Reincarnation of the Strongest Healer

Chapter 29: Free

After some consideration, especially with Xu Feng's suggestion, Zhang Jingyi decided to be lenient and agreed with him.

She was here to give him some face for assisting her earlier, so it would be bad to reject his suggestion. Not to mention, Sandra was indeed an employee who had worked for a long time and rarely made mistakes in her duties.

"You're lucky that he was magnanimous." Zhang Jingyi glanced at Sandra and said. "Hurry up and thank him for the mercy."

Sandra, having realized the person she had humiliated earlier was the very same person to reach a hand out and save her from losing a job, was shocked.

Nevertheless, she adapted to the situation quite swiftly and bowed to Xu Feng with a grateful expression. "Thank you for the mercy, Sir."

"Alright, go back inside and wait. I need to talk with him privately. Also, don't you dare mention my appearance here to anyone, otherwise, you're going to feel my wrath." Zhang Jingyi dismissed them, clearly impatient.

Sandra was naturally happy to oblige her orders and went back inside.

As for Elena, her expression might not have shown it, but her body language clearly indicated she was displeased with the result.

She took a few small glimpses of Xu Feng, seemingly dumbfounded by his actions.

Was he a whipped person, to begin with?

How else could one explain that they would be merciful despite being humiliated quite ruthlessly?

Meanwhile, Xu Feng merely returned a smile to Elena when he spotted her taking a few glimpses of him.

'Heh, although your schemes are nearly flawless, you failed to understand one simple fact. It's whether or not your target was going to detect your ploy and how they would react about it.' Xu Feng sneered inwardly.

Sandra might have indeed been rude to him, but Elena's scheme was much worse than the former.

After all, Elena was using him as a spearhead to target Sandra, and he would never become a spearhead for anyone.

If he were to become a spearhead, then it must be done in his own free will.

There was no way he was going to become a spearhead for anyone trying to order him or by schemes.

As Xu Feng was recalling the days of him being ordered around constantly, Zhang Jingyi began to focus her attention on him.

"Anyway, it's a good thing you didn't run far and actually came to a store that is under me." Zhang Jingyi said, void of any of her previous domineering and cold aura.

"..."

Xu Feng was exhausted by this point.

All he wanted to do was purchase a smartwatch, and phone, and possibly find a new house location. So how come there are so many other events appearing and blocking him?

Knitting his brows, Xu Feng held a bitter expression and asked, "Why are you chasing after me? It can't be that you saw me in a plight and came in just to assist me, right?"

"You can't be serious, right? I haven't even gotten your name yet and you left already. I, Zhang Jingyi, am a person who remembers debt and gratitude." Zhang Jingyi announced, taking this opportunity to formally introduce herself while asking for his name again.

Never once had she needed to ask for a person's name twice.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng remained silent, clearly reluctant to reveal his name.

"If you tell me your name, then I can give you the latest smartwatch and phone for free. The money I said I will give you remains as it is." She offered.

And almost instantaneous, Xu Feng's frown expression turned into a smile.

"I'm Zhao Kai, nice to meet you." He said, extending his hand out for a handshake, and shamelessly using his friend's name.

The way he changed his attitude and behavior astonished Zhang Jingyi.

"Right, you are this type of person." Zhang Jingyi chuckled bitterly. She recalled earlier when she went to his arm and asked for a cover-up, Xu Feng had asked her how much she was offering.

"No wonder you said Sandra wasn't incorrect." She added, not knowing what else to say at the moment.

On one hand, he was a gentleman that didn't take advantage of her physically during their embrace, but on the other hand, he was one damn money-grubber. If there was a chance to obtain money, he would take it without hesitation.

Despite knowing his personality, Zhang Jingyi was somewhat appreciative of him.

After all, he didn't bother to conceal his personality and was rather straightforward and honest with his conduct.

Alas, if she had known about Xu Feng's conduct in the Divine World, then she might have retracted all of her opinions.

"Anyway, can we head inside now and retrieve my smartwatch and phone?" Xu Feng smiled softly and asked, seemingly eager to get his product already.

Helpless, Zhang Jingyi nodded her head and proceeded to be the guide for him in the store.

"Our stores received a new batch, so there are quite a lot of options you can choose from." She then began to introduce each product individually, as well as their features.

"Okay, no need to introduce them. I'll take the black-colored smartwatch along with the phone." Xu Feng halted her and pointed at the two items near the display shelf.

"Very well then," Zhang Jingyi smiled lightly, signaling Sandra to do the manual work. It could be said that it was somewhat her redemption, so Sandra was quite meticulous in the packaging.

"Here you go, esteemed sir," Sandra tried her best to not sound awkward as she handed the item to Xu Feng.

Xu Feng accepted the items happily— it was free after all.

Meanwhile, Zhang Jingyi was about to open her mouth and speak, but Xu Feng was even more shrewd.

"Oh noes, the bodyguards came back," he shouted loudly, his tone filled with panic.

"What?" Zhang Jingiy was alarmed and hurriedly hid behind, clearly anxious about being discovered.

And it was at this time that Xu Feng took his opportunity and dashed away. 'Later Miss Zhang, but I don't wish to be involved with your business any further. I'm just a poor man with no background.'
