Chapter 12: Chapter-11: The preparations Completed! The Imperial Tomb!
After some hours Emperor Chu Tiankuo was led out by the four to throne room. While the ministers were already on suffering mode, their anxiety reached extreme state with heart beating at such fatal state that they could die due to heart attack as they saw Emperor Tiankuo entering the room.
Though afraid they bowed to greet the emperor. Ignoring them, Emperor Chu Tiankuo headed for the Empress who was a bit panicked but welcomed him with a smile along with all other concubines and princes as well as princesses. Without saying anything he slapped her as hard as he could causing her to fall on ground while everyone excluding Long Chen, Grandmaster, Chu Yao and Chu Feng stared the situation at shock. As she asked for the reason he started to yell out every damn problem starting from throwing out the Long family out of the Imperial Grounds, helping the ministers, neglecting the civilians and the rules of the Imperial Family and notifying the marriage of Chu Yao with the the damned Xia Empire's prince and breaking his words of marriage between Chu Yao and Long Chen.
The Empress tried to retort stating she did that for the Imperial Chu Family and the Phoenix Cry Empire. But Emperor Chu Tiankuo just said, "Don't lie to me." His eyes filled with bloodlust he then asks Long Chen to take of his veil and to everyone's surprise Long Chen takes off his robes as a Pill Adept and the hood that had covered his face. The fear among hearts all including Marquis Ying converted into terror when Long Chen revealed his real identity.
Long Chen headed towards Marquis Ying who was being treated and he was being treated, Long Chen said him, with a face without any emotions, to call the bastard Wei Cang to come here in excuse of helping them to get rid of Grandmaster Yun Qi to which Ying nods obediently in fear. Asking his master to help Uncle Chu and taking the Emperor's Royal Tablet he heads to his friends taking Chu Yao and Chu Feng to their next destination, the Library of Imperial Academy.
With the news of Emperor's awakening an uproar started to arise within the entire empire and a wondrous calamity befall the nobles as all the corrupted nobles were started to be punished one by one. The Civilians were cheering as their sufferings were finally ending and the empire would once again return to normal. Along that Long Chen's father, Marquis Long Tianxiao, along with his army was also asked return after having cleared the problems to a certain level of safety. It took a whole month to finish the task however with Pill Emperor, Grandmaster Yun Qi's help the work became easy as his identity was being kept hidden with the Look Changing Pill.
Within the month, Long Chen and his friends as well as his fiancé and brother-in-law took out multiple technique from the Imperial Academy's Library that suited them and without any problems with help of Emperor's Royal Tablet. Long Chen successfully got the 'Split the Heavens First Form' to form. After getting the technique Long Chen went into seclusion for a whole month handing the tablet to Shi Feng as Chu Yao and Chu Feng could easily enter the Imperial Library being the prince and princess.
There were nine dots which were actually nine runes. The Split the heavens technique actually focused on developing the will to go against the Heavenly Daos, go against the bindings of those 10,000-Daos and Split the Heavens and the Earths that stands in against of them to block them. Though it took a whole day Long Chen successfully engraved the first rune of Split the heavens.
As Long Chen's current prowess was equivalent to the original Long Chen in the Xuantian Monastery at peak of Blood Condensation Realm, it should have been easy for him to finish forming all Nine Runes within his meridians within a day but it was slow and totally difficult process. And why? Because Long Chen was not simply using his Qi; he was channeling the astral energy from his Fengfu Star and intertwining it with his formidable Saber Will. This combination was both innovative and demanding, creating a synergistic effect that was powerful yet stable. The rune being formed was not just a simple inscription; it was a condensed manifestation of his will, emanating a potent force that resonated with the core principles of 'Split the Heavens.' Also as the first rune completed forming in all of his meridians, a resonance started to form in between his own Will, Saber Will and the technique's inherent Will was a clear sign of his deepening mastery.
Though it took a whole month, Long Chen successfully formed all the Nine Runes in each of his meridians while his Saber Will had condensed to a whole another level. All he nine runes together resonated Long Chen's Martial Will and Saber Will forcing him to feel vengeful against the Heavenly Daos for which he had to enter a meditative state of a week to finally control his emotions and Martial. Not only he himself, but even his father, uncle Chu, his friends and other were shocked as Long Chen could now condense a Saber and use it in a fight like a real one but not only was it taxing Long Chen's aura at that state made the others feel shivers down their spines feeling the Will of the Technique in synergy with Long Chen's aura trying to defy Heaven Daos and Heaven's Will.
Long Chen used the 'Split the Heavens' and as expected he could use it once without injuring himself by just spending 75% of his Qi while the power was beyond measure just as it was stated in Novel. When Long Chen first released the technique, he used all his power including his Saber Will acting as medium and Astral Energy from Fengfu Pill along with Qi from the Cyclones in his Dantian in the direction of a isolated hill caused everyone to almost fall faint due shock including Long Chen as the hill was split in two with a large gap in between while Long Chen himself felt too tired but to his surprise he brokethrough to the 'Great Circle of Qi Condensing Realm' as his Fengfu Star started undergoing Eighth Transformation.
Though it took more time than anticipated Long Chen found that it was due to the energy of Fengfu Pill within his body getting slowly absorbed by his Fengfu Star after having been drained till nothing was left. Long Chen was overjoyed and thought of draining his astral energy to the limit.
But Long Chen spent half a month with his family i.e. his father, mother also with Chu Yao, Chu Feng and his friends along with Wilde who was now looking a bit manlier than before but still like a kid yet strange lines started to arise within his body which as Long Chen knew was slow but steady awakening of his Barbarian Bloodline.
Having spent enough time in fun with his close, loved ones with feeling of the bustling mortal life, Long Chen started to train his Master. He and his master spent entire day from early morning to late evening in studying and comprehending the First Volume of Nirvana Scripture as he and his master soon delved into the profound depths of the Nirvana Scripture.
