Reincarnated into the strongest family

Chapter 3: The Awakening of My Mana Core

At four years old, I could feel it—my mana core was nearly formed, and I was on the cusp of something extraordinary. My mana circulation had improved greatly over the past few months, to the point where I no longer needed Lily's help. Garret, though a skilled magic user, had other duties, and I was left to manage on my own with the servants when it came to circulating my mana.

However, I could feel it building, the tightness within my core, and I knew that the moment of my awakening had arrived. I could sense the mana swelling within me, waiting to be compressed into something new and powerful.

Back in my room, alone, I sat in a meditative stance, eyes closed, breathing deeply as I focused on the task at hand. I reached out with my senses, gathering the mana that surrounded me, pulling it toward my core. The energy felt alive, almost as if it were pushing against my control, but I was determined. Just a little more, and it will be complete.

I focused intently, and as I compressed the final piece of mana into my core, the air seemed to hum around me. A sharp, biting pain surged through my veins. My body began to glow faintly, radiating with the force of the awakening. I grit my teeth, fighting the instinct to scream, but it was the price of power.

Suddenly, the first element surged into being.

Lightning.

A crackling surge of energy shot through my body like a storm contained within my very veins. My limbs burned with power, an electric tingle flooding every nerve, sparking and crackling. It felt like I was standing in the heart of a thunderstorm, the energy coursing through me with such intensity that it was as if I could run a marathon without breaking a sweat. My heart raced as the electricity coursed through my body—vibrant, infinite.

The moment the lightning element stabilized, a rush of energy flooded my body as my core shifted once more. I could feel another change, something new building within me.

Gravity.

It was subtle at first—just a slight shift in the air around me—but as the gravity element took hold, I could feel the space around me distorting. The world seemed to grow heavier and lighter all at once. It was as if the weight of everything in the room was pulling down on me, but at the same time, I felt lighter, as if I were floating just slightly off the ground. The sensation was unsettling at first, a strange conflict of forces within my own body. But it was mine to control.

Then, the final element began to take shape.

The Void.

It wasn't like the others. There was no surge of power, no rush of energy. Instead, a profound emptiness spread through me—a feeling of absence, of nothingness. The ring in my core was the deepest black, its edges surrounded by a faint aura of purple and gray. When I focused, it was as though the very fabric of reality bent around the void. The sensation was haunting, the absence of matter so complete that it felt as though I could slip into an eternal silence, a place beyond the reach of time. But in this absence, I also found an unsettling power.

The void element did not bring a feeling of warmth or strength as the lightning did, nor the explosive energy of gravity. It was nothing. It was pure, unrelenting emptiness—but it was mine.

After a short rest, I dragged myself to the training room. My body ached from the sheer force of the awakening, but I couldn't rest for long—not now. Today, my true training began.

I started by experimenting with my gravity magic, placing weights on my limbs and manipulating their weight with the gravity element. I felt the pull of the weights, the crushing pressure of the earth against me. But I had a plan—today, I would test my endurance by combining my gravity magic with the lightning element.

With my body weighed down by gravity, I began circulating the lightning energy through my veins. The two elements mixed within me, creating a deep burn in my muscles as the lightning coursed alongside the crushing weight. My legs felt like they were on fire, but I pushed through, running in short bursts, testing my limits.

It was an excruciating process, but I refused to stop. I continued to circulate the two elements, my mana draining rapidly as both gravity and lightning worked against me. The weight of my own body became unbearable, and yet I didn't slow down. I could feel my mana running low, my energy dwindling as I neared the point of exhaustion.

By the time I collapsed onto the floor, gasping for breath, I was teetering on the edge of mana deficiency. It had been a close call. My body had endured far more than I expected, and I realized just how dangerous it was to push myself too hard at this stage.

Lily quickly arrived to heal me, her gentle magic mending my worn muscles and easing my mana flow. She looked at me with concern, but I only smiled weakly, nodding my thanks before I made my way back to my room.

When I arrived, my mother was waiting for me, her calm, loving gaze softening the tension in my muscles. The smell of food filled the air, and I could already feel my body demanding sustenance after the rigorous training.

"How was your training today?" she asked, her voice warm but curious.

"It went well," I replied, my voice a little hoarse. "I gained a lot today."

"What have you gained?" she asked, looking at me with a smile.

I took a deep breath. "I awakened my mana core."

Her eyes widened in surprise, her lips parting as if she were about to speak. "Wait, you did what?" she asked, her tone a mixture of disbelief and excitement.

I nodded, feeling a sense of pride. "I awakened my mana core today."

Her gaze turned cool for a moment, as if she were measuring my sincerity. "You're not lying to me, are you?" she asked, her voice low and serious.

"N-no," I stammered, my heart pounding. "I swear it. I awakened my mana core."

She blinked and then let out a soft laugh, shaking her head. "Of course, you wouldn't lie to your mother." Her expression softened, and she smiled. "What was I thinking? So, what is your element?"

"I awakened lightning, gravity, and void," I said, almost in disbelief myself.

Her expression shifted again, brows furrowing in thought. "Are you sure that's all?"

I nodded. "Yes, that's all of them."

She sighed, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "Hmm, that's strange. You should have the fire element too, but... well, it's not guaranteed."

Her smile returned. "Since you've awakened so early, you deserve a reward. How about we get you a sword tomorrow?"

I blinked, stunned by the offer. "I'd love that, Mom."
