Chapter 106: See? Killing isn't that hard
[Limitless's Pov]
'The hell is wrong with this girl!'
I stared in horror at the bed where a beautiful girl was sleeping peacefully.
She was Nyxis, a beautiful girl with long pitch black hair wearing a black blindfold. She was wearing a black nightdress and held a beautiful, soft smile on her face.
Naturally, I would have called this scene breathtaking. I would have blushed or turned my head away before sleeping on the ground to not disturb her.
But there was a problem.
She was hugging her soul-bound sword like a pillow, using both arms and legs.
That sword was UNSHEATHED!
The sharp blade was already piercing her soft skin and cutting her flesh, yet there was no blood and she was sleeping unbothered.
I just checked out my new store, and when I went to check my new home, I found this shit!
'I-Is she dead?!'
Activating my eyes' ability, I focused on her body.
I could see the aether flowing naturally through her body. She was definitely alive.
I began to sweat heavily as I hesitated regarding my next move.
Should I ignore her or wake her up? That was really a problem.
I took a deep breath as I made up my mind.
"N-Nyxis."
The moment I called her name, she sat straight in her bed instantly. She was still hugging her sword as she tilted head and stared at me silently.
I gulped nervously. "I'm your roommate, Limitless. Y-Your sword… doesn't it hurt you? Is that an ability?"
Nyxis' head turned at the sword and the cuts in her body, then turned to me calmly. "It hurts. I'm used to it."
"...."
My mouth opened and closed, but no words came out.
Nyxis returned to her former position with the sword cutting deep in her flesh.
'Is she a masochist?'
I gritted my teeth and extended my hand toward the sword. I wasn't going to let my first roommate hurt herself!
But the moment I touched the sword hilt—
*Tsss!*
"Ouch."
The hilt burned my skin instantly as I pulled my hand back. Focusing on my hand, I noticed that some of my flesh was even decaying!
"Crap!" With my other hand, I drew a light rune in the air using my mana, making a healing light that made my hand regenerate.
"What are you doing?" Nyxis asked in confusion.
I ignored her as I drew ice and crystal runes in my hand. Instantly, a thick layer of crystallized ice covered my entire arm.
I extended my hand to the sword again and began to pull it away from that masochist girl!
She was still gripping the blade firmly!
"Leave it!" I said while pulling the sword harder.
"No." Black flames began to dance around Nyxis' hands.
Using my will, I pulled the intense mana in the air and made it draw a small rune.
A small lightning strike stunned her hands for a brief moment. Seizing the opportunity, I took the sword away and drew a healing light aiming at her body.
Nyxis tilted her head at my actions, then extended her hand and opened fist. "Give it to me."
I stood firmly. "No."
Nyxis lowered her hand. "I can dismiss and resummon the sword."
I smirked. "And I can do the same again."
She tilted her head. "Why do you care?"
Confused, I said: "Do I, the genius Limitless, need a reason to stop you from hurting yourself?"
Nyxis' ring gleamed for a moment, then a longsword materialized in her hand.
She looked at me for a long moment before hugging her new sword again and returning to sleep.
"...."
I took a deep breath as I prepared for the second round.
'I fixed damaged artifacts in worse conditions. I can definitely fix her!'

[Raylin's Pov]
"Selene, wake up. The breakfast is ready."
"Mhhm…"
I woke Selene up before placing a plate on her lap.
It contained a simple breakfast. It was just pancakes and strawberry milk. Well, except that they were blue and glowing slightly.
With sleepy eyes and a fork, Selene took the first bite of the pancake. Her eyes lit up in surprise as she ate the pancake quickly and drank the strawberry milk.
"I-It's great!" Selene said as she shamelessly took Glutton's plate.
"Kaka!"
[Hey!]
I watched in satisfaction as they fought over the food.
I used Tier-2 ingredients to make them, so they should taste great and increase the muscles' comfort.
I clapped. "If you are done, prepare yourself. It's already morning."
I smirk tugged at my face. "I took a mission already. It's time to hunt."
I decided to keep the mission's details as a 'surprise' for her.
And of course, Selene would do most of the work.
I personally chose a mission of killing humanoid monsters just for her.

Under the soft light of the rising sun, we stood before the large forest outside the academy's wall.
In front of us, a man stood while crossing his arms. "Remember my words if you don't want to die early."
We nodded seriously. He was one of the forest guards.
