Chapter 835
True Martial Home
I knew why Dr. Faust told me to go to the throne.
‘There’s no other way now.’
After all, this world has met its end, and there’s no chance I’m crossing over to the multiverse again. I need the powers of the Tree of Knowledge and the Primordial Void, but I have no way to obtain those elements at this point.
Nonetheless, Mephistopheles fought against the Old Ruler with all his power and ended up perishing together. An extremely advanced strong AI wouldn’t act solely based on emotions; there was definitely a reason for her to fight. That reason was to ensure that I, a reborn person, could move freely without being captured by the Old Ruler. No one should obstruct my path to the throne.
The throne.
The sacred place where the being known as the Father, who can be called the Absolute Divine, resides. Originally, mortals cannot reach this place, but it seemed that Mephistopheles and Dr. Faust believed that I could reach the throne. As a reborn person who transcends the limits of the law of cause and effect, they thought I could cause a miracle.
There’s hardly any chance of survival once I go to the throne. I don’t even know what kind of place it is. No demon book provides detailed descriptions about the throne, and it’s said that even the Old Ruler never reached it. Nobody knows how I might die there, in that unknown location. However, with desperation, I had to go.
Because—the throne is the place where the ‘revelation’ occurs. If I can uncover what events take place there, it will surely clarify my goals from my past life. Moreover, since it is the most crucial point in the universe, there’s a possibility it would be one of the last places to perish when the entire universe is destroyed.
But…
Would my rebirth abilities still activate when I die at the throne…?
This is a multiverse where the ‘Wheel of Destiny’ itself is different, isn’t it?
If the premise that my rebirth abilities activate were invalidated, then it would be the end. I would die an utterly meaningless death, and all my adventures would come to an abrupt stop. The thought of losing everything I have built up until now frightened me, but I clenched my jaw.
‘…Maybe that would be a blessing.’
If dying means never waking up again after closing my eyes, that might not be such a bad thing.
Sometimes, I thought this way. I didn’t voice it frequently for fear of seeking comfortable death due to my harsh life.
“Shall I go?”
I stumbled through the ruins while clutching the golden lamp. Now that Mephisto had perished, the CCLF 2 magic distortion device was gone, allowing me to use my demon artifacts freely.
Using the golden lamp, I aimed for the frequency of light in one go.
If I used my Qi to propel myself, I could reach the frequency in no time.
But the moment I held the golden lamp, an odd sensation struck me. It felt as if the golden lamp was wailing, a terrible sound swirling from within.
Whoa—
Ooo—
“……”
I had a feeling something terrible would happen if I used the golden lamp now. So, I slightly twisted the lid and peeked inside. Normally, opening the lid would reveal just the ordinary internal structure of the lamp, but the moment I lifted the lid, I was stunned.
Kugugugu
Woah—
“……!!”
I could see inside the ‘disguise’!!
If I ever used the lamp, tempted by its allure, I would accidentally enter the internal world of the God residing in Dark Heaven Village. I knew this because I had once fallen into that trap when I tried to approach Dark Heaven Village and subsequently escaped with the help of Cheon Gong-pyo.
But now, the ‘disguise’ world I previously witnessed was spread out inside the lamp like a tiny model garden.
‘What is happening?’
The wails from within the swirling world of ‘disguise’ seemed to be the sounds emitted by the chaotic demon beasts residing there.
Krooooh!
Wooohhh
The demon beasts rose into the sky without hiding their grotesque appearances, seeming to try to escape the disguise, and soon the sky turned pitch black. Hundreds of thousands of chaotic entities soared upward in unison. Among them were even the demon beasts I had seen before, gigantic as mountains. It seemed like a massive spectacle that could easily be billions of times larger, but seeing them writhing in the lamp’s tiny model garden made them look like mere insects.
Then, shortly after, a huge spiritual voice boomed from the lamp.
[Little beings, accept the great return.]
Hooowaaaak
A moment later, a wave of chaos rose in the void, and all those demon beasts were simultaneously consumed by chaos and vanished. The wave rippled for a brief moment, and the viewpoint gradually expanded outwards. Then, in that expanded view, I could see the enormous body of the God from before.
A colossal centipede sailing through the universe.