Due to having familiarity with the scripture from Pill God's memories, Long Chen was able to learn quickly and so, he approached the scripture with a familiarity that allowed him to absorb its teachings swiftly. The previous experiences and the deep, intrinsic understanding passed down through these memories facilitated a seamless learning process.
The study sessions between Long Chen and Grandmaster Yun Qi were intense and enlightening. They would sit for hours, their discussions punctuated by periods of deep contemplation and sudden bursts of insight. The exchange of their views and understandings was mutually beneficial, each enhancing the other's comprehension. The synergy between them was palpable, and it wasn't long before they managed to decipher and complete the entire scripture within a remarkably short span of three days.
Upon completing the Nirvana Scripture, the effects were immediate and profound. Grandmaster Yun Qi experienced a significant breakthrough in his Spiritual Strength, a testament to the scripture's potency. Long Chen, too, felt a surge of power coursing through him. His connection to the Nirvana Scripture was deeply personal and transformative. He could feel himself nearing the Ninth Transformation, a critical juncture that signified the completion of his Fengfu Star and the awakening of the 'One Star Battle Armor.' This transformation was also the key to his advancement towards the Blood Condensation Realm.
As the weeks had turned into months, three to be precise, significant changes had swept through the Empire. The awakening of Emperor Chu Tiankuo had brought about a seismic shift in the political landscape. The nobles who had been punished, along with their families, harbored deep resentment and unhappiness. Yet, for the majority of the populace, these changes were a source of great joy and relief. The people saw a brighter future ahead, free from the corruption and tyranny of the disgraced nobles.
Uh, wait… it can't be possible… there was another one who was unhappy, it was Long Chen. The current Long Chen was crying at the corner of the house because even his mother and Bao-er had reached the Blood Condensation Realm but he still was unable to reach the Ninth Transformation.
The sight of Long Chen in such a state was both pitiable and, to a certain extent, amusingly funny to those who cared about him. His family and loved ones, including Uncle Chu, Chu Yao, Chu Feng, and others, could not help but feel a mixture of sympathy and amusement. They understood the immense pressure Long Chen placed on himself and the high standards he set. However, seeing him, a typically stoic and resilient figure, reduced to tears over his perceived lack of progress, elicited chuckles and light-hearted teasing.
Despite their comforting words, Long Chen's frustration was not easily assuaged. The laughter and light-heartedness of his friends were well-intentioned, meant to lift his spirits, but they also highlighted his feelings of inadequacy. He couldn't shake the feeling that he was falling behind, even though rationally, he knew that his journey was far from ordinary and even his power as in the entire Phoenix Cry Empire, he was only second to his Master in terms of power.
But Long Chen got a hold of himself because even though he couldn't breakthrough to Blood Condensation Realm and neither could he reach the Ninth Transformation of Fengfu Star, he was successfully able to strengthen his Spiritual Roots as well as Spiritual Strength to be twice as strong as before and also he was able to copy Original Long Chen's flame technique: 'The Xuantian Lotus' which may be weaker and uncondensed as the Original Long Chen's but is still quite efficient for his current stage strong enough to rival one-half of the power his current 'Split The Heavens' with only 25% consumption rate.
After some hours, at midnight when the moon, golden in colour, reached at position just above the Imperial Palace it's light fell upon the Imperial Tomb as written in the diary and the Imperial Tomb was currently restricted to others except the people who were within the place i.e. Emperor Chu Tiankuo, Marquis Long Tianxiao, Long Chen and his friends as well as Fiance and brother-in-law.
As the moonlight fell on the tomb of Founding Emperor a strange vibration was felt as the Tomb started to shake a bit and a small hole opened where Emperor Chu transferred some his energy and so a voice, slow and kind yet ancient and thunderous, is heard; "Finally, the time has come. I thank the Imperial Chu Family for fulfilling the promise made by their ancestors and I welcome the Nine Star Heir." just as the voice ends, a portal from vortex of energy is formed originating from the small hole.
Long Chen, his friends along with Chu Feng and Chu Yao enter the Vortex disappearing from the place. The group of three elders, long Chen's father, uncle Chu and master outside pray for their safety and safe return. As the group enters the tomb they find themselves in front of an old man. They all for some reason find the old man to be very respectful and so they greet him with respect while Long Chen not only feels respectful but also feels very familiar bonding with the old man.
Long Chen asks, "What is the trial senior?" to which the reply was, "There is no any trial dear Nine Star Heir. Long Chen"
All of them were shocked to know that the elder knew their names as the old man one by one says their name and to fulfill their curiosity the elder clarifies that he had been living within this place for a long time which is why he would eventually use his Spiritual Strength to get to know about the condition of the city every 50 years or so.
After that Long Chen and others formally greet the old man introducing themselves to which the old man replies, "I, am Xie Yuan, the last surviving disciple of Starry River Sect from the Ancient Era."
When Long Chen heard the introduction of the old man, he was shocked to core of his soul beyond anything he had ever felt, as not only was the old man a direct disciple of Starry River Sect but the old man was from the Ancient Era i.e. more than a million years ago which doesn't match up with the 2000-years old time that was written in the 13th-Emperor's Diary so, unable to hold his curiosity piques about what the truth was, why he was bounded here though being an ancient entity, and what was the inheritance? as he a thought came across his mind; 'The Starry River of Sky Art' and if that was the legacy, excitement dwelled in his heart as he would now be able to help his comrades and buddies to grow faster and more stronger than before.
But Shi Feng a bit nervous asked, "Senior, according to what was stated, there should be a trial. Is it really not going to happen?" to which everyone's focus once again centered at the point as they looked at the old man curiously.
