Reincarnated As The Villainess's Son

Chapter 499: The Watchers [2]

Before he could understand, cold steel was placed on his neck.

"You want Naraka," my voice echoed within the room. "Why don't you take it now?"

Yomiel's pupils shrank as the cold blade pressed deeper into the skin of his neck.

A single drop of golden blood slid down.

"…Azrael…" Yomiel whispered, his voice suddenly very, very small.

I didn't move as I kept Naraka on his neck.

"You aren't so powerful for someone who has lived for so long," I said as I glanced at the others.

There was a silence between them, like they were gripped by unimaginable fear.

Only Samyaza had a gentle smile on his face, like he was enjoying a show.

Yomiel swallowed slowly. "Do not push—"

"The only reason you are alive right now is because your mission will help me," I cut him off immediately.

"Otherwise, I wouldn't mind killing another angel."

"Whoa, whoa." Samyaza quickly raised his hands. "Don't be too harsh on him."

I looked up at him as I felt the muscle in Yomiel's body twitch.

"Try attacking him and you will die," Daniel said in a sweet voice. "You know that, right?"

Yomiel didn't speak, while Samyaza raised his hand in defeat.

"Why don't you put the weapon down for now, Himmel," he said, keeping his calm as always. "And join us."

"...."

I didn't respond as I kept staring at the man.

No matter how much I try to understand, there is something really off about this fallen.

[<You should join in, Himmel.>]

Inna's serious voice echoed within my head.

[<Keeping track of Samyaza is also important.>]

I patted Yomiel's shoulder with Naraka. "Stand up."

He trembled with anger but stood up without complaint.

I took his seat while he walked toward the blade angel and stood by his side.

I rested Naraka across my lap, in plain sight.

Samyaza's smile only widened.

"Excellent," he said, clasping his hands together. "Now, shall we continue?"

"Before we begin," Tamiel spoke, his voice gruff. "I want to know something."

Samyaza turned to look at him. "What is it?"

"Why is he still alive?" he said, pointing his finger toward me. "Why haven't Satan and Morningstar come after him yet?"

Samyaza turned to look at me, and his smile only widened.

"Morningstar is not here," he said.

"And I am keeping Satan in check until Himmel grows strong enough to keep himself alive."

Tamiel's expression hardened.

"You're keeping Satan in check?" he repeated slowly, as if the words were physically difficult to digest.

"Since when," he continued, "has anyone been able to 'keep' Satan in check?"

Samyaza shrugged lightly. "He believes in me. That's all I need to deceive him."

"..."

A silence lingered within the place while I kept looking at Samyaza.

[<About Satan, I don't think he is lying.>]

'…I know.'

There were so many things I wasn't aware of.

But one thing I know for sure: I can't trust any of Azrael's siblings.

And that includes Samyaza himself.

Tamiel leaned back slowly.

"You're playing a very dangerous game, Samyaza," he said. "Satan is no fool."

"Of course he isn't," Samyaza replied with a smile. "But I always have a back-up plan ready."

Yomiel scoffed, rubbing the faint cut on his neck. "All of us here will die if Satan really wanted to."

Samyaza didn't deny the fact. He simply smiled.

"Anyway, back to the topic," he said, clapping his hands. "As I was saying, I want the Watchers back under me."

"And for what purpose?" Daniel asked with a smile. "We once had the purpose of protecting the children of Lumina, but what now?"

Samyaza turned toward her. His smile slowly died down.

"Don't you want to keep your life?" he asked, his voice serious. "Is that not enough?"

I quickly gripped the armrest as soon as I felt the killing intent he released for a split second.

Even Daniel was sitting frozen, her fake smile gone.

Her wings lowered just slightly, an instinctive gesture of submission, not respect.

"You say 'purpose,'" Samyaza continued, his voice calm again… but not gentle anymore.

"You speak like you still have the luxury of choice."

He looked at each of them, one by one.

Then he looked at me.

His smile slowly returned. "They should work under me, don't you think?"

"..."

I didn't respond. I just looked at him.

