Chapter 22: Casino Kinaho Moon
He drove back to town. Ethan saw Hood and Leonard standing next to a truck. They were both talking about something, and Hood put a ball in Leonard's hand. Ethan turned the wheel and stopped next to them.
—Chief Hood, is your friend leaving? —Ethan asked.
Leonard was holding a duffel bag in his hand, and his expression was a little sad. When he saw Ethan arrive, he quickly put a paper bag in his pocket.
—Yes, Leonard is only passing through. —Hood replied.
Hood reached out his hand, slapped Leonard on the shoulder, and moved him forward.
—I spoke to the driver. He is ready to take you to Pittsburgh. Get in the truck quickly.
Leonard nodded, threw the butt on the ground, and crushed it with his toes. Then she climbed into the passenger seat of the truck with her duffel bag. After watching the truck leave, Ethan knocked on the door with his hand down.
—Sheriff, get in the car, missed the big scene.
—No, my car is parked nearby. Let's talk about it when we return —Hood replied.
At night, after returning home after work and resting for a while, Ethan saw that it was almost time for Daria's shift to end, so he went out, got on his Dodge Challenger, and went to Miles's restaurant.
After parking the car in the parking lot, Daria said goodbye to her colleagues and left the restaurant, after not waiting long, she began to search with her eyes, Ethan rolled down the window and pressed his horn. The sound surprised her.
Daria approached in surprise and did not rush to get in the car. After looking around the car, he leaned his hands on the window.
— When did you change your car? —said with a smile.
—I bought it before traveling to San Francisco, just a few days ago —Ethan replied, patting the seat —. Go up fast.
Daria opened the car door, turned her waist, and sat down.
—My grandfather also had a car like this and many times he took me to play when I was young —said while taking off his coat.
Ethan pulled some flowers out of the back seat, which he bought from a flower shop he passed by when he arrived.
—Thanks —said taking the flowers surprised —. Where are we going now?
— Do you have a good idea? —Ethan asked. After dining at the Miles restaurant, there was no need to find another place to eat.
—It's still early, how about we go play Kinaho Moon? I have a surprise for you tonight.
Ethan became interested, so he agreed to go take a look. He had not been to the Kinaho Tribe Casino since arriving in Banshee Town, except for the incident of Demian the fighter they had arrested.
Then he turned the key and started the vehicle. As soon as the Challenger left town on the interstate, Daria became flirtatious. He looked at Ethan, who was driving seriously, with charming eyes, approached him.
—I also have something for you. —whispered, sliding a hand down his thigh —
Ethan felt his breathing speed up as he felt Daria's touch.
Daria lowered her hand with determination, unbuttoning her belt with an ability that left no room for doubt about her intentions. Ethan clenched his teeth, his body tightening as Dahlia's hand glided confidently through her crotch.
—Eh later let me know, we could have an accident you know. —murmuró.
—I know —she replied, her tone playful and daring —. It is what makes it even more exciting.
Without waiting for her answer, Daria leaned down, her hair brushing against Ethan's skin as her lips began to work on him. The pleasure shot through her body, causing Ethan to breathe a sigh, trying to stay focused on the road.
The situation was dangerous, full of adrenaline, and that only intensified the experience. Every move was precise, guided by the desire to wrest all control from Ethan, pushing him to the limit as the car ran its course through the night.
The sounds of the road were mixed with the whispers of pleasure that escaped from Ethan, caught between the danger of losing control and the urgent need to get carried away for the moment.
Accompanied by Beatles music, the Dodge Challenger swept through the night wind and headed quickly for the casino.
In the Kinaho Moon parking lot, Daria took a sip of mineral water, wiped the corners of her mouth with a tissue, then hugged Ethan's arm and walked to the casino entrance.
The doorman still had an impression of Ethan, so he quickly stepped forward to welcome them. Ethan traded chips for $ 200, with the intention of having a little fun, maybe you see some blackjack or roulette. Unexpectedly, Daria pulled out a bundle of hundred-dollar bileltes and traded them for a bunch of chips, to move to the game tables.
