Reincarnated With The Van Helsing System

Chapter 656: A king’s role (part 18)

The white and red light that flashed through the whole throne room only lasted for a fraction of a second, before dying down to reveal the result of the previous clash, Jasmine's hands trembled a little due to the explosiveness contained in the Balax Lord's martial art, which she took head on.

However, there were traces of blood coming from the corner of Byron's mouth, since even when combining both an enhancing martial art and an attack type one, he couldn't cut through the double protection of Jasmine's light mana and solid nether which was enhanced by her defense boosting spell.

"Crack!", that being said, the white crystal layer covering Gram did crumble apart the next second, but very much to Byron's displease, Jasmine's pretty blue eyes shone in a bright white light and a new and even sturdier-looking layer of white crystal replaced it almost instantly.

It's normal, Jasmine had overcome another obstacle in her path by making the swordsmanship she learned through analysis and imitation, in other words an offensive technique, truly hers, a moment ago, so her nether had slightly progressed as well.

'I expected it from that purple haired abomination, but is this one also going to be able to use basic form of "Royal Heart" so easily, damn it!', thought the Balax Lord.

Just like how the crazy girl's nether suddenly grew stronger, due to her emotions being… stimulated, due to Daimon's Manifestation, Byron noticed that the light princess's nether was getting temporarily stronger with each attack she blocked.

Which is the sign of a royal nethereal who has started to learn one of the three strongest innate abilities, available for their race and the only one of the three that isn't limited by realm, talent or even lineage, Royal Heart.

It's the most unique innate ability out of them all, and as a sign of it, none of the three Lords had managed to awaken it, let alone in their current states but even in their primes, in fact only Byron had some sort of an idea about it and it took him to accumulate a lot of "wrath" in order to use it, as shown earlier.

But then, here he saw not only Sarah who is an anomaly beyond comprehension when it comes to nether, but even the one who was "created" out of his lineage, to be purposedly inferior, was surpassing him.

'Fool, Sarah might be the strongest but the three of them are equally talented, the only difference is how they grow, that crazy girl instinctively learns everything due to her insane lineage purity, her growth is immediate, while Jasmine is the type to watch and benefit from every little thing, so her growth is constant, they are basically opposites and that's why they complement each other so perfectly', thought Daimon.

From the very beginning, Byron committed the mistake of thinking that Sarah was the only really dangerous one among the three sisters, but that isn't the case, the three of them are equally bad news for the Lords.

'If anything, there is one who is bound to struggle more than her sisters, due to the complexity of the aspect where her talent lies in, but in exchange, she will experience explosive improvement after advancing in the slightest, that's how it works for those with variable growth type', concluded Daimon as he gazed at the left side of the throne room, where a certain nelapsi girl was fighting.

"Clang!", a fierce crimson light suddenly illuminated the whole battlefield, as Reyne's fist collided with the one from the elite guard undead, while her lance met with the blade of the champion undead's sword.

"Crack!", what followed was the armor that covered the whole arm of the elite guard, shattering on the spot, while cracks appeared all over the champion's sword.

"Royal Crimson Surge", but that wasn't all, the nelapsi girl lit up in crimson flames which then expanded in every direction.

"Boooom!", the result was that the swarm of elite corps which was charging at Reyne, was blasted away, alongside the two Bone Generals, which flew past Aslan who was at disbelief at the sight of all those undead being defeated by the girl in front of him.

'She overwhelmed my water specialized army… damn it!', he swore to his insides.

Over the years, the three Lords had faced countless people who ended up arriving at Neptune, either by accident through some random crack in the space that opened at the Maelstrom Sea which had an unstable space, due to the battle that took place in that area so many thousands of years ago.

Or those that came here through a proper portal, and there have been of course cases of insignificant contenders which were outright killed by their random subordinates, but there have also been cases of talented guys who got to meet the highest ranked subordinates, which is why the captains and queen pieces of the three Lords have changed a lot so far.

And Aslan has claimed two corpses from the most talented contenders, with each affinity, to turn them into his elite undead which are kept inside the black coffin, all of them are at the highest realm that their restrictions of this space allow them to be by innate, which is the early stage of the Arch rank.

Needless to mention, but the Bane Lord has never been in a situation where he had needed to take them out, until now and yet his trusted trump cards were failing him.

