Return of the Mythic Bloodline

Chapter 161: Solo vs Squad

Gajendra bolted forward, his eyes locked on me and his whole body hidden behind the massive shield.

I extended my hand forward, stopping the incoming train-like pavise.

The instant it stopped, Feralin emerged from the top of the shield, her paws diving straight for the glasses.

"Nice strategy but very slow," I mumbled, ducking low.

Surprisingly, as her hands touched the ground behind me, she bent her legs and stretched them in a flashing burst of speed, aiming for my head.

At the same time, Gajendra swung his trunk horizontally from the front.

An amused smile coiled on my face. I pushed the ground and leapt upward, dodging their synced attack.

Amidst the air, I felt the Soulforce pressure rising behind me. Instinctively, I stretched my legs in a 180, and a straight yellow laser shot from the stage, passing just inches below my balls.

"H-how did he dodge that?" Vyrion muttered, his sword pointed at me—the one that had just let out that strange laser.

As I landed, the first thing I did was extend my trousers to make sure my balls were fine.

"Huff, they are safe," I said with a brief sigh.

"Meoww!! So shameless!" Feralin shouted, her hand flying to her flustered face.

"Say that to your man who is aiming for my balls," I replied, shrugging my shoulders.

"Th-that swindler isn't my man!"

"Th-that ferocious cat isn't my woman!"

Both Feralin and Vyrion shouted at the same time, their faces turning red.

"Even your reactions are in sync—"

While I was teasing them, a flaming arrow tearing through the air reached my temple from the side.

Before it could strike the glasses, I raised my hand and caught the burning arrow.

"Vivi, absorb the Soulforce."

"Initialising Host's request..."

"Absorbing the flame attribute from the attack..."

The arrow-shaped burning energy absorbed into my palm, leaving the group—along with the crowd—utterly stunned.

"The Host's secondary core has absorbed the Flame attribute. The Host cannot absorb Soulforce of another attribute until the core is emptied.

Secondary Core (Attribute: Flame):

Soulforce absorbed: 400 / 100k."

"Wh-what did he just do?" Armin stammered, baffled. "Why didn't my attack work on him?"

"Stop spacing out and attack all at once!" Vyrion announced, sprinting at me.

The other two close-range combatants—Gajendra and Feralin—also joined in, and the three surrounded me, unleashing a barrage of attacks.

Gajendra's movements were heavy and bold, Feralin moved quickly and sharply like a cat, meanwhile Vyrion was the balance between the two, swinging his sword laced with bright glowing energy. Flaming arrows came in between as Armin shot from the far distance.

"Hmm, nothing left to see anymore," I murmured, dodging and blocking their attacks nonchalantly.

Clenching my fist, the first punch I landed was on Gajendra's shield. A loud metallic hum echoed from the impact, and Gajendra hurtled back, a massive dent forming in his shield.

"You meownster!" Feralin shouted, her sharp nails and Vyrion's blade descending upon me.

I grabbed the sword and her paws barehanded, swung my body, and first threw Vyrion into the air and then Feralin in the same direction so he could catch her.

Vyrion slammed into the ground with Feralin's butt landing directly on his face—lucky bastard.

With only Armin left standing, I shot toward him with blinding speed and drove my fist into his gut. A burst of spit flew from his mouth as he collapsed instantly.

"Give up. You can't beat me," I declared. "Leave your space rings here if you don't wanna get hurt."

"Don't underestimate us, you hairy bastard," Feralin muttered, rising to her feet.

A bright white moonlight radiated from her body as she began to transform.

"Don't transform here, Feralin. We will take care of it!" Vyrion shouted as four small balls of yellow light appeared around his sword.

On the other side, a sun-like fireball materialized above Armin's head.

Vyrion thrust his sword forward, announcing,

And in the next instant, his blade and the four bolts around it burst into a quadra-storm laser of blinding radiance, tearing through the air, all of it screaming straight toward me.

At the same time, Armin roared, raising his staff upward,

"Blazing Sun of Hundred Arrows!"

As the skill's name suggested, hundreds of flaming arrows emerged from the burning sphere and rained down in a merciless barrage, turning the sky above me into a blazing storm.

"Vivi, can I absorb the upcoming arrows to convert them into Soulforce?"

"As long as the capacity of the core isn't full, Host may absorb the Soulforce. However, the impact the arrows have when striking the Host's body will remain."

"Fine by me."

As the five lasers reached closer, Vajra emerged from my inventory and surged with violent golden lightning.

The four lasers from Vyrion's attack struck each corner of Cross Impact while the middle laser landed at the intersection of the slashes.

The moment the skills clashed, a loud thunder echoed, with electric bolts hitting the surface and spectators gathered around the stage.

After a moment, the lightning slashes pushed forward, cutting straight through the lasers and only disappearing after reaching a nail's length from Vyrion.

Meanwhile, for the flaming arrows, I spread my arms, letting all the arrows strike my body.

"Flame attribute detected!

Absorbing the flame attribute from the attack..."

The strikes stung a little, but due to my thick skin, none could pierce through. My clothes began burning, and as I was about to become buck naked, I pulled out the trousers of the tux set from my inventory and instantly wore them the moment my old common trousers burnt away.

"Soulforce absorbed!

Secondary Core (Attribute: Flame):

Soulforce absorbed: 7.2k / 100k."

"Wh-what the fuck was that?" the crowd murmured.

"Where did this guy come from?"

"He is too strong."

"That last move was fucking awesome."

I moved toward Vyrion, who had dropped to his knees after using all of his energy in the last move.

My sword pointed at him as I declared, my voice serious, "I will behead you right now if you don't give up."
