Chapter 90: Talking to Lilith
After seeing the result, Lilith fell silent for a moment, contemplating her choices.
She said, "How about you invite him here? I am going to talk to him directly."
"Eh?" Erica widened her eyes in confusion, wondering whether it was alright or not. However, Lilith was determined to talk to Albert, so she said, "Understood. I will call him here."
Erica hurriedly brought the mirror outside her room, so Lilith could meet Albert, who was waiting in the living room.
Albert saw the familiar figure behind the mirror, so he stood up as an act of courtesy while testing her.
Lilith immediately said, "There's no need to be that polite. Just be at ease and sit down. Place me in front of him."
Erica followed her command without hesitation and placed the mirror in front of him, allowing Lilith to get a closer look at Albert.
Albert's expression became serious as he wondered what her plan was.
Lilith raised her hand nonchalantly as if she didn't care about their difference of status. She said, "This conversation is not between a citizen and a ruler. This is between you and me. So, be at ease."
Lilith sounded a bit arrogant, but it was normal considering she was the ruler of the Lust Kingdom. No matter how humble she was, there would always be a trace of her arrogance as it had been instilled for years or decades.
"Thank you." Albert nodded in understanding.
"Anyway, I don't think you're planning to beat around the bush, so I will just say what I want to say." Lilith paused for a moment. "First of all, I want to tell you that…"
Her expression became cold as she squinted her eyes. If she wasn't behind the mirror, Albert would have felt her killing intent.
"I can simply kill you and take those Magic Potions from you." Lilith smiled.
Albert had expected this. His answer came from the one that he had prepared after meeting Yale.
"Yeah, sure. Kill me then. We'll see whether you'll regret it or not." Albert smiled with confidence, not scared of Lilith's empty threat.
*Gasp!* Erica took a step back as she was wondering what just happened. It was clear that Albert didn't have any strength against Lilith. Yet, he didn't even consider Lilith's status as a ruler and simply talked back to her without any fear.
Even though Lilith told him it was alright to talk casually, all people would still be polite to her because they were scared that Lilith would take their words as aggression and hunt them down.
However, it was different for Albert. He wasn't afraid of getting hunted down as he simply stated, "You should also prepare to pay some price if you chose to kill me."
'Isn't he threatening Her Majesty?' Erica flinched, thinking Albert had gone crazy.
Lilith raised her eyebrows before smiling. That smile was enough to change the direction of this conversation.
"Haha!" She chuckled and said, "You're so confident."
Albert didn't say anything as if he had expected this reaction.
Lilith's expression turned serious when she didn't get the expected reaction from Albert. She asked with a serious tone. "Since when did you realize?"
Albert paused for a moment. "It's easy to realize it. You have been asking your subordinate to form a mutual relationship with me. So, I believe there's something going on with the central command, which is you.
"I'm assuming that you can actually kill me easily, but you know that having me alive will be more beneficial for you."
Lilith smiled and nodded. "Interesting. You're the first man who dares to talk like me that way. At the same time, not many men can actually talk to me as they're just stunned after witnessing my appearance."
"And that's the exact reason why you haven't killed me until now, even though you have realized my power," Albert added.
"Indeed. Though, there's still the option for me to kill you." She smirked.
"Yeah. In that case, send those people to me. If I don't die, I'm gonna kick your ass in the future." Albert squinted his eyes.
"Watch your mouth!" Erica couldn't help but shout. Although this was a conversation between Lilith and Albert, she couldn't contain her anger when Albert disrespected Lilith continuously.
Lilith waved her hand and said, "It's fine. It's been a while since I've seen someone this interesting."
Albert remained silent, wondering what she was up to.
"It's true that I have my own motive to get closer to you. And I don't mind admitting that I'm truly surprised by your power since you keep shocking me every time, including this Magic Potion.
"I'm assuming it's related to the pixies, right?" Lilith smiled.
Albert knew this smile. It was when they thought they knew everything. Albert shook his head and said playfully. "Nope. You're wrong."
"Eh?" Lilith's body was shaken for a split second as she stared at Albert in disbelief. "You're supposed to say—!"
Before she finished, Albert shrugged. "Whatever."
"To think you would play dumb even though I have all the information needed here." Lilith pinched the bridge of her nose as if she had just lost the conversation. She chuckled for a minute before saying, "Well, even though I have the information, it's impossible for me to reproduce the same Magic Potion.
"Although I don't know the process of making the Magic Potion, I know that it's related to your unique power. That's why you're so confident that I won't kill you." Lilith shrugged her shoulders. "So, do you want to start or should I propose a deal for you?"
"I would like to hear your thoughts first." Albert smiled and extended his hand as if telling her to hurry up and talk.