"Humph!", feeling the offensive thoughts from the enemy, the nelapsi girl softly snorted, the crimson flames which were surrounding her, increased their fierceness as she charged at Aslan.

"Damn it!", the Bane Lord felt the danger coming at him, and cursed at the fact that the two Bone Generals he had taken out, were too far to block Reyne, actually he didn't even have the time to cast an spell, since a part of his focus was divided into controlling those two, a side effect that normally would have been taken care off by either Reed's Mind Link or Mind Flames.

Had it not been for the fact that one was "sealed" due to the masked silver haired youth whose cold glare was present all over the battlefield, while the other was stolen by the purple haired abomination.

So, without any other choice, Aslan used the black coffin as an improvised shield, which blocked just in time for Reyne's lance to land on it.

"Booooom!", unlike what one would expect, the clash was one of energies, because the black coffin while being a solid object, it's a result of a part of Aslan's Domain being condensed into ancient battle armament, as for Reyne's side, the lance wouldn't have done anything to the coffin, had it not been by the crimson flames battle aura which was enveloping it.

Or more accurately, it was the blood red mist which was working at the origin of said crimson flames, what caused Aslan to nearly lose it when he felt the durability of his ancient battle armament, diminishing.

"Wha!", the black coffin was especially designed to deal with knights, and it had been tested against Byron's battle aura, which didn't affect it in the slightest, of course if Aslan used it to block an attack, he was unable to cast a spell through it due to the interference caused by the clash of energies, but still it wasn't supposed to be worn out like this.

"That's enough, Royal Black Death Elite Reaper!", with an angered voice, the Bane Lord jumped backwards to get away from Reyne whose battle aura was wreaking havoc on the black coffin, to instantly cast his spell.

"Mm?", the nelapsi girl frowned upon the sudden drop in the temperature, which was caused by fog that came from the black coffin as a dark blue stream flashed in her direction.

"Clang!", Reyne swept her lance sidewards, blocking a sharp dark blue object, only for her to feel danger coming from the side, which was weird as she was a 100% sure there was no other enemy, near her besides the one with whom she was clashing as of current.

Still, since her lance was busy, she closed her pretty left hand forming a fist to then punch in the direction where her instincts warned her danger was coming from.

"Hsssssss!", a violent reaction, caused a huge release of steam which blocked Reyne's sight for a second, forcing her to retreat, not without the nelapsi girl sweeping her lance to dispel the steam, so that she could take a look at her enemy.

The undead in question was a thin and tall skeleton, wearing a black robe and dark blue armor, and a rather unconventional weapon, a scythe, but that's not what caught Reyne's attention, but the fact that this undead had four arms.

"What do you think of my masterpiece, this guy here, killed both the captain and the three queen pieces we had back then, I believe you'll get along with him quite nicely since when it was alive, he… was a rare dual affinity knight like you, though his elements are not exactly compatible with yours", mockingly said the Bane Lord.

The nelapsi girl looked at her left hand, which had a small black burn mark, the healing granted to her, through the blood red mist radiated by her skin was actually slowed down.

"Darkness and ice", mumbled Reyne, she glared at the scythe wielding undead, the hand with which it had punched her was also burnt, meaning that the undead didn't come out unscathed from their clash, but the problem is that for Aslan, the undead was but a disposable pawn.

The Bane Lord's strategy was simple, yet effective he wanted to tire out Reyne with a swarm of undead, while looking for a chance to strike safely from the back, speaking of which the elite guard and the champion who had finally made it back after being blasted away by Reyne, joined their newly summoned teammate.

So, the nelapsi girl found herself in front of three early-stage Arch ranked Bone Generals, which also were prepared to specifically deal with fire affinity knights, not to mention the elite corps whose numbers were being replenished by Aslan through the black coffin, as Reyne had incinerated whole batches of them earlier.

"Charge!", with a loud shout, Aslan gave the order and the elite corps threw themselves at the nelapsi girl, who pointed her lance frontwards in response.

"This ice is only strong because of its owner's realm, at the same level it would be nothing when compared to her", said Reyne referring to Liliana, as she burned the black ice that was trying to corrode her skin.

The snow eagle girl's ice had left a deep impression in Reyne, as she is the one she has taken as her rival among the Risha sisters.