Players were taken back and forth in the brightly lit casino. Some were lost, while others smiled. Ethan looked around curiously, and indeed there was no watch hanging in the casino. This was done deliberately so that people forgot the concept of time and continued betting.
Also, the casino seemed to be injecting oxygen into the room, or maybe it was the stress caused by the game, but all the players inside were in a very good mood.
Ethan said he would take a look around him first, so he released Daria's hand and walked to a familiar place. After touching the chips in his hand and walking through Kino Moon, he came to a row of slot machines. According to the machine's instructions, he put the chips in the coin slot and pulled the handle.
As it was pulled from the handle, the patterns on the slot machine screen kept changing. After a burst of ding-ding-dong-dong music, Ethan's eyes trembled, he picked up the chips with a half smile, the machine would not give him another prize so it would be better to find another game.
He did not want to continue seeing how two old women were fighting over the slot machine so he went to look for his partner.
He found Dahlia in another corner. I was playing blackjack. Ethan sat next to him, and unexpectedly, it was his lucky night, at a glance you could say that he had doubled his chips quickly.
After looking bored for a while since I didn't want to ruin Daria's strategy, I look for another place, soon a burst of joyous screaming came from not far away. A circle of people gathered around a dice table. Seeing the excitement, Ethan quickly got up and walked over. Not far from the dice table, he stopped and his eyes blinked.
Leonard was standing in front of the craps table, visibly in a good mood. He was wearing a white suit, his shiny hair was tied up in a ponytail, the front buttons of the suit were well stretched, and he was holding a girl dressed flirtatiously in his arms.
Hood will be very upset when he finds out that his ex-convict friend did not leave town.— Ethan thought. Leonard had a large pile of chips in hand; it seemed to be the right time for his luck.
Ethan found a chair further away and sat against the wall. He pulled out his cell phone, texted, and then lit a cigarette. Before finishing it, Leonard's mood suddenly deteriorated, the chips he had on hand quickly decreased, and he began to argue with his partner with an unpleasant expression.
Steps were heard and Hood sat next to him.
—This friend tuyo is an interesting poco, is it a problem? —devil Ethan myentras turned off the neck of the cigarette.
Hood did not speak, just looked at Leonard with his arms crossed and a grim expression on his face.
Leonard, in the distance, had lost his cheerful appearance. As the chips in front of him grew smaller and smaller, the cheering crowd dispersed.
His partner, who was with him, showed an expression of impatience, watching Leonard make his last move.
He took off his tie, nervously blew into his hand, and threw the two dice on the game table. As the dice fell, Leonard's eyes darkened.
After the dealer stretched his long stick and took his last chips, the partner next to him also changed his expression. She lost her slender air, slightly raised her chin, waved her bag, and was about to leave.
Leonard quickly grabbed her and said:
—Hey, honey, where are you going?
Her partner said nothing, pushed her hand away, and looked at Leonard coldly, as if he were seeing a piece of trash.
Leonard, frustrated, grabbed her arm and slapped her with the back of his hand.
—Know your fox place. How dare you belittle me?
Her partner screamed in pain and fell to the ground.
Casino security had been kept alert as these kinds of desperate situations happened several times a day. Security rushed to intervene, trying to control Leonard.
Leonard raised his hand and punched the security guard trying to subdue him to the ground. Soon the situation, however, when Leonard pushed the dealer, he stretched out his hands and began to pick up the chips in his arms, while growling:
— Bastards! These are mine. I deserve them, you can't take them from me.
At that moment, security personnel scattered throughout the casino rushed to the casino, picked up Leonard, threw him heavily to the ground, covered his mouth, and dragged him into the casino.
The commotion was limited to a small area; Except for some nearby tables that were affected, the most distant people continued with what they were doing without being surprised.
After Leonard was dragged into a hallway by several members of the security personnel, the casino returned to its usual scene of happiness.
Ethan uncrossed his legs and looked at Hood with interest.
