( Yuuki's POV )

Shera and I were watching Castle Morne from above as if we were about to storm the place, I wanted to return with the girls with me to introduce them to Akane and the other normal kids as party members I met on my journey, not a super convincing explanation but it wasn't important.

The white-haired girl was lying against Grimm, whose soft fur made for an excellent pillow, and we were waiting for Astraea to appear, she sent a mental message that she had finished her search for ingredients, and while she was busy with that, Takao told me what happened in the castle while he was away.

Except for the girl Yuri, everyone was taking the situation well, Sora even asked Edgar to train him, It seems that this world had an influence on his body because he could handle a halberd in a way that no normal child of his age could, I think his competitive nature was driving him this time.

Astraea: Master, I'm back~

While I was thinking about possible future annoyances, Astraea appeared, she was flying carrying a huge fishing net with some giant crabs, as she promised there was enough for a feast of boiled crabs.

Upon returning to the castle, I went to take care of the food and let the girls introduce themselves to the others, after that, I went to the room where the white-haired girl was resting.

She was already healed, but she hadn't woken up, I was sitting next to her bed, but I couldn't stay long, I had to go out there again.

I was about to get up when Hajime came into the room with a big plate of boiled crabs.

Hajime: Hey, the girl hasn't woken up yet?

Yuuki: No, but at least she's not in danger anymore, but what about you, how are you holding on? I'm sorry that I had to drag you into this.

Hajime: I'm fine, you don't have to apologize, the truth is I wish I could do something to help you.

Yuuki: You already help me enough with other things, I'll take us back home soon, you don't have to stress about that, although there is a favor you could do me.

Yuuki: Can you take care of that girl, Yuri, for me?

Hajime: Mmmm, I can try to help her, but I don't know if anything I say will help her.

With that, Hajime left the room, and I took one last look at the girl before I did the same.

I resumed my exploration and teleported to the site of grace, in another abandoned church and this time I was alone, when I was exploring with Shera I felt a presence watching me, and I came alone to try to attract that presence again and soon that was what happened, I couldn't tell if it was an enemy or a friendly so I looked around discreetly but I couldn't find it.

I knew someone was nearby, so I activated my dragon eyes and looked again, the presence had no physical body, but with my dragon eyes, I could see a hooded figure in the corner of my eye.

Yuuki: You know it's rude to stare at someone without even introducing yourself.

???: My apologies, traveler from beyond the fog, one can't be too cautious around these parts.

When I addressed the mysterious figure, it responded with a female voice, the person then sat next to me and removed her hood to reveal a brown-haired woman with one of her eyes permanently closed and with a strange mark around said eye.

Yuuki: I guess you're right, but that's not all is it.

???: It's not, my name is Melina, and I've been watching you in hopes of forming a partnership with you.

Yuuki: To do what?

???: You just need to take me to the foot of the Erdtree, I am in the belief that you are interested in the Erdtree as well, and for my part, I can provide support, Have you heard of the finger maidens?

Yuuki: I can't say I have.

Melina: I can transform the runes you have collected into power, I can show you, just give me your hand and let mine rest upon it.

I was tempted by the idea of a stronger body that could withstand my powers and I reached out my hand to her, she hooked her fingers with mine and the particles of light that came out of the enemies that I defeated, which were called runes, were concentrated at the junction between our fingers and that radiated power, but as they came together that suddenly exploded and particles of light fell around us.

Melina stared at our hands with her eyes half closed, not understanding what had happened, but I wasn't that lost, the power I felt was very similar to what I felt when I gave a blessing to an object, these runes must be small fragments of divine power.

Melina's job was something like an intermediary to activate that blessing or something like that, She couldn't help me so I decided to try something myself, I called all the runes I had collected into the palm of my hand and this process ended up calling out runes that were scattered in the air as well, and when I was done with that I had in my hand a small glass prism with a light in the middle.

Next to me, Melina was giving me a look of disbelief, I miss it when people look at me like that.