Lilith fell silent for a moment and said, "Erica. You leave this place first. I need to talk to him in private."
"Understood." Erica nodded and immediately walked outside the house. Instead of sulking, she was looking at the surroundings, making sure no one eavesdropped on their conversation.
This way, there was only Albert and Lilith talking face to face.
"To be honest, I already have some suspicion, but when did you first arrive in this world?" Lilith asked with a smile.
Albert's heart skipped a beat, but his expression remained unchanged. He didn't wish to give any information about it.
It was at this time Lilith explained her findings. "Do you know a female human knight called Alisa? My subordinate met her a week ago, and I got some information about you. Lustville Town was it…
"Anyway, it was quite surprising that someone would appear in front of that town with such a ridiculous story.
"It was true that you were not lying, but everything was resolved as soon as I investigated your family name. There wasn't a single word about the Gran Family as if they never existed.
"It was easy to think this as you trying to impersonate yourself as a noble, but then it would break the truth. In other words, you would have lied, and the truth crystal would pick up on that lie.
"Then, I got the information about the previous Great Sage. He told the previous succubus queen that someone had the power to relieve the curse of the succubus.
"Considering the Great Sage was someone summoned from another world, I was certain that the person he was talking about came from his world.
"With your family name and other information, I concluded that you're a person from another world. But then again, there's something that doesn't add up. According to the information from those braves, there's no demon in that world." Lilith fell silent for a moment. "So, I believe that my investigation and conclusion are already correct, but not entirely."
Albert remained silent. His heart had been beating rapidly as he was screaming inwardly, 'What's the deal with this succubus? How can she be so smart? But then again, she's a ruler. If she's not smart, the kingdom will be ruined.'
Lilith added, "It's fine not to answer. The reason I told you all this is because you're the first demon that comes from another world. This whole time, the humans are the only ones who can summon braves. So, I'm just curious.
"Also, since I have captured a human who seems to be harboring hate toward you, I want to ask you whether I should kill her or not." Lilith smirked.
"…" Albert closed his eyes for a moment and sighed. "Don't kill her. She just needs some medication."
This answer was what Lilith had been waiting for. She smiled, "I see. As expected, you're someone who can liberate our curse. I've seen the woman and realized that she's the same level of lewdness as us to the point I wonder why she's a human instead of a succubus.
"And with your answer earlier, I know that you have something that can cure her. This means your power is also effective to us." Lilith smirked.
"…" Albert was speechless. He had never faced someone this smart. However, he remembered that the politicians on Earth were also good at playing with words to get what they wanted, so she knew Lilith was good because she was the ruler.
He thought for a moment and asked, "Why do you look so happy when knowing that I'm the bane of your existence?"
"I'm happy and angry at the same time. You lessening the lustful demons mean the succubus won't have enough supply of energy to get stronger. We'll become oppressed sooner or later.
"At the same time, I'm happy to know that someone has this power. After all, we, succubus, can't choose our race. For some, this lust is just a hindrance that we want to get rid of.
"Some of us aren't that lustful to begin with. There is another group of succubus thinking that this charm is their power. In fact, they've become strong because of this power, so their words are true.
"I think you already understand what I'm implying. Your power allows us to have this option. If we don't like this, we can go to you and become a normal demon." Lilith smiled.
Albert squinted his eyes. He didn't know why but Lilith's face told him she was lonely. It might be because of her power that not many people could talk to her, making her like this.
"So, what do you want to know?"
"I want to ask whether you truly have the power to liberate this curse or not."
"Haven't you answered your own question earlier?"
"I wish to learn it from the person who holds that power himself."
"Yes and no." Albert shook his head. "I have the power, but it might be permanent or temporary depending on your case. That's all I can say for now."
"I see. Some succubus still rely on their charm to make everything work even though they also want to get rid of their power for a period of time." Lilith nodded. "Thank you for telling me this.
"I think I have made a decision. You can actually go around my territory and use your power however you like. But I want you to refrain yourself from leaving a lifelong effect. From what I heard, the succubus could still recover from their conditions, unlike the people you attacked.
"So, I can control a few things for you to make sure you don't become a criminal when you're doing this."
Albert's body flinched as he thought, 'What? The succubus is actually allowing me to bonk horny demons? Seriously?'
He couldn't understand what was inside Lilith's head anymore. He looked at her and asked, "Are you sure about this?"
"Yes. As long as you're within the limit. I'm sure that it's a good reward for the succubus to have some time off and just enjoy their days without naturally releasing their charm." She smiled.
Albert thought for a moment and said, "But I need to remind you. I'm the one who decides what I do in my life, not you."
"Of course. You're free to do whatever you want. I'm simply enabling you to do a few more things. Whether you choose to take this deal or just break this apart and offend me, it's your choice." Lilith smiled.
