let's rest for some time," I whispered as I lay on the ground.

Vyaghra and Jambavan sat in lotus position and began healing their wounds, while Nymeria sat beside me, hugged her sword to her chest, and fell asleep.

"Vivi, claim the reward for the previous quest," I said inwardly as I patted Ume, who was sleeping on me.

"Host's authority rises..."

"What the f—" I almost shouted but controlled myself, not wanting to disturb everyone. Her sudden voice in my head startled me.

"Vivi, deactivate the Audio Mode."

"Is there something wrong with my voice, Host?"

"What kind of response is that?" I thought inwardly. "Why am I feeling anxious to answer this question?"

I sighed and replied, "There isn't anything wrong with your voice, Vivi. It's just that your voice is way too mellifluous—it felt like a cute girl whispering in my ears."

"Disabling the Audio Mode," the voice echoed, and then the holographic window appeared again.

"I wonder what that was about," I murmured, shifting my focus to the second feature as I clicked it.

"Bloodline Awakening Meter is enabled."

"Vivi, if my manifested blood is 0%, then how are you sure that I carry this mythic bloodline?"

"Manifested Blood refers to the real blood of the Host's bloodline, which was sealed and degenerated."

"Error! The Host doesn't have enough authority to access this information."

"Sigh, forget it. Show me the last feature."

"Whoa, my stats have certainly increased by leaps and bounds," I gasped, looking at the screen. All my stats had increased by over 100, and my Voice of Tranquility and Lightning Bolt skills had also leveled up, even though I didn't get mya notification for that—or maybe I did, but didn't notice.

"Wait a minute!" I shouted inwardly. "I don't have any physical injuries thanks to Ruru's blessing. I'm feeling weak because I've exhausted my Soulforce." I pushed myself into a sitting position as I theorized, "My core right now is full of cursed Soulforce, so what if I only convert enough of it into pure Soulforce to remove this exhaustion?"

I took the lotus position, closed my eyes, and began the conversion.

"Conversion of Soulforce has started...

As the pure Soulforce entered my body, the exhaustion began fading away.

The reason? Because my theory was correct. This conversion technique, combined with Ruru's blessing, could restore me to my peak form within minutes even if I were on the verge of death. I left the remaining cursed Soulforce in my core so I could use it in a crisis.

"Sometimes you creep me out more than those cursed beasts," Nymeria muttered, gazing at me with one eye.

"You're already awake?" I asked.

"How can I sleep when you're gleaming with that hideous smirk?"

"Hey, you're hurting my feelings there."

I looked at her, then raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Is it just me, or has your appearance really changed?"

"You noticed?"

"Of course, it's quite obvious. Your silver hair is shinier than ever, your skin has turned even fairer, and your eyes..."

"What about my eyes?"

"They look even more beautiful than before."

Her milk-pale cheeks bloomed into a strawberry blush as she tried to hide behind her sword's hilt—but that only made her look cuter.

"Why are you turning into a rosebud?" I teased, leaning closer to her.

"This is my real appearance," she blurted. "Gumiho's seal is completely undone, so my Soulforce has returned. However..."

She quickly changed the topic. "What have you done? The depth of your Soulforce has increased again."
