Zi Yan stood outside Lu Group's towering headquarters, staring up at the gleaming glass structure that loomed over the city.

Her heart pounded, but she forced herself to stay calm.

There was no turning back now.

She had lost everything—her reputation, her career, and the man she once foolishly trusted. But if she wanted revenge, she needed power. And the man inside this building had more power than anyone else.

Taking a deep breath, she stepped through the glass doors.

The lobby was grand, filled with sharply dressed employees moving with purpose. The air smelled of expensive perfume and polished leather.

As soon as she approached the front desk, the receptionist looked up, her expression shifting into surprise.

"Miss Zi," she said hesitantly. "You have an appointment?"

"Lu Yichen is expecting me," Zi Yan replied firmly.

The receptionist hesitated for a moment before picking up the phone. After a brief conversation, she nodded. "CEO Lu is waiting on the top floor. You can take the private elevator."

Zi Yan nodded her thanks and walked toward the sleek black elevator at the end of the hall.

As the doors slid shut behind her, she clenched her fists.

She had spent years building her career, working her way to the top with her own strength. Now, with one night, one set-up, it was all gone.

But she refused to stay down.

If she had to strike a deal with the devil to climb back up, then so be it.

The private office on the top floor was enormous, yet cold.

Dark walls, minimal decoration, floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline. The room reflected its owner perfectly—powerful, distant, untouchable.

And there he was.

Lu Yichen sat behind his desk, flipping through a document. He didn't look up immediately, as if her presence wasn't important enough to acknowledge right away.

But Zi Yan wasn't here to be intimidated.

She walked forward, stopping in front of his desk. "I'm here," she said.

Only then did he look up.

His dark eyes studied her carefully, as if peeling away every layer of her soul. "You came faster than I expected," he said lazily. "That means you've made your decision."

Zi Yan clenched her fists. "I want revenge."

A slow smirk tugged at his lips. "Of course you do."

He leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping against the armrest. "Guo Bao and Wang Yin thought they could destroy you easily. They were wrong. But if you want to fight back, you'll need strength—real strength."

Zi Yan narrowed her eyes. "And you're offering that?"

Lu Yichen didn't answer immediately. Instead, he pushed a sleek black folder toward her. "Read it."

She hesitated before opening it.

Inside was a contract.

She scanned the contents, her heartbeat quickening.

Terms:

• Zi Yan would work under Lu Group's entertainment division.

• Lu Yichen would use his influence to clear her name.

• In return, she would owe him absolute loyalty.

• The contract was binding. No backing out.

Zi Yan looked up sharply. "You're asking me to be your employee?"

Lu Yichen chuckled. "I don't need employees, Miss Zi. I need people who know how to survive. You, right now, are barely surviving. But with my support, you'll thrive."

Zi Yan's grip on the folder tightened.

It was a dangerous offer. She knew that once she signed, she would be tied to him in ways she couldn't predict.

But what other choice did she have?

She had already seen how powerful he was. One word from him, and her scandal could disappear. One move, and Guo Bao and Wang Yin's little game would turn against them.

This was the fastest way to fight back.

Zi Yan took a deep breath. "Why me?"

Lu Yichen's eyes flickered with something unreadable. "Because you amuse me."

Zi Yan froze.

That answer…

It should have made her furious. But instead, it sent a strange chill down her spine.

She clenched her jaw. "Fine," she said, picking up the pen. "I'll sign."

She didn't hesitate. She scrawled her name across the contract, sealing her fate.

Lu Yichen watched, satisfaction flickering in his dark gaze. "Good," he said smoothly. "Then let's begin."

Zi Yan set the pen down and met his eyes. "The first thing I want is to destroy Wang Yin."

Lu Yichen chuckled. "Impatient, aren't we?"

Zi Yan's hands curled into fists. "I don't have time to be patient."

His smirk deepened. "Very well. Let me show you how we play this game."

That night, Zi Yan made her first move.

She released a public statement on social media:

"The truth will come out soon. I hope certain people are ready for it."

The internet exploded.

People who had turned against her now hesitated. The comment section was filled with speculation.

"What does she mean??"

"Is she saying she was framed??"

"If she has proof, she better release it!"

Zi Yan refreshed the page, her heart pounding.

The battle had begun.
