Chapter 63: Cultured Great Sage
In the Succubus Queen's Castle.
Lilith had finally returned to her own castle and the first thing she did was ask her minister to provide her the information about the fight between the Great Sage and the previous queen.
After receiving a few pages of information, she returned to her office and read it.
"This is the information you want, Your Majesty." Another succubus handed her the papers.
"Thanks." Lilith took it and started reading what it was all about. "By the way, what do you know about this fight?"
"I don't know that much." The succubus shook her head. "Like our seven deadly sins, the humans have the five braves, who later made kingdoms to protect humanity. They're the Hero, Great Sage, Magic Empress, Saintess, and Sniper.
"The Great Sage was the one that resisted us by making the Risourin Kingdom. During the last fight, he lost and died at the hand of the previous queen. However, the queen had spent all her power and died because of the injury."
Lilith already knew that much, but what she desired was the part that she mentioned someone like Albert.
After a while, she finally found the thing she had been searching for.
"In the fight, the Great Sage and I were equal. We both heavily injured each other and might even die together. However, the human body was weaker than that of a demon. So, the Great Sage collapsed before me.
"Although he was my equal, I respected the Great Sage. Right before he died, he had one wish he wanted me to fulfill.
"I was shocked by his request because his dying wish was just to die with his head in my lap. He didn't even wish for his body to be buried properly, fully knowing that I could use his body as propaganda to weaken the Risourin Kingdom.
"In the end, I granted his wish and put his head on my lap. It was then he told me his last words.
"The Great Sage said, 'I am strong, but it's true that I'm no match against the temptation. In my hometown, there is an existence that can become the bane of your succubus because his power is specially created to counter your charm.
"I wouldn't tell you his appearance, but if he actually bonked me with his bat before fighting you, I would be able to win because your charm wouldn't work against me.
"Unfortunately, he hasn't blessed this world with his presence yet. At the same time, I can tell you that he might be what you people are waiting for.
"After resisting you for so long, I know that the lust inside your body can become your weapon and your strength that allows you to do many things in this world. Yet, I know that a portion of you consider this unending lust as a curse.
"That's why I believe if that guy appears, you will need to reconsider whether you want to kill him, capture him, or befriend him. After all, he might be able to become the bane of your existence or the person who could break you from the curse of unending lust.
"And I know that he will appear sooner or later. Still, these thighs are heavenly. I don't regret dying with these thighs."
"Ignoring the last sentence, the Great Sage's words blew my mind. I never thought that there would be an existence like that.
"I know that sometimes this charm actually worked as a curse. In my prime, I wished to have someone to love me, but I couldn't achieve it as no one was sincere enough.
"If there was truly someone who could lift this curse of mine for a certain period, I wished to meet this person and enjoy my life. But by the time I finish writing my last words, I don't think I will be in this world anymore.
"For my descendants, I only have one piece of advice for you. Consider your choice because his existence isn't only related to our race and humanity. However, I won't stop you if you wish to kill him as long as you have thought this through."
After reading this piece of information, she pinched the bridge of her nose, thinking, 'Curse and Strength, huh…'
She couldn't help but agree to that. When she walked around, her body naturally emanated her aura that could enchant people, stunning them. That was the reason why there was no one that dared to oppose her even though she was the weakest among the seven Demon Lords.
"Well, I should think more about this…" Lilith sighed and looked at the succubus. "Leave me first."
The succubus politely bowed and walked away.
Lilith sighed and muttered, "Bane of our existence or the hero who can break our curse, huh…"
…
While Lilith was thinking about Albert, the latter had reached the destination Yale had in mind.
The town was near the border between the Pride Kingdom and the Lust Kingdom. It was known as Palnac Town.
"This is the town." Yale pointed at the town that didn't have any walls to surround it. "There are three reasons why I chose this town.
"First, the geography. The west and the north are surrounded by forests, allowing us to hide there if something bad happens. We can even use it to be our safe passage in order to escape anyone who wants to kill us.
"To the south, we can simply go to the Lust Kingdom, crossing the border. Seeing Her Majesty Lilith's interest in you, there is a chance for us to enter her kingdom to seek refuge. I mean, this is just our last resort.
"And in our direction, we have this grassland. No one can hide from this grassland, making our job easier. If we venture a bit farther away, we will be able to find many monsters to hunt. Selling them will be able to provide us with some money.
"Last but not least, since we're near the Lust Kingdom, we can simply sneak around their town and bonk some people to get stronger. Just a small raid…" Yale ended his explanation with a smirk.