——–
After a while, it began to sing. Well, I’m not sure if it could be called singing, but for some reason, that melody resonated with me. There was no sound, yet I could feel it reverberating throughout the entire universe. It sounded like an ancient flute praising chaos. And beyond the silver path traversed by the centipede God, Dark Heaven Village slowly began to bubble up.
Psss—
Moments later, the golden lamp shattered into countless grains of sand. I understood the reason behind this phenomenon.
“Dark Heaven Village is perishing.”
I murmured to myself, unable to believe it.
What vanishes isn’t just the world inside the centipede’s disguise. Because Dark Heaven Village in this world is perishing, the demon path contract and the law of cause and effect connected to the lamp are gone.
Naturally, even the magic power of the demon sorcerer who made the golden lamp gets severed. Since the demon artifact is also a link to the law of cause and effect, if the world, Dark Heaven Village, itself ceases to exist, it wouldn’t remain unscathed. The magical power would disintegrate, reducing the medium constituting the demon artifact back to its original source.
“……”
I grasped the reason for the golden lamp turning to sand through my knowledge of demon techniques, but that knowledge offered me no comfort; instead, it filled me with fear, making my hands tremble uncontrollably.
This is the end.
A world where ultimate destruction approaches in real-time.
‘Damn…. If I lived in this era, I certainly wouldn’t be able to cope without going insane.’
If Dark Heaven Village collapses, there’s no meaning in heading towards the Old Ruler either. I thought my justification for moving toward the throne had increased by one more reason and called upon my summoned beast using magic.
Kiiiii—
The summoned beast I called forth seemed overcome with fear and let out a sorrowful wail.
I petted its head to comfort it.
“It’s okay. Don’t be scared.”
I could feel its fear through its carapace. After all, since it too is a being of chaos, it must be sensing the impending destruction of this world in real-time.
I gently stroked its head with a sympathetic expression and climbed onto its back.
Then, I wrapped myself in protection energy techniques and clenched my teeth.
“Let’s go!”
Piying—
Shortly after arriving in the space where the frequency of light spread, I instilled the intent into my summoned beast and charged toward the light’s frequency.
Weeee—
A strange ringing echoed in my ears. As soon as I entered the light frequency, I noticed that the concept of time and space disappeared all around me, and only the dazzling light flowed lazily like a river.
‘Thank goodness. I made it inside alive.’
And unlike the universe, I could feel a welcoming atmosphere shift as I got deeper in. Contrary to my expectations of a hellish experience, since there was no impact at all, I got off the summoned beast.
“Go back.”
After releasing the summoned beast, I started walking slowly down this dimensional corridor. For some reason, the summoned beast could no longer move at the speed of light and, since it was scared, there was no need to ride it anymore. Just walking felt like I was being sucked somewhere. This place was definitely where all physical laws are distorted and collapse.
…….
I walked the endless path. I felt like I had walked silently for about half a moment without end, yet I still sensed that there was no limit. However, as time dragged on, I noticed changes occurring in the path, as the shapes of galaxies briefly floated beside it.
Kuwuuh….
The sound of collisions. I glimpsed the galaxies colliding and saw that they gradually merged into something larger. While it would be catastrophic from up close, from a distance, it was merely a fascinating sight. The collisions of galaxies were not limited to one or two; tens of thousands of galaxies began flashing in and out after crashing into each other.
Ssusss—
Was the world this small? The galaxies seemed to shrink down to dots, and an unnameable, colossal supercluster of galaxies began to flow, like a river trickling out of sight. As I observed these superclusters shrinking little by little into tiny blood vessels, I could sense what was happening moment by moment.
With each step I take down this corridor, the dimension of my vision transforms.
It was like rising from a low place to a high one, progressing from a lowland to an elevated ground. As the dimension increased, I could see a wider world. I thought there’d be chaos all around, but surprisingly, I felt no sign of chaos at all. Rather, it felt like it was a space where all forms of powers were excluded.
Kugugugu….
When the superclusters finally shrunk down to mere grains of sand, it was as if the blood vessels of my brain branched out like tree limbs, and a dense fog began to obscure my sight. As this scene dramatically expanded, that observable radius began growing thousands of times larger, leaving me feeling dizzy. I had already surpassed the level comprehensible by a human, yet here I was, growing even larger?
Then, moments later, I noticed strange creatures I had never seen before floating alongside the corridor. Each of these beings had a terrifying form that seemed like they’d come out of a dream. It felt like they were swimming in a celestial sea. I reached out to one of the squid-like entities fluttering beside me.
