Chapter 394: Slots
Amidst the strict gaze and interrogation from both Zhao Xin and Feng Qing Rou, there were no longer any options available for Zhao Kai.
He finally cracked and revealed the truth.
"Feng told me to rest in peace." He exclaimed and showed his phone to them, letting them witness the cruelty of Xu Feng.
Zhao Xin sneered and snatched the phone from him. "Hmph, he dares to act all high and mighty now that he has someone backing him?"
Infuriated, Zhao Xin refused to let this matter go easily. She quickly dialed a face call using Zhao Kai's phone.
However, to her surprise, after it beeped once, the call ended.
"He dares not pick up the phone?" Startled, Zhao Xin was speechless and turned her attention to Zhao Kai. "Are you sure you two are best friends and not enemies? Cause you're about to get skinned alive."
Zhao Kai inwardly shuddered upon hearing the threat. He wasn't going to get skinned alive literally, but he was positive that his fate would be worse than it.
Just when Zhao Kai was imagining the horrible thing that would happen to him, a voice suddenly echoed throughout their meeting. The voice wasn't heavenly or ethereal, but it was a feeling of being saved.
"Xin, why are you trying to torture your little brother like that after all the effort you went through to get him approved by his grandfather?" Xu Feng mused as he leaned near the door.
"F-Feng!!" Zhao Kai cried out, feeling grateful for his timely arrival. As for his previous anger and statement to him, that never happened.
Alas, before he could even stand up and rush toward him, Zhao Xin gave his head a light smack.
At the same time, she turned her attention to Xu Feng and glared at him. "Took you long enough to arrive. I thought you were going to be ungrateful and pretend to not know us."
"Well, I really didn't want to, but then I figured Kai must have confessed something." Xu Feng shrugged and glanced at Zhao Kai.
Sure enough, Zhao Kai wore a guilty expression on his face as he quickly lowered his head, unwilling to meet his gaze.
"My little brother is a part of the Vanguard guild, so shouldn't our guild collaborate often?" Now that the cat was out of the bag, Zhao Xin didn't bother to conceal the truth and straight up used the connection.
Nodding in agreement, Feng Qing Rou also chimed in, "We worked wondrously during the Scorched Caverns raid. I suppose we can work things out further. Money is not a problem."
"I appreciate the enthusiasm from you two, but the Vanguard guild has no intention of doing a collaboration." Xu Feng calmly said and gestured to Zhao Kai to move away to make space for him to sit.
"No intention of collaboration?" Annoyed, Zhao Xin pressed on, "Then why did you even show up here?"
Was he honestly thinking she would continue to be gentle and sweet after getting rejected?
"Relaxed, what I meant is that the Vanguard guild will be doing a large-scale dungeon raid to kick-start the livestream. By then, there will be 90 slots available." Xu Feng crossed his legs and mused.
He wasn't foolish enough to come in person if he planned on leaving them in the dust. In fact, he came up with a plan to not only butcher these cute fat sheep but also to make them give him manpower.
Only someone as magnanimous as him would let others take a few of his fame.
Zhao Xin and Feng Qing Rou didn't lack manpower or money, but they sure lacked the ability to gain more fame and reputation.
Aside from the Scorched Caverns raid that the Silver Wind guild had achieved, nothing was more notable.
Although they had established a foothold in Dawnshire City, it wasn't enough to generate enough fame or players caring for it. Otherwise, they wouldn't have resorted to subtly threatening Zhao Kai to force him to show up to discuss a potential collaboration.

"90 slots?"
"Large-scale dungeon raid?"
Feng Qing Rou and Zhao Xin glanced at each other, seemingly taken aback by his declaration.
"Are you saying one of those dungeons that required 100 players?" Feng Qing Rou inquired, unsure if she had heard wrong.
After all, the minimum requirement for the dungeon was level 25, but any clever person knew that one should at least be 28 or above.
Just because the minimum requirement suggested a number, didn't mean that it was possible unless they have good coordination and leadership. And even if they had those, the possibility of failure was extremely high.
However, upon reconsidering the miracles that Lin Feng had displayed, and finding many loopholes, she had a feeling it wasn't that impossible either.
Feng Qing Rou breathed softly and asked, "Is Lin Feng going to be in charge of the raid?"
"Naturally." Xu Feng nodded his head.
"I won't be joining the raid though since I'm assigned somewhere else." He added, fluently giving an excuse for himself to avoid them figuring things out.
Meanwhile, a "puchi" sound was heard, prompting the trio to turn to Zhao Kai, who was trying to laugh.
"What's so funny, little brother?" Zhao Xin smiled widely and questioned sweetly.
"N-Nothing," Zhao Kai shrank his back and hurriedly shook his head.
'This Feng really knows how to play with fire?' He cursed inwardly, knowing that Xu Feng was Lin Feng in reality, but dared not expose the latter.
Xu Feng had specifically warned him to keep his identity a secret from everyone, but not for his activity at Evershade City. Hence, he had told Zhao Xin about it, which resulted in today's meeting.
"Then we can draft a contract and get it done." Zhao Xin turned her gaze away from Zhao Kai and said to Xu Feng.
"Oh sorry, but these 90 slots aren't reserved for you." Xu Feng raised his hand and corrected.
"What I mean is that these 90 slots could be yours, but also could not be yours."
"Speak clearly!" Irritated, Zhao Xin wanted to strangle him right here and now.
Chuckling, Xu Feng stood up and approached the exit door. He then exclaimed loudly, "I meant that these 90 slots would be auctioned externally. Those who wish to bask in the glory and gain fame can offer a high price."
