Chapter 111: The Best Stalker
[Aria's Pov]
"You should apologize."
"No…"
"You are just paranoid."
"I'm not."
"Go and apologize."
"NO!"
I took the pillow under my head and threw it at Lilith, but she quickly turned into a shadow and dodged it.
Lilith, with her pitch black hair and black eyes, looked at me with expressionless face and spoke.
"You know he will have to kill demons eventually, right? Unless the war ends peacefully."
"I know!" I threw another pillow at her. "But I don't want him to see killing as something for fun!"
Lilith sighed. "What if he has some fun? So long as he doesn't kill someone innocent then what's the problem."
"...."
"Humph, you won't understand." Using a hand of wind, I took the pillow from the ground and buried my head under it.
She wouldn't understand my feelings after seeing my cute little brother acting like that. I was watching in horror the person I loved the most covered in blood while laughing crazily!
I remembered clearly what doctor Braham told me about his bloodlust. To see him like this after leaving him for only 3 years, I felt like… I disappointed my mother and grandmother.
I saw the signs and had warnings, yet I failed as his sister…
"Are you perhaps afraid that he will risk his life and seek revenge?" Lilith suddenly asked with her expressionless face.
"Yes, and something worse…" I spoke under the pillow, guilt visible in my voice. "What if they decided to go to him themselves? What if they tried to recruit him after seeing his performance and he refused?"
I clenched my fists. "If they found an opportunity to speak with him secretly, wouldn't they also have the ability to… kill him?"
"Isn't that the same for me?" Lilith tilted her head. "I have the Darkness affinity and I'm talented. I'm probably a recruit target too. And you should be more scared of them approaching the prince instead of your brother — He is the real crazy guy here."
"...."
I thought seriously about what she said, and maybe she was right.
'I'm becoming too paranoid…'
Well, It wasn't like the Dark Order's spies could move freely in Elyndra anyway. This was the most secure place in this world after all.
Even when they tried to attack the banquet, the principal caught them easily with only the help of the vampires to detect them.
I saw only 2 big incidents since I entered this academy. It wasn't something common. I shouldn't keep expecting only the worse.
Additionally, there were many potential targets like the Penguin Emperor from the second year and all the darkness users. Ray wasn't that crazy compared to them.
Maybe I was really too paranoid because of only 2 incidents.
"Fine." I muttered under my breath. "I'll apologize to him later… and make some potions for him as an apology."
Lilith turned into a shadow and came beside me before forcing her lips to curl into a smile.
"I'm sure he was like this because it was just a friendly fight. Trust me, he won't act the same way when it comes to real killing."
I nodded to her. I was still having nightmares about my first kill until now despite all my preparations back then.
My cute little brother may be just a battle maniac. He would never be someone that would be excited to kill.

[Raylin's Pov]
'Finally! Now, we can try to make an opportunity to kill that little prey! Hehehe — HAHAHA!'
[You aren't sane I'm telling you!]
'Do you know how long I was waiting to finally start observing him secretly? Glutton, you are the best stalker!'
[.... I feel offended.]
With my body still sleeping, I used Glutton's eyes to observe one of our targets who was now in an inn.
He was a beastman, the same beastman that we met on each test. He was also one of those who met Lynn in the night area.
Currently, Glutton was following him invisibly in the shape of an ant.
After eating the corpses, the mana cores and drinking the mana potion — which was surprisingly too effective — He grew up and got more abilities.
First, his shape-shifting improved significantly so that he could now be as small as an ant. Unfortunately, it's the big type of ants, but it was still an improvement.
Second, It was the senses sharing. I could share his senses by will anytime, but unfortunately, my body would sleep the moment I used it.
Third, I felt instinctively that my space talent improved slightly. That was probably because he was a cosmic spirit. Maybe I got a type of feedback.
Additionally, his physical power could now be compared to a Tier 2 cultivator. I'd need to fight him later to see his real power.
"Mia, did you think about my offer? Not many people would pay you this much for a night."
All of a sudden, the beastman grabbed the hand of the inn's waitress and whispered to her.
The waitress' cheeks and ears turned red instantly. Hesitation and embarrassment plastered over her before getting replaced with a determined look.
"I appreciate your offer, Mr. Taigo, but I have to refuse. I'm not that desperate for coins."
She then put a cup of beer on Taigo's table, but as she was ready to leave, he spoke again.
"Not too desperate — but here you are, working everyday at a different Exalted or Cultivator as a slave and barely getting paid while they earn thousands. You won't get enough to awaken your core this way."
Mia gritted her teeth as she looked at Taigo with disgust and hissed: "At least I'm just a servant, not a sex slave!"
Seeing the waitress leaving angrily, Taigo clicked his tongue as he held the beer cup. "Tsk, what a waste for a nice ass."
'A female servant with a dormant mana core and he wants a night with her. Looks familiar, right?'
Glutton nodded. [He is probably trying to recruit more people. And he is a fucking pervert!]
As Taigo finished his drink, he quickly stood up and walked to a room in the inn. Once he closed the door, I ordered Glutton to return.
[Why? We made the invisibility technique just for this!]
'It isn't perfect yet. Selene could easily notice me so he may also notice you if you were alone with him. Don't risk your life for that.'
I sighed inwardly. 'That's good for today. We will keep observing him from now on every night and see his routine. Eventually, we will find our opportunity.'
As my consciousness returned to my body, a smirk tugged at my face.
'And I'll need to buy some poisons.'
