The king, his back turned to Su Xiao, hadn't noticed him at all. His face was filled with shock.

A flash of the blade cut through the air, gleaming under the moonlight in a beautiful yet deadly arc, slicing the air with a mournful whistle.

"Slash!"

Su Xiao's blade sliced through the king's waist. Blood spurted into the air, forming droplets that splattered across the walls and floor.

In one swift motion, Su Xiao had cut the king in half at the waist.

The king, still in the air, stared down in bewilderment at his now-severed legs. For a brief moment, he didn't understand what had just happened.

As his upper body fell to the ground, a wave of immense pain surged through him, threatening to consume him.

His mouth opened wide, just about to scream when Su Xiao's second strike came down.

Fast, precise, and ruthless—the blade severed the king's head, sending it rolling across the floor.

"Mission complete."

Su Xiao flicked the blood from his sword. By himself, he had successfully assassinated a king in a world filled with "monsters", emerging unscathed. Accomplishing this required both immense courage and skill.

A voice filled with bloodlust echoed out—yes, a voice that carried the taste of blood.

Su Xiao couldn't see who or what it was, but he could feel the overwhelming power radiating from it.

Standing up in the darkness, Su Xiao turned toward the source of the voice.

Su Xiao's vision darkened again, and the previous sensations returned.