Samyaza…

…He was the only one acting like he already knew the ending.

Someone who looked prepared for whatever is to come.

Daniel broke the silence first.

"So we obey you," she said quietly. "And what then? We just follow orders again like puppets?"

Samyaza smiled. "I have a plan," he said. "Something that will keep everyone alive."

"And what is that plan?" Tamiel asked gruffly.

"I will tell you later," Samyaza spoke softly. "For now, as your old leader, I ask you to believe in me."

"...."

The silence lingered, and everyone's gaze shifted as Zaqil raised his hand.

"It's good and all but…" he pointed at me. "Why is he here?"

Samyaza's eyes flicked to me again.

"…We need to prepare him for what comes after."

Yomiel finally snapped.

"What gives him the right to be at the center of this!?"

Samyaza didn't even blink.

"He already is."

"..."

I didn't bother replying as I stood up from the seat.

Samyaza blinked at me. "You're leaving?"

"I don't want to be part of whatever you are doing," I said, glancing at him. "Make your own little team or whatever. I don't care."

I slowly turned my gaze toward the only female present in the place.

Daniel smiled softly. "Anything I can help you with?"

I turned to look at the woman.

"If I find you anywhere near my wives," I said, clear enough for her to understand, "then I will rip you to shreds."

Her smile didn't waver, but I wasn't in the mood to talk to her.

"Hey." I turned as Samyaza called me. "Take this."

He threw a card at me, which I caught between my index and middle finger.

I turned the card, but it was completely plain with nothing written on it.

"What's this?" I asked, looking back at him.

"My address," he said. "I would love to have you as my guest."

I was about to throw the card away, but I thought otherwise.

Maybe it will come in handy someday.

I put the card in my space as I created a wormhole and walked out.

---

When the light flickered in my eyes again, I was in my mansion once more.

I rubbed the back of my head as I began to walk toward the main hall.

The last two days have been chaotic, to say the least.

Christina, for some reason, has been far too sexually active.

And the problem is… she isn't stopping, even when she knows Nymeria is watching.

It honestly feels like I've been doing something wrong to Nymeria.

[<Learn how to deal with it.>]

'…It's not that easy, alright.'

[<Then learn to address the woman you want to cherish.>]

'....'

I mean, she isn't wrong.

Because I don't want to hurt one… I am passively hurting everyone.

I let out a sigh, already feeling tired.

The moment I stepped into the main hall, I saw exactly what I expected.

Christina sitting on the couch, and Nymeria sitting in the corner, trying to read a book.

Christina raised her head the moment she sensed me.

"Husband~" she said, her voice way too sweet for someone who tried to drain my soul for two nights straight.

I let out a sigh as she ran toward me and began kissing my face sweetly.

It would have felt good if only she weren't this aggressive.

I gently pulled her away as I looked into her eyes. "Keep your hormones in check."

Can't believe it's me saying this.

I didn't wait for her response as I walked past her to where Nymeria was sitting.

"…Are you okay?" I asked.

She didn't look up from her book.

"…Physically, yes."

Well, no comment on her emotional condition, I see.

"About the last two days…" I mumbled, rubbing my head.

Nymeria finally turned a page, slowly. "What about it?"

"I'm sorry, okay," I said, looking at her. "I didn't mean to—"

"You don't have to say sorry," Nymeria cut me off. "….I am nothing but a burden on you anyway."

Christina clicked her tongue loudly. "What happened to the arrogant Nymeria?"

Nymeria just closed the book slowly, slid a finger between the pages to mark it, and kept her eyes down.

That silence stabbed harder than any insult.

"Nymeria—" I tried again, softer.

She stood up before I could finish.

"I'll move to a different room," she said quietly. "You won't have to worry about me watching anymore—"

"Nymeria." My voice came out colder than I expected. "Sit down."

She looked like she wanted to protest, but quietly sat when I grabbed her arm.

I turned to Christina. "Come and sit down."

She didn't question it and gracefully sat beside Nymeria.

I drew in a deep breath as I looked at them.

"I have a confession to make," I said softly. "I love multiple women."