In fact, before she created her crimson flames, the nelapsi girl had to admit that her fire element was no match for Liliana's ice at the same level, but now she was confident on her fire element, and that's what allowed her to devise the technique she was about to use.

"Royal Crimson Piercer", this was the second martial art which Reyne had adapted to use with royal nether, and she originally planned to use it in order to finish off Aslan, but now she was forced to reveal it in order to get rid of the large mob of elite corps, not because they were dangerous, but because having her field of sight blocked by them made the three Bone Generals actually threatening for her.

The crimson flames burning on Reyne's lance, lit up to then gather at the tip of her weapon, to then be released in the form of a crimson blinding light stream which pierced through the swarm of undead, destroying till the last one that was even slightly scratched by it, while those near of it exploded in crimson flames due to the mere exposition to it.

"Boooom!", unfortunately, Aslan who had hidden himself at the back of his army, managed to avoid what was currently, Reyne's strongest long ranged attack, that being said, he threw in around three fourth parts of his elite corps to delay it enough for him to get out of the range of the attack.

'So that's what she had been charging battle aura for all this time… fucking monstrous bitch!', thought the Bane Lord as he saw the burnt path left behind by Reyne's martial art which basically crossed the throne room side to side.

"What are you waiting for, kill her already!", he ordered to the remaining elite corps which didn't amount to even twenty, as well as to the three Bone Generals which couldn't approach Reyne earlier, but also dodged her attack under Aslan's orders.

The nelapsi girl whose breath was a bit ragged after using that martial art, slightly bit her lower lip with frustration, she could fight the undead that were coming for her but the result will be the same, she was sure that the enemy will summon more as soon as he had recovered from taking out the elite reaper from the black coffin,

She wasn't even close to losing of course, but in order to win she couldn't rely on brute force, well, it might have been possible if she was able to completely overwhelm her opponent… like Sarah.

'Why, why can't I use that crown unlike little Jas and her', thought the nelapsi girl, she has been trying to summon her crown since she became able to use royal nether, but the thing didn't answer to her call, apparently the first activation was triggered by awakening but she had to understand the principles behind of it to use it at will.

And let's not forget, that unlike Sarah whose talent is limitless when it comes to anything related to nether, hence why she was actually the first to obtain her crown even before the Global Raid started, and Jasmine who had much easier as her crown's ability is related to her specialty, which are buffs, Reyne has only started using her blood element which is the one her nether is tied to, recently.

'The crimson flames weren't enough to give her free reign over her crown, they just brought her to the umbral, now she is just lacking the correct "emotion" for it, well it sounds easy for an outsider but if it was that easy to achieve, that crazy girl would have been able to get rid of her curse long before even meeting me', thought Daimon.

Sarah has always had "desire" present in her existence, since her concept of lust was quite wide, she found joy in taking care of Jasmine and beating the hell out of those that secretly went after her, Adam included, but perhaps because she lacked what could be considered the "original" form of desire, as in attraction towards someone in a romantic way, her nether could still be suppressed by Reed's curse, and Daimon filled that role for her.

As for Jasmine, it took her being deceived by the light idiot to realize that what she wanted was the strength to protect others, she never wanted to find herself in the position of being a damsel in distress again, it was the anger of that situation what led her to awaken nether, but it was thanks to Daimon healing that wound that she turned it into something positive thus deviating from the violent path of wrath.

But Reyne was in an awkward position in that aspect, she was neither wrath nor death, though both were a part of her, she couldn't be angered nor mourn the death of Jessica because she grew with a pair of splendid mothers who raised her unlike Jasmine, if anything she grew in a place where death spread far and wide, there had been too much slaughter in Kerrol for its size after all, and Reyne was disgusted by it.

So, she couldn't relate herself to neither of the emotions behind the nether from which she came from, but at the same time she wasn't like Jasmine so turning to the extreme positive side isn't what she wants, nor what would benefit her the most.

In the meantime, the three Bone Generals reached Reyne who fiercely clashed against them, starting with the elite guard which punched at the nelapsi girl's side, only for his fist to be met by Reyne's.

After countering the punch from the elite guard, Reyne tilted her head sidewards, dodging the slash from the champion's sword, which normally she would have taken head on with her lance, because she needed it for what came next.

