Reincarnated with a lucky draw system

Chapter 127: DEFYING DEATH(BONUS CHAPTER)

"You are back. And you didn't kill him," Alice said, breathing a sigh of relief as she watched Aaron return, Rex by his side. The ruined sanctuary's air was still thick with dust and the faint metallic tang of blood, but Alice's voice cut through it like a beacon, her shoulders relaxing as the tension drained from her body.

"Technically he killed me. And then I came back to life," Rex corrected, his voice rough from the ordeal, a hint of dry humor creeping in despite the pain still lingering in his regenerated limbs.

"And I'm sorry for attacking you," he apologized, bowing his head genuinely. The gesture was awkward, his unkempt fur and scars making him look like a broken warrior, but his eyes held a spark of sincerity forged from Aaron's brutal lesson.

Before they had arrived, Aaron had taught Rex a manner or two until Rex was smart enough to know how to deal with people close to Aaron. The quick education had been harsh, Aaron's hybrid dominance drilling the rules into Rex's mind like a system update, ensuring loyalty in this new dynamic.

"It's alright," Alice replied, a smile on her face, her forgiveness genuine, the warmth in her expression easing the heavy atmosphere of the ruins.

"Okay. With that out of the way. Time to find Rose," Aaron said, cracking his hands. His knuckles popped with a sharp sound, the motion releasing some of the pent-up energy from his recent torture session, his mind already shifting to the next task.

His battle with Rex had given him a crazy idea. The werewolf's resilience had sparked something in his system-enhanced brain, a wild plan to push his Primordial talent's limits, the kind of bold move that defined his reincarnated life.

"I hope this works," Aaron muttered, placing his hands on the ground. The ruined soil was cold and jagged under his palms, debris digging into his skin, but he ignored it, focusing on the temporal energy stirring within him.

Rex and Alice watched him out of interest, curious about what he planned to do. Rex's eyes narrowed, his werewolf senses picking up the strange shift in the air, while Alice's expression mixed concern and trust, the group's silence heavy with anticipation.

Aaron placed his hand on the ground, and with determination, he rewound time of the entire city, reverting things back to how it was a year ago. The power flowed from him like a river, time bending under his will, the air humming with an otherworldly vibration as the ruins began to shift.

Slowly, collapsing buildings reverted back to their perfect state, mangled corpses returning to perfect condition. Bricks reassembled themselves with a grinding sound, flesh knitting back together in a grotesque reverse decay, the city's skyline rising like a phoenix from the ashes.

The ruined city soon returned to the beautiful sanctuary it once was. The streets gleamed anew, flowers blooming in reverse wilt, the air clearing of dust to reveal vibrant colors and the faint scent of life restored.

It took Aaron two hours to revert the entire city to its perfect state a year ago, the process draining all of his energy. Aaron's knee buckled, as he fell to the ground. His body felt heavy, mana depleted, the temporal strain pulling at his hybrid core like an overused lucky draw.

But time, as if Aaron falling to the ground was a taboo, reverted time, preventing him from touching the ground, reverting his condition to his perfect state before casting the spell. All without Aaron's input. The reversal was seamless, energy flooding back into him, his body snapping upright as if the exhaustion had never happened.

"I love this talent," Aaron muttered, staring at the reverted city with satisfaction on his face. The sanctuary now bustled with phantom echoes of its former glory, a testament to his growing mastery, though the silence reminded him of the limits still binding him.

[You reverted the city to its original state and the corpses. But that's it. You couldn't revive the dead. That's beyond your current control of your talent. You can only revert inanimate objects to their old state. You can't return them to the state when they are living as your control over your talent can't allow you to cross the boundary of life and death yet.] The system informed, pouring cold water on Aaron's effort. Not to dampen his spirit but to allow him to face the truth, its voice a neutral buzz in his mind.

"I know. I expected that outcome. But that's not my only ability that can bypass the boundary of life and death," Aaron said, a smile on his face as a large volume of blood poured out endlessly from his body, rising to the sky. The blood flowed like a crimson river, defying gravity, the air thickening with the metallic scent as it gathered above.

"Time to bring everyone back to life," Aaron smiled, allowing his blood to pour down like rain. The droplets fell in a red shower, coating the restored city, a macabre storm of revival.

The blood fell on every corpse, those within the buildings taken outside by Rex after Aaron's instruction. The corpses, now pristine from the time rewind, lay in neat rows under the open sky, the blood soaking into their skin with a faint sizzle.

The blood seeped through the skin of the corpses and found its way into the heart and brain of the corpses. It infiltrated like a living entity, pulsing through veins long still, restarting functions with a jolt of hybrid power.

The blood forcefully restarted the body functions of the corpses, bringing them all back to life. Hearts beat again, lungs filled with air, eyes fluttering open in confusion and awe.

One by one, the corpses were filled with life, as the people resurrected from death, becoming immortals. Gasps and murmurs filled the air, the once-dead citizens rising, their bodies invigorated with eternal vitality, a gift from Aaron's blood.

Among the people resurrected was Rose, alongside her family. Rose's eyes opened wide, her breath catching as she sat up, her family stirring beside her, the shock of revival washing over them like a wave.

"Perfect. You are all awake. Welcome back to life," Aaron said, a smile on his face as he stared at everyone he had resurrected, a satisfied look on his face. The city now teemed with life, a testament to his power, the ordinary citizens gazing at him with a mix of fear and gratitude.

[You really think crazy things when you want to] the system said, surprised by Aaron's impressive thinking, its voice carrying a rare note of admiration.

"I know," Aaron said, moving at an instant with time flash as he appeared before Rose and her family. The flash was a blur, time bending slightly around him, leaving a faint afterimage.

"Rose. It's good to see you," Aaron said, a smile on his face, his voice warm despite the cruelty he had just unleashed on the world.

"Aaron," Rose called out softly, tears threatening to fall from her eyes, as she ran into Aaron's embrace. Her body trembled, the relief overwhelming, her arms wrapping around him tightly.

"I'm so sorry... I regret staying behind," Rose said, regret etched on her face, her voice breaking with emotion, the memory of the city's destruction still fresh in her revived mind.

"It's okay. I'm aware. Even I wouldn't leave my family behind," Aaron said, patting her head gently, his touch reassuring, the gesture a rare moment of tenderness in his hybrid existence.

"Now. To make you into a hybrid," Aaron said, smiling, as he injected his blood into her, stabbing her heart instantly. The motion was swift, his finger piercing her chest, blood flowing in with a surge.