—Let's suffer a poco before taking it out -Hood shows inexpressively.
After ten or fifteen minutes, Hood got up with a cold face and walked towards the internal passage of the casino, quickly followed by Ethan.
—Jefe Hood, bienvenido a Kinaho Moon. ¿Qué puedo hacer por usted?
After speaking, he looked at Ethan and then laid his eyes on Hood.
—Alex Can we go to your office and chat? —Hood said calmly.
—Of course, no problem. Please come over here.
Alex advanced with some of his men, turned two corners, and arrived in front of his office door.
Hood winked at Ethan, who reached out to stop Alex's men.
Alex was stunned, then smiled and closed the door after Hood entered.
Not long after, Leonard was brought down by two casino security guards. Her ponytail had fallen apart and her face was bruised. When he saw Ethan, his eyes lit up.
The office door opened and Alex came out.
Leonard saw Alex and his legs trembled.
—That's a misunderstanding, Chief.
Alex grabbed him by the neck.
— Did you call me Chief? Who gave you the courage to come and cause trouble at my casino? Are you an asshole?
—I didn't mean to offend him, I'm so sorry —Leonard stuttered.
—Shut up and listen to me.
Alex continued in a threatening tone:
—If you dare to enter my Casino again, I guarantee that no one will be able to save you, not even the Banshee Police Department. This is the territory of the Kinaho Tribe. You understand?
Hearing that the other party intended to let him go, Leonard nodded quickly.
After Alex Longshadow finished speaking, Hood left the office. When Leonard saw that Hood was there, he sighed with relief and stopped shaking.
—Okay, get this crap out of my Hood casino —Alex said as he wiped his hands on Leonard's clothes, and then left with his men.
—Hey, you're not hungry.
After leaving the casino, Leonard stretched out and then continued:
—Listen, I'm really sorry about this, but I had to defend myself, you know what I mean? That bitch used me, I spent a thousand dollars that damn addict. Now I lost all the money.
As he spoke, he winked at Hood, showing an angry expression.
Hood didn't care that Ethan was still by his side and yelled quietly:
— Didn't I ask you to go to Pittsburgh? Why are you back?
Seeing Hood's inquisitive gaze, Leonard suddenly smiled. Slowly he took Hood's hand away and said in a relaxed tone:
— You know what? Why should I go there, just because you say so?
—Hey, okay, you're right. —Hood's expression changed while hugging Leonard —. Didn't you just say you were hungry? Come on, I'll take you out to eat. We will talk after you are full.
—That's right, find a better place.
Leonard, seeing Hood's nervous gaze, looked at Ethan with pride, pulled up his pants, and walked arrogantly toward Hood's car.
Hood looked at Leonard's back, took a deep breath a few times, and turned to look at Ethan.
—I'm sorry about what happened before. Leonard has always been a pain in the butt. I'll take care of him.
—It doesn't matter. Do what you have to do.
Ethan smiled, turned around, and entered the casino, as Hood led Leonard into darkness.
— Where were you, was I looking for you? —Daria had already left her seat on the gaming table when she saw Ethan. He quickly asked —: I thought you were gone.
Wow, this guy was so obsessed with playing that he had no idea what had just happened.
—Nothing, I went to the bathroom.
—Okay, let's get out of here before I lose everything.
Daria happily waved the chips in her hand. It seemed like he had won a lot tonight.
— Where are we going?
— Do you remember the surprise I told you? It's almost time, let's go back.
Ethan watched Dahlia, who was still smiling with the thrill of the game, but her mind was elsewhere. There was something dark in the air, an omen in the air. As they walked out of the casino, the chaos they had just witnessed was just the beginning, Leonard would cause Hood a lot of trouble, before it was all over. But that was his problem, it did not involve him directly.
The casino door closed behind them, and the hustle and bustle of the interior faded into a distant echo. Ethan turned to look at the bright lights of the Casino one last time.
—Come on —Ethan said in a tense voice, grabbing Daria by the arm —. Surprise can wait.
