Chapter 95: I'm Not A Fan Of Torture
'Damn! I fell on a treasure!'
[Free food! Hahahaha!]
After going down, I found myself in a luxurious white room.
It had a bed, a fridge, a cooker, a toilet, a shower, a table with 2 chairs, and a lamp.
But what captured my attention were other things.
The entire room, from the walls to the ceiling and floor, were covered in runes which were probably what kept it hidden.
In the middle of the room, there was a big chest filled with mana crystals. There were few of them on the floor inside some rune circles. The crystals were turning into ashes slowly as the runes kept absorbing their energy. Lynn probably had to change them regularly.
The last thing was a liquid cell that seemed to be from alien technology. It was powered with a strange type of crystals and filled with strange liquid. Inside the liquid, there was…
My eyes widened as my lips curled into a wide grin.
'Fuck yeah! I hit the jackpot!'
It was a demon. A real living demon in slumber.
With black skin, black hair, and black eyes, 2 horns rose from the sides of his head, showing his real race as a demon.
I began to thank inwardly. 'For whoever wrote that novel, thank you for your gift.'
Thanks to the novel being written in third pov, there was a small scene that was supposed to increase the tension.
Lynn, the normal inn manager, would suddenly open a hidden path in her inn that would lead to an underground room.
There, she would awaken Drax from his slumber and show him the first-year ranking of each profession, with photos of some prioritized targets.
Of course, they were the main cast: Arthur, Elara, Liora, Zephyr, Morgana, and a girl called Thalia.
However, it seemed they replaced Drax with another demon after his death in the land of challenges.
Still, he was completely powerless in his current state. This was a great win!
The next moment, I scanned the entire room, searching for anything hidden, but there was nothing.
'Well, it's time for my real job.'
I grabbed Lynn from the floor, put her on a chair, took off all her clothes, and tied her on the chair with cold chains before heating the chair legs slightly to make them stick to the ground.
Then it was the time for the hardest part.
I summoned BlackHail and put it on my back to accelerate my thinking, then I enhanced my body with lightning for even more speed.
After that, I took a few minerals out of my storage.
They looked like just small colorful minerals. I took them one by one, channeled a little from my aether into them, then moved to the next.
The minerals that I infused with aether began to tremble in the ground, their shape shifting, until they turned into small mechanical parts.
'Glad they didn't notice them when I was scanned.'
I began to put those parts together with extreme caution, because any small mistake would make them explode.
After 20 minutes, they formed what seemed to be a small mechanical cockroach.
I let out a breath I was holding — even though I didn't need breathing — as I grabbed Lynn's right hand. I was aiming at only one thing.
Her bracelet.
I put the metallic cockroach on the bracelet, and instantly, its legs held it firmly, then the bracelet got opened, releasing Lynn's hand without troubles.
Finally, a smile tugged at my face, but with it, came some frustration and disappointment.
One of the troubles anyone would encounter when they try to kill in this world was the bracelets. If the bracelet holder died, the bracelet would know and send a help signal with the location of the holder.
Breaking the bracelet wasn't an option. It would lead to the same result.
Thus, I had to find a machine in the black market that could remove the bracelet without causing any troubles.
Fortunately, it worked!
But unfortunately… It worked.
If I, a man that had found out about black market by coincidence, was able to find a machine that had the ability to remove the bracelets and found a way to enter the academy with it….
Then how many people did that already?
Once again, I was reminded about how dangerous this academy truly was. Now that I had no more information from the novel, I had to walk on this academy cautiously as if I was walking on thin ice.
I put Lynn's bracelet away, then my eyes landed on her. I had to get as much information as I could from her.
I really, really wanted to just tell a trusted adult about this hidden place and go train or something, but unfortunately, I didn't know such a person.
If I was unlucky, a spy would know about me and mark me as their target. If I was even more unlucky, I may involve Aria.
All emotions faded away from my face as a mask covered my face. "Glutton, come on my shoulder in your tentacle form."
[Sir yes sir!]
Glutton stood — or maybe sat — on my shoulder immediately. He was now a little larger and had 11 tentacles instead of 10.
I put my finger on Lynn's head, then a pulse of purple lightning entered her body.
"Ah!" She regained her consciousness immediately as she started to scan her surroundings.
I watched her silently as she recognised the room she was in and her current state. Her face paled and her body began to shake aggressively. "How…"
"Tell me, do you understand your current situation?" I asked, my voice deep and cold.
"Who-who are—!" She stopped talking when her eyes landed on Glutton.
She turned her head and began to scream from the depths of her lungs, her voice sharp and scratching, reflecting her panicked state.
Glutton extended one of his tentacles and placed it on her head. Immediately, she began to vomit as her shaking became more intense.
[I feel offended…]
'Maybe I overestimated her mentality and willpower. Turn into a raven for now.'
[Haa… okay.]
The metallic chains were scratching her body because of her aggressive movements, but I ignored that and moved to the table.
I placed on the table some needles, a curved dagger with a thin blade, a bottle that contained black liquid, and finally, a healing potion for emergencies.
I sat on the second chair and began to tap the table.
"Tap! Tap!"
Lynn shifted her gaze toward me, her breath heavy and her teeth shaking.
Without raising my voice, I said coldly: "You are caught hiding a demon under your inn. Denying that won't help you in your current situation."
As she looked at the liquid cell, the color drained from her face and tears began to flow out of her eyes like a river.
"I hope you coordinate with me, Ms.Lynn."
"I'm not… a fan of torture."
