Reincarnated in the Royal Family with a Plunder System

Chapter 17 summary

Reborn in Mugen: The Rise of the Plunder Sucker

Rain lashed against the truck's windows as Max, drunk for the first time, boasted about his non-existent driving skills. Thunder roared, and a lightning bolt struck a nearby power pole, sending a live wire crashing into the truck. Agony seared through him, his body convulsing before darkness swallowed him whole. Was I hit by lightning? he thought, excitement oddly eclipsing fear. As an internet addict, he'd read about such phenomena, but this felt different—transcendent.

A pink holographic screen flickered into existence: [The Shard of Infinity has chosen you as its vessel.] Max blinked, disoriented. Dead? Alive? He didn't know. The screen declared he'd bound the Shard, now an RPG-like system tailored to his tastes. It offered a choice: a Class to define his new existence in an unknown world. Human Classes like Mage, Martial Artist, Healer, or Beast Tamer were familiar but uninspiring. Fiend Classes, however, piqued his curiosity—Milf Manic, Goblin, Blood Kin Copier, Hate Joker, Plunder Sucker, and 10X Milk Man. Each promised unique powers, but Plunder Sucker stood out: the ability to steal skills, vitality, luck, and dominance from others. No grind, no limits—just pure, taken power. "I choose Plunder Sucker!" he declared, and a surge of primal hunger awakened within him.

Max opened his eyes in a regal bedroom, chandeliers casting a soft glow. He was no longer Max but Ryan Armedius, a prince of the Mugen Continent's powerful Armedius family. Memories flooded in—not just Ryan's, but his own, fused into this new body. Ryan was a disappointment, a talentless noble mocked for his weakness in a world of Mages, Martial Artists, Healers, and Beast Tamers. Yet, the Shard of Infinity had changed everything. A throbbing pain and blood on his fingers revealed an assassination attempt—a blow to the head that should've killed him. The Shard must have saved him, merging Max's soul with Ryan's.

Ryan shattered a vase to summon his maid, Kaelith, a freckled girl who rushed to his side in a nightshift, frantic at his bloodied state. "Your Highness!" she gasped, pressing the wound. Suspecting a deliberate attack, Ryan refused to alert the guards and instead demanded secrecy. With Kaelith's help, he staggered to his mother, Lysandra, a renowned Healer and the kingdom's Saintess. Her violet eyes softened as she mended his wound with glowing hands, but her calm hid a storm of bloodlust. Someone had dared target her son.

Lysandra named three suspects: Duke Vermillion, whose daughter's rejected betrothal gave him motive; Lady Eleanor, the king's cunning concubine who was also the ruler in the shadows; and House Dainforth, insulted by Ryan's mocking refusal of their daughter. Each played the noble game of borrowed blades, leaving no evidence. Ryan's survival was an anomaly they hadn't planned for. "I need to grow stronger," he vowed, biting Lysandra's thigh in defiance when she suggested political power over physical might. She assigned Barbezz, a Rune 30 Mage butler, to guard him, but Ryan had other plans.

Slipping through a hidden passage, Ryan reached the capital's slave market, its stench of sweat and rust a stark contrast to the palace's opulence. In Mugen, slavery was a survival tactic, not a taboo—goblins and humans sold for labor or combat. At the Gilded Chain, an elite market, Ryan sought slaves with skills to plunder. A trader offered a troublesome slave with an Appraisal skill for two gold coins. Despite the man's unsettling nature, Ryan endured thirty awkward minutes of contact to steal the skill, which revealed basic information about targets. Next, he bought a malnourished goblinette for one gold, moved by pity for her plight. Draping her in silk, he promised her food, her yellow eyes wide with terror and gratitude.

Back at the palace, Ryan's Appraisal skill revealed the goblinette's passive abilities: Goblin's Instinct, Night Vision, and Rapid Evolution, doubling experience from kills. Kaelith, trailing him, questioned the goblinette's presence, her jealousy softening as Ryan held her hand. Their moment was interrupted by Lady Eleanor, a suspect in the assassination. Her sharp blue eyes twinkled as Ryan boldly kissed her hand, probing for clues. "Rumors of an assassination," she teased, claiming maids' gossip. Ryan kissed her lips, activating Appraisal, but her high level obscured details. Eleanor's subtle threat—"Good luck you survived"—and a scratch on his cheek confirmed her involvement. Lysandra, furious, healed him but twisted his ear for his recklessness.

Wandering the palace, Ryan marveled at its scale—a city within walls, alive with nobles and servants. Most ignored him, whispering "Seraphina's twin brother," his prodigy sister's shadow. Appraisal showed nobles as Mages, Martial Artists, or rare Beast Tamers, but Healers were scarce. Over a feast of magical fried chicken, Kaelith's pout about the goblinette prompted Ryan to lean in for a kiss. She surprised him with a deliberate, lingering kiss—his first true one. Barbezz's interruption soured the moment, but the goblinette's voracious eating amused Ryan.

