( Yuuki's POV )

The next day I sneaked into the military leader's office to chat with him before we headed back to our camp.

I sat in the chair across from his desk with my back to the door and when I heard him walk in I rotated my chair dramatically.

Yuuki: good morning Major, nice to finally meet you.

This guy had no intention of talking to me or even knowing my name so I had no intention of learning his name either, I'm just going to call him Major.

When he saw me sitting in his office he immediately reached for his sidearm but his holster was empty, the moment he opened the door I stopped time and stole his gun.

Yuuki: There's no need to be so jumpy, I just want to talk but you're the one who refuses to pay attention to me.

The older man tried to keep a neutral expression but I saw that he was confused by this situation because he must be sure that he did not forget his gun.

Mayor: uhm we are in a state of emergency, I have no time to waste with a child like you.

Yuuki: but still you want to take everything that belongs to that "child".

Mayor: even a child like you should know that what I do is for the future of our country.

Yuuki: Your only motivation is your own interests and even if it wasn't, that wouldn't change anything.

I rose from the chair and pointed my fist forward, as I opened my hand the bloody rank insignia of the soldiers who tried to assault Shizuka fell on his desk, That I had soaked myself for added effect.

Yuuki: I won't let anything or anyone hurt the people I love, so think twice before doing something stupid.

I gave the major a murderous look and without waiting for an answer from him I teleported out of the military base where the survivors who were unhappy with this place were boarding one of our trucks that I had called the night before.

They didn't have much more than the clothes on their backs and the soldiers didn't do anything to prevent them from leaving either so we had no problem leaving the military base.

Once back in our camp, I called the other leaders to tell them what happened at the military base and while I was walking towards the MBI building, Stella questioned me about what happened between me and the major.

Stella: So you think he'll listen to your warning?

Yuuki: not a chance, I'm sure he'll come here, probably not immediately but he won't be long.

Stella: uh-huh And what will you do when that happens?

Yuuki: well I guess he'll start making stupid demands, so I guess it'll depend if I'm in a good mood that day, but the other soldiers aren't to blame for having a stupid leader so I won't be hard on them if that's what you're asking about?

Stella shook her head and she took my hand with a warm smile.

Stella: I trust you... But you can be a little blindsided when your family is involved.

Yuuki: I know how to control myself, I mean sometimes.

In the meeting with the other leaders, some precautionary measures were decided and we all returned to work on improving the camp but before I could return to my underground lab to build more Wanzers Tsukiumi called me to the training room.

When I arrived, the scene that awaited me was somewhat strange, in the middle of the floor Tsukiumi was pointing her katana at a girl I didn't know, she was covered in cuts and it was obvious they had been fighting.

Tsukiumi: oh Yuuki, you came just in time.

Yuuki: yeah... And what is this exactly?

Tsukiumi explained to me that this girl was one of the ones we rescued along with Rizu, after I left for the military base with Rika, Tsukiumi saw that girl taking the interview to join our army.

Tsukiumi apparently saw something special in her and personally decided to take her under her wing, Tsukiumi had been giving her a crash course ever since, well it was more accurate to say that that girl had been taking a lot of punishment from Tsukiumi for a whole day and now she wants my help training the girl, who doesn't talk much and Tsukiumi doesn't even know what her name is, she obviously asked but the girl didn't want to answer.

Yuuki: so you want to test what you have learned with me?

I turned around to get a better look at the girl Tsukiumi was training, she had long, disheveled blonde hair and piercing red eyes.

The girl looked at me silently and after a few seconds she nodded firmly, Since she didn't want to or maybe she wanted to distance herself from her old name, I decided to call her Ruby because of her eyes.

Ruby stood up ready to fight but before starting I made some preparations, First I healed all her wounds and then I took out the booster shot that I kept losing the opportunity to test, I injected myself completely confident in the quality of my creation.

My body began to heat up and my heart beat at a mile a minute, I activated my kaguns and they tangled around my body as if I were wearing a tight suit, my kagune move to my head but even though I was completely covered I could see perfectly, It was a strange feeling but when the transformation finally ended I felt an intoxicating surge of power.

I created a sphere of water in front of me to see my new appearance, just like the other kakuja I've seen, I was wearing an organic armor of super-hardened RC cells, gray with purple markings on my legs and arms, my head was protected by what looked like a medieval knight's helmet with a dim purple light forming a sinister smiling face.

My main method of attack in this form seemed to be four tentacles sticking out of my lower back like tails and thick, blood-red claws at the end of my now triple-long arms that had two joints that could bend at odd angles.

Yuuki: ok show me what you got and don't worry about hurting me.

Ruby nodded once more and she raised the assault rifle that she was using as her primary weapon.