"Yeah. We can do that. For now, we need to settle down in this town…" Albert nodded in agreement.
"Before that, because I need a new identity, I would like to go there first."
"Sure. Let's go together."
"Now that I think about it, what's your Adventurer Rank?" Yale asked.
"Ehm? What is that?" Albert raised his eyebrows and tilted his head.
"Eh? You don't know about it."
"Yeah."
"The rank is to assess our power to make sure we don't die in vain. I mean, there's no way they're going to ask me to subdue a real dragon." Yale shrugged.
"I see. I didn't know any of that. Back when I first reached my first town, I only got the ID Card to prove my identity."
"Ah, I see. In that case, it's better if we go there immediately." Yale nodded.
"Okay. Let's do that."
The two agreed and walked to the town. At the same time, Yale also explained, "Actually, there are three types of ID Cards. The first one is a normal card that everyone has. This will allow you to go around the world but with some sort of limitation.
"And if you want to be prioritized, it's better to get some Special ID Card, reflecting your own power. Adventurer card is one of them. As long as we increase our rank, the soldiers will prioritize us.
"As for the last type, it's to become a noble. When your name is known to the world, they will obviously be scared of you. No one will stop you at the gate under normal circumstances."
"I see. The system seems to be complicated. At the same time, it must be working quite well."
"Yeah."
The two passed the gate without much problem. The town was similar to Borsoli Town and Yale chose this place because they had all facilities needed inside the town.
So, they didn't need to leave this town to get something.
Albert was impressed that Yale could think something like this at his age. He was aware that Yale seemed to be more mature than people his age, but he truly underestimated Yale's intelligence.
Having him was the same as having an advisor, so Yale was his biggest catch since he came to this world.
They headed straight to the adventurer guild.
Yale was the one who led him there as he admitted he had gone to this town many times to play.
Inside the guild, they found a female fox. She had long golden hair that matched her long tail. She wore glasses that added the intensity of her aloof expression.
When she saw Yale and Albert, she asked, "Can I help you?"
"Yes. We would like to register as an adventurer." Yale answered.
She frowned and asked, "Are you sure?"
She wasn't convinced because Yale was still too young to do something like this.
However, Yale stated with a calm expression. "There should be a test, right? If I can't pass, I will just give up."
"That's true. You will be tested to see your adventurers rank because we can't expect a strong person to start all over from the bottom." The female nodded. Seeing Yale's confident face, she finally agreed. "I understand."
"It's for both of us. He's my teacher, but on the literacy side." Yale pointed at Albert. This was the story Yale prepared to cover Albert's lack of strength.
"Understood. I need your name before undergoing several tests. As you can see, we're adhering to the motto of the kingdom, so we will judge you based on your strength and courage, not your age. Since you have prepared for this, we can proceed with the test immediately."
"Alright. That's fine for us."
"In that case, you should know that it will cost you one silver coin to register, right? This is required to complete the test and produce the card."
"It's fine." Yale handed her two silver coins without hesitation.
The fox thought Albert let Yale do all this because he wanted to teach him how to handle a conversation with people, so she didn't bother to look at Albert and completely take care of Yale's request.
"I am Yale and my teacher is called Albert." Yale didn't say anything about their surname to make sure they didn't stand out that much.
The fox then recorded it and pointed at the door next to the counter. "Go there to get your Magic Power assessed. After that, follow the instructions from the person inside to test your physical strength."
She handed them the tag before letting them go.
Yale took the tag and handed one of them to Albert. The latter looked at the wooden badge that seemed to have several holes in it. There were a few characters that might indicate their current strength.
They then walked to the side and opened the door, finding another room with a middle-aged werewolf sitting behind a table. On top of the table, they found a round crystal.
"Hmm?" The middle-aged man was surprised to see someone as young as Yale would take part in this since he saw a tag in his hand.
"We're going to take the test," said Yale while handing the token.
Although he was curious about their reason, he received the token because he wanted to see their strength. There should be a reason why the kid wanted to test it, especially if they came with an adult.
Albert also handed his token.
"Alright. Just place your hand on the crystal and it will measure your Magic Power. Some think Warrior doesn't need Magic Power, but they're wrong. They need something like that to pursue stronger strength, so this is a must in this process." The middle-aged man pointed at the crystal.
Yale turned to Albert and asked, "Who wants to go first?"
"You first." Albert shrugged.
Yale nodded and placed his hand on the crystal.
The transparent crystal soon changed. White light and a dark flame appeared, filling twenty percent of the crystal.
"What?!"