"Hsssss!", the nelapsi girl swept her flaming lance to her right to then slide it downwards, the clash between the crimson flames and the cold dark fog emitted by the ice affinity scythe wielded by the reaper undead, resulted in a violent reaction, followed by Reyne radiating crimson flames to blast away the three bone generals.

An, scene that made the Bane Lord grit his teeth, as the enemy was holding her ground against three of his elite undead which by the way were perfectly coordinated.

"Go to hell already, Royal Black Death Elite Crusher!", the black coffin floating next to Aslan trembled for a second, before a gray spike armor cladded figure rushed out of the darkness contained by the ancient battle armament.

"Shred her to pieces!", with the words of the Bane Lord, who by the way was bleeding from his mouth, due to the recoil that managing four elite undead at the same time, without Reed's mind support, brought him, the spike metal armored undead joined in the fray.

Reyne raised her guard and barely managed to react in time to let go of her lance and use both of her hands to punch in different directions, in order to stop the fists of the elite guard and the crusher.

However, as if expecting that, followed by Aslan's smirk, the spikes on the crusher's armor spiraled at high speed, against Reyne's bare fist, the result was of course that Reyne's pretty hand received countless small cuts.

"Humph!", still far from sobbing or even showing any sign of pain, the fierce nelapsi girl's arms exploded in crimson flames battle aura which threw both the elite guard and the crusher out of balance, just in time for Reyne to grab her lance and block the scythe while using her still bleeding hand to stop the sword of the champion.

Now, the sisters receiving wounds wasn't anything too extraordinary, Jasmine had bled earlier when the skin of her palm was torn due to the clash between Gram and Byron's sword, however the wounds that Reyne just received were much more notorious, especially because more blood was forced out of them.

Something that a scumbag such as Reed who was currently flying all over the battlefield, while trying to maintain distance from the crazy girl, while shooting reinforced arrows at her, just to see them being crushed by Sarah's bare hands, couldn't not notice.

"Are you sure you have the time to play tag with me, when your so dear sister is having her hands maimed by the puppets of that guy?", he mockingly said, if there was anything which Reed thought could be used to affect the emotions of the purple haired abomination he was fighting, that would be the other two who were created after her.

And in a sense Reed actually was right for a change, however he underestimated Sarah's care for her sisters.

"Of course he is, otherwise how could that stubborn cute sister of mine realize what she needs to advance~", the crazy girl's answer made Reed's eyes contract like needles as a realization hit him like a truck, he actually turned around and rushed like a madman towards Aslan's battlefield, with a Sarah who was all smiles as she followed right behind of him.

The reason for the previous was that a second ago, when the sword of the champion cut Reyne's palm, while the skin of her fingers ruptured due to the impact of blocking the scythe with her lance, it was as if time had slowed down for the nelapsi girl.

She saw the drops of blood dripping down from her hands, followed by the blood red mist coming out to heal her wounds, and then her previous thought which ended with Sarah, reminded her of something that although annoying, she can't find but admire about her crazy older sister, there is always a reason behind her seemingly chaotic actions.

And then with a crimson glow flashing through her eyes, the nelapsi girl twisted her body, which resulted in both the sword and the scythe with which she was clashing to land on the ground as Reyne had gotten out of the way, to then appear behind the elite reaper and crusher with her pretty hands closed to form fists.

"Boooom!", the nelapsi girl punched the elite undead smacking them against the ground, which actually shook due to the impact.

"What the hell are you two bastards doing, get up already and kill her!", yelled Aslan, only to realize that… his undead weren't following his orders, but that's not the worst part yet, a magnificent crimson crown suddenly manifested above the head of the blond-haired girl he was fighting.

"What did you do!", demanded the Bane Lord only to see Reyne kick his undead so that they would lay face up instead, imagine the surprise on Aslan's face when he saw that instead of the original black death nether that could be seen inside the eyes of the bone generals, there was now red flames mixed in, both nethers were fiercely clashing, and the result was that the undead couldn't follow Aslan's commands.

"I simply sealed them, undead can't handle strong vitality, like the one contained in my blood for example", proudly said the nelapsi girl, who looked at her hands, where the blood which used to stain them was starting to turn into the same red mist which she was bestowed by Sarah, but now the origin of it was her!
