ReThree: sisterhood

Chapter 45: seven seas arc

This was beyond what my sanity could take. I feel like I'm really losing my mind. A desert with a sky that isn't clear whether it's dusk or dawn, along with beings suspended in it. It's as if this place is filled with water. Then, a few steps forward, the ground beneath my foot gave way. I screamed and instinctively pulled myself back.

'Height?'

I had thought I was underground until now, but now that I look, I see I'm dozens of meters above the ground. I looked back. Rotted sails. Wooden columns from which nets hung. With a little cabin at the end that had large windows.

'Am I on a ship?'

"So you came here?"

I turned around.

"Where the hell is this?"

"I told you..."

I grabbed her collar tightly.

"No, no, no! You actually understand what I mean very well. Don't act like you don't, and explain to me the name of this place, its location, and all the events that are happening here."

she raised her hand to try to calm me down.

"Why are you hitting me? Did I make a mistake?"

"You're practically screwing with me."

"Okay, I promise I'll tell you everything in detail. Just give me a chance."

"Until when?"

she smiled and turned her face away from me, looking to the horizon.

"Until the other guests arrive."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Guests?"

Suddenly, she looked down with excitement.

"Oh! It seems they've arrived."

she separated herself from me and ran towards the wooden pillar.

"Where are you going?" I shouted.

she grabbed a rope attached to the hook on the edge of the ship.

"You too, come on. Hurry!"

Then she went down the rope with all her speed.

I ran towards her.

"Wait."

I reached the edge and looked down. Mandana had successfully reached the ground. I was hesitated to look at the rope.

'I've done all kind of foolishness except this one.'

But there was no choice. If I didn't go down, I wouldn't know what was going on.

'I should find out who those guests are, right?'

Finally, I risked it. I gripped the rope tightly with both hands. With a swift move, I dangled from it. I looked down. I was dozens of meters above the ground, and that was no small feat. I was trembling as I pulled myself down. After a while, my fear subsided.

"Hey, this isn't hard."

I sped up my descent when suddenly one of the rotted parts of the rope sank into my hand.

"Ouch!"

Letting go of the rope meant falling down. Even though I was only three meters from the ground and the sand below me was soft, my whole body ached. As I rubbed my back in frustration, I raised my head angrily.

"This damned ship has no other way out..."

My eyes widened in surprise. Mandana turned back to me.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I forgot to tell you that there's a way down through the stairs too."

With her turning back, I saw my view completely opened up towards the three guests.

They all stared at me, dazed and bewildered.

"Angela?"

As if they had just woken from a long sleep.

"What are you doing here?"

"Weren't you behind us?"

"Are you okay?"

I looked at them displeased. I wanted to say something, but nothing came out of my mouth.

"Do you guys know each other?"

Their gaze, which had been locked on me in surprise, shifted to Mandana.

"Y-yeah, we just don't know why she's here," Resita said nervously.

"I found her in front of my house."

"Your house?"

"Yeah, the ship right in front of you."

They all gaped at the massive ship. I turned away from them and looked in another direction, feeling frustrated. I don't know why I felt upset. Maybe because their attention had raised my expectations.

'Resita and Diana are nothing. But why did Nuka suddenly ignored me?'

Nuka had always been sticking to me like a tick. No matter what I did, he would always notice my presence and come over to me.

'But why this time...'

"Angela..."

I didn't want to look at that little prince-like face. So I turned my gaze elsewhere.

"Are you upset with us?"

"Angela, I swear I don't know what happened. It was like you were completely erased from my mind. It felt like it was just me , Diana and Resita."

"Hey, call me by my last name, you peasant," Resita said angrily

Nuka continued without paying attention to Resita, "Angela, I promise you I won't be like the rest of them. This was the first and last time I ignored you. I promise you—"

I threw his necklace amulet at him. he caught it in the air and stared at it in surprise.

"This..."

"I found it in middle of nowhere. It probably saved me too, otherwise, I would have died in the desert."

he looked at me with sadness and regret.

"Much obliged...."

I turned my face away from him and frowned.

Contrary to what I thought, I wasn't angry. I tried to be, but to be honest; I had gotten used to such behaviors. My sister's presence in my life wasn't as prominent anymore. When she ignores me, it's nothing.

"Hey, you girl..."

Our gaze returned to Diana.

"Tell us which land we're in? Astras? Arimos? Where exactly are we?"

"Let me welcome you first. After all, you are my guests."

Diana nervously grabbed her collar.

"No! It seems you didn't understand. I want to know WHERE WE ARE RIGHT NOW?!."

"Why are you all like this?" Mandana said fearfully.

***

The flames were boiling the potatoes. We had formed a circle around it and were silently watching. Occasionally, we would make eye contact with each other.

"Well..."

We waited for Resita to continue speaking.

"You said we are in a non named land?"

"Exactly!"

"Then where are we? Is this an uninhabited area?"

"It's not about being inhabited or not... Have you ever heard of the Seven Seas?"

"Seven Seas?" Diana the pompous of us asked .

"I read something about it. That the world has seven seas. Each one is a different life path. And they differ in time and space," Nuka said.

"So does this mean we've entered another dimension?"

"Exactly!"

"Well, this place doesn't resemble a sea at all," Diana said.

"Idiot, the Seven Seas is a term. It actually refers to different dimensions of the world that everyone believes there are seven of them," Resita explained.

"watch your mouth, just because I don't say anything back at you doesn't mean you can say anything you want ."

"You're a noble. But you've only gotten bigger, and your brain is still small."

"Whatever I am, I'm better than a moving blob of fat."

They grabbed each other's collars angrily.

Mandana wanted to intervene, but Nuka smirked and stopped her.

"Don't tire yourself. They've been bickering the whole time... (Then he turned to Mandana.) By the way, how do you know we came from another dimension? After all, we speak the same language as you. We look similar. The only difference is that your choose of clothes is more outdated and old-fashioned."

Mandana smiled at Nuka.

"That's why I say this is another dimension. I also entered this dimension like you."

We were all surprised. Even Resita and Diana, who had their fingers in each other's noses, looked at her with open mouths.

"What?"

Silence reigned for a while.

"..."

"So you don't know how to get out of here? How do we return to our dimension?"

"If I knew, I wouldn't be here now."

"Since when have you been stuck here?"

"It's gard to tell because there is no day and night here, I don't know. Maybe months or even years."

"What year was it when you were transferred here?"

"Year 750."

"What?"

Once again, we were all in shock, which made Mandana anxious.

"What's wrong? What's the problem?"

"We are currently in the year 1000."

Mandana's eyes widened in astonishment.

"Y-You're joking, right?"

"We need to get out of this graveyard as quickly as possible," Resita said with fear and frustration.

"W-What the hell is this? Then why do you look like you're eleven years old? Why haven't you become a fossil by now?" Diana asked fearfully.

Nuka turned his head with fear.

"Because time passes slower in this dimension than in ours."