The moment my hand touched its body.
[Presumptuous creature!! Do you dare extend your hand into my dimension…!!]
A thunderous voice resounded in my mind. I was startled and instinctively withdrew my hand, just for an instant; an intense magical power tingled at my fingertips. As I stared at the squid, I suddenly realized its identity.
“…[Old Ruler]…?”
No way.
I felt absurd, yet it seemed my instinct was correct. Perhaps each step I took down this corridor raised the dimension, making it easier to encounter higher-dimensional beings, and as I navigated through dimensions traversing the entire universe, the [Old Rulers] appeared to shrink in comparison. In other words, the [Old Rulers] were that much higher-dimensional beings.
I thought perhaps I could seize an [Old Ruler] and slay them by hand now, but I had no intention of testing that theory. It was dangerous, and more importantly, there were more crucial matters at hand.
‘It doesn’t matter. For now, it’s more important to see this corridor through to the end.’
The number of [Old Rulers] floating beside the corridor gradually decreased. Eventually, as if the beings floating like fish had nearly vanished, the surroundings darkened like the depths of the ocean. The once dazzling light disappeared completely, enveloping the area in utter darkness.
Interestingly, despite this darkness, the path I needed to follow shone softly with silver light, illuminating the way forward. As I calmly walked down the corridor, I realized someone was blocking my path up ahead.
A being donned in a golden robe of an ancient high priest.
I couldn’t see the face, but it stood in the middle of the path, wearing a dragon-patterned fabric.
The being raised a hand that seemed to be made entirely of gold, pointing at me and spoke.
[Human. Who are you? The revelation has already ended.]
The revelation has ended?
I tilted my head, but I could definitely sense that this being was no ordinary entity. This corridor had ascended to such a degree that even most [Old Rulers] wouldn’t be visible, yet this entity was maintaining a human form. That signified immense stature. They must surely be among the most renowned [Old Rulers] in the universe, so I cautiously replied.
“I am Baek Woong. Who are you?”
[You are an existence not calculated in my reckoning.]
With that, the entity fell silent. After a prolonged silence filled the air, I grew anxious and spoke again.
“I’m attempting to reach the throne, please move aside.”
[Perhaps….]
The robed overlord pondered for a moment after my words and suddenly broke into a giddy grin.
[Ahaha, I see. Good, proceed.]
“Huh?”
In an instant, the overlord vanished. I felt strange that the being didn’t pry any further and simply stepped aside, but now was not the time for questions. It was fortunate that the being did not try to harm me.
I quickened my pace through the corridor, and darkness persisted until suddenly, my surroundings became brilliantly illuminated.
Nothingness.
A place with absolutely nothing. There isn’t even darkness, and naturally, there’s no light.
I couldn’t express it adequately, but although this place has no color, it wasn’t darkness; it felt like a place where nothingness was not just a concept but had become actualized.
I felt on the verge of insanity.
Absolute nothingness and true endless space!
Thoughts and sensations were all engulfed. Even my sixth sense became meaningless. This was completely different from the chaos of the spiritual realm, as I was facing the pure essence of barren destruction.
Just when I was overwhelmed and frozen in place.
‘That’s….’
Suddenly, my thoughts returned to reality, and I quickly regained awareness. Because I saw someone standing before me.
‘Two…?’
There stood two humans.
I gazed at them from behind, rigid as if in a taxidermy exhibit. I could only see their backs, and their faces were concealed. It seemed they were staring at something in front of them, not turning to face me. I desperately tried to memorize their features.
One of them seemed completely unfamiliar to me. No matter how I tried to distinguish its characteristics, the figure was so bland that I couldn’t grasp anything about them. Other than that they were clad in gray clothing, there was absolutely nothing remarkable. Unless I saw their front, I couldn’t claim to know anything about them.
The other one was dressed in the unique attire of a demon sorcerer.
What were two humans doing here in such a place? Just as I was puzzled by this thought, a voice suddenly echoed right beside me.
“Oh dear! The curtain has fallen but an audience has arrived.”
I turned to the side, startled, to see someone entirely unexpected standing there.
“……?!”
Why is this guy here?!
I couldn’t believe it, so I shouted in disbelief.
“Primordial Void Ruler!!”