That night, Ryan slipped through another hidden passage to Seraphina's chambers, summoned cryptically about the assassination. Her red hair and silver eyes gleamed in the storm's lightning. Bruised and bloodied, she revealed a Divine Investigator traced the attack to a Beast Tamer's owl familiar, which phased through walls. Insider sabotage had bypassed palace defenses. Seraphina, raw with fear, admitted feeling Ryan's near-death as twins, a bond intensified by her magic. "I don't want to feel that again," she hissed, pulling him close.

In a hidden room, Seraphina presented the captured assassin—a tortured Rune 18 Beast Tamer—and his owl. "Kill him," she urged, pressing a blade into Ryan's hand. He hesitated, humanizing the broken man, but Seraphina's revelation that the assassin targeted her first, with vile intentions, steeled him. Yet, Ryan delayed, wanting to plunder the assassin's skills first. Back in her chamber, he revealed his Plunder Sucker Class to Seraphina, demonstrating Vitality Theft and Apex Predator. Her shock turned to tears—she'd always blamed herself for Ryan's incomplete soul, believing she'd stolen it in the womb, fueling her dual Classes. They fell asleep in each other's arms, her sobs easing into peace.

Morning brought clarity. Over coffee, Ryan detailed the Shard of Infinity and his Fiend Class, disappointing Seraphina for not choosing 10X Milk Man to bond with her strength. His plundered Appraisal skill impressed her, and she realized the assassin was a skill trove. "Leveling up won't be hard," she promised, plotting to mentor him. Ryan teased her, fleeing to his room for a bath, images of Kaelith stirring him.

In his bedroom, Kaelith slept, her freckled face serene. Ryan kissed her lips, sliding beside her under the blankets. His touch wandered, igniting a clumsy, passionate exploration. Kaelith, shy but yielding, welcomed his fingers, then more, as they lost their virginity in a whirlwind of awkward intimacy. Guilty yet exhilarated, they lay together, adults at last.

Ryan awoke from a nap, overwhelmed by emotions as he lay under blankets with Kaelith's naked body pressed against his. Her warmth, her familiar scent, stirred a surreal mix of love and disbelief. This was Kaelith—his childhood sweetheart, the maid who'd seen him at his worst, now his lover. Their earlier clumsy intimacy had bound them closer, and as she stirred, her amber eyes lazy with comfort, Ryan teased her about their passionate night. Blushing, Kaelith denied moaning, playfully accusing him of nibbling her ears. Their banter escalated into kisses, each blaming the other for the impromptu encounter—she for sleeping in his bed, he for misreading her presence. When Kaelith curiously asked about pregnancy, citing her Martial Artist fertility, Ryan deflected with a squeeze, sparking more teasing about her sensitive nipples. A knock from Seraphina interrupted, sending a flustered Kaelith scrambling to the bathroom, promising Ryan a "lick or two" later. Ryan, amused, faced his impatient sister, her shouts barely masking her calculated patience.

Seraphina, clutching a scroll with Ryan's training plan, had been busy tying up loose ends. She'd ventured to the slave market, discreetly eliminating the slave Ryan plundered the Appraisal skill from and the trader who sold him the goblinette. These were risks—someone might notice the slave's missing skill and link it to Ryan's odd behavior, exposing his Plunder Sucker Class. Seraphina's foresight protected his secret, a burden she kept from him. Noticing a woman's scent on Ryan, she probed, sensing his discomfort.

Their mutual suspicion erupted—"You're hiding something!"—but they dropped it, wary of palace eavesdroppers. In her room, Seraphina led Ryan through a mirror to the assassin's cell, revealing a new captive: a level 1 cheetah, bred as a familiar to remain low-level. Ryan attempted to plunder the assassin's skill but failed due to the level gap. Turning to the cheetah, he successfully absorbed its Speed Burst skill after thirty minutes, an exhilarating rush confirming his growing power. Seraphina's strategic resources and ruthless pragmatism set the stage for Ryan's ascent, while their sibling bond deepened amidst secrets and shared ambition.

Ryan stood at a crossroads.

The Shard of Infinity, a fragment of a greater power, demanded he find its eight counterparts. Yet, he was not ready for grand quests. He did not believe in himself.

Enemies like Eleanor loomed, their schemes deadly.

And all throughout the thick and thin,

With Kaelith's loyalty, Seraphina's guidance, and his Plunder Sucker abilities,

Ryan vowed to rise—not as a weak prince, but a force to rival Mugen's mightiest.

The storm outside the palace at that time mirrored his resolve: chaotic, beautiful, and...

Strong.