He cleared his throat. "The forest is separated into 5 sections. The first section contains only monsters with Tier-1 battle power, the third section contains monsters from Tier-1 until Tier-3 and the fifth section only puts Tier-5 and Tier-4 monsters in the danger list."
His eyes turned serious. "Every 2 sections are separated by a barrier. Never go to a section you aren't ready for! Some students ignore this and die every year. There are barely any guards in the forest, so a small mistake can cause your death."
We nodded again. I wasn't planning to risk my life anyway.
"Now for the last thing." He paused dramatically before continuing: "There are many dungeons inside forming everyday. The dungeons aren't explored and unpredictable, so I recommend waiting for the dungeons lecture before doing anything reckless if you value your lives."
The next moment, he moved to the side, leaving a way for us to pass.
I turned my head to Selene as I opened a map. "Ready?"
"Mhm!"
The next moment, we took our first steps into the forest.
In an instant, I felt, saw, heard and smelled many monsters around us.
'Hey, Glutton.'
[Hmm?]
'Release your pressure of fear. And don't let it touch Selene.'
As I finished talking, both of us released our pressure.
The monsters in our range either ran away or passed out from fear. Some weak ones even died by heart attacks.
[Can I eat them?]
'It's a waste of time. I still need to see my store after this.'
[Tsk, it's a waste of food.]
As we kept moving for a long time, no monster dared to approach us.
Eventually, we reached a huge barrier that reached the sky, separating 2 sections in the forest from each other and blocking some of my senses.
The Tier-1 monsters can go forward, but the Tier-2 monsters can't go backward. That was simply how the barrier worked.
"Stay cautious from here." I said as I simply passed through the barrier. "Not all the monsters are going to run now."
"Yes." Selene nodded as her great sword materialized in her hand.
The moment she moved to the other side of the barrier—
"GRRRRRR!"
We got surrounded by a bunch of wolves.
Standing on 2 legs with red fur covering their bodies, their orange eyes looked at us hungrily with their sharp, long claws covered in fire.
They were afraid, but their hunger and Tier-2 aura cores allowed them to ignore their instinct of running away.
One of them lunged at me, ready to swing its flaming claws, but instantly, it was severed cleanly into pieces before it could scream. The other wolves looked in confusion at their friend that died without anything touching it.
I focused on its red blood and thought: 'It can work as a start, its blood looks humanoid enough.'
My eyes fell into Selene who was looking at the wolf in daze. "I think they are good as a warm-up — What do you think? Like the chicken you fought earlier but in human size, right?."
Selene left her daze and spoke nervously. "Y-yes."
I nodded. "I'll pull them toward you to kill them."
"W-what—!"
Instantly, I used gravity to throw one of the wolves toward Selene.
She froze in her place for a moment before dismissing her sword, catching the wolf from its neck and smashing it in the ground.
The wolf struggled under her draconic force, trying to cut her to free itself, but its claws couldn't even scratch her skin.
"What are you waiting for?" I appeared behind her. "Kill it."
Selene looked at the wolf in hesitation.
I sighed as I turned her head toward the wolf's eyes and calmly said: "Look at its eyes. It doesn't see you as a living being, but food, something to kill and eat. You think it deserves your hesitation? Are you perhaps afraid of killing a living creature? Because this time, it isn't an illusion?"
Selene shook her head. "It's not our mission. Can't we just… leave it?"
I chuckled in response. "It's just a wolf! A beast. A monster. This creature doesn't deserve such a thing like mercy."
Another wolf lunged at us, but this time, I waited for it to come closer before cutting it into pieces, making its hot blood spill on us.
I smiled. "See? It tried to kill me, so I killed it. It's that simple." I raised a finger. "Additionally, what do you think might happen if we leave it now?"
Selene tilted her head, her eyes slightly wide from the blood.
"We are strong enough to overwhelm those wolves, but what if another weak student, someone innocent that ignored the dangers, ended up in our situation?"
My smile widened as I saw the hesitation in her eyes vanishing. "This wolf would kill them. Because of your mercy for an unworthy, they would die. If you don't want that to happen, then kill it!"
"Or do you want to know that someone died because of your hesitation?"
The wolf seemed panicked, seeing its neck suddenly turning into pure ice.
The hesitation in Selene's eyes vanished completely as she clenched her small fist.
*CRACK!*
With its head separate from its body, the wolf stopped struggling.
Smiling proudly, I patted her shoulder that was trembling slightly.
"See?" I said, cutting all the remaining wolves into a mess of flesh and blood. "Killing isn't that hard."
