Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World

Chapter 443: Hunter State

Ralph was turning into a true wolf and the process was affecting his mind for now. Bibi decided to take him away and keep him by his side until he calmed down and came back to his senses.

With Commander Bibi's superior strength, Ralph wasn't able to break free from his hold.

By the time Bibi was dragging his body out of the penthouse, Ralph had already transformed into a full wolf that was more than two meters tall.

Grey fur and striking yellow eyes were the defining traits.

As of now, Ralph was no longer a human, he was a real wolf.

With the limit seal removed, Ralph showed a power level equivalent to a top-notch tier 3 wolf.

Now that his body was released from its cage, the wolf system stopped glitching and the Law of Hunting flowed freely into Kael's body.

All the wolves on planet Kareem and on the distant arkship who had their identity marks on the Vassal Records received the dings of their system and were exposed to a whole new world.

Hunting missions, hunting targets, trophy tournaments, tracking, exchange features, chats. The wolves had access to it all.

Just like the lion system and the vulture system, the wolf system was specialized to the affiliated law of the wolves, hunting.

Gradually, this system would help mold their culture and traditions in the future.

There was no issue here, Kael had set the Law of Conquering as the dominant law like he did with Marcus. Every wolf right now would begin to instinctively see lions as superiors.

While Ralph was roughly taken out of the penthouse, all who were left in the sitting area were Zion, Ben, and Jocelyn with Kael and Priya.

"You three did well," Kael said while standing up from the couch and leaving Priya to lazily take up the whole sitting space.

The trio bowed their heads. This was the first time they were to stand before the king for so long. The rumors were true, his presence carried a certain weight that rested on the shoulders and mind of all who were close to him.

They knew because they could feel these weights and pressures subtly.

"What do you want as a reward?" Kael asked.

He walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window that was the main luxury trait of this residence.

Jocelyn looked at the guys, they looked back at her. There were many things they could ask for right now that the king would give them.

Status, resources, authority, power, freedom.

Kael had the power to give it to them and they had the right to take it.

Then, Zion sent a telepathic whisper to all of Jocelyn and Ben at the same time, giving them a suggestion that just came to his mind.

Jocelyn, the leader of this group, raised her eyebrows. But the more she thought of Zion's suggestion, the more she found long-term benefits in it.

Kael stood in front of the glass barrier separating the inside from the outside. The warm light of the sun fell on his chest and shoulders.

He had the urge to hold a glass of wine in his hand right now, but he settled for just keeping his arms behind his back.

He stared down at the city, making use of his vantage point to see the little humans down below.

His golden eyes scanned each of them, acknowledging that they were all going about their lives, unaware of what was happening in their world.

Jocelyn stepped forward, keeping her eyes on Kael's powerful back and blonde hair, "Your Majesty, can we ask to be part of the Primordial Wolf's pack members?" She asked.

This was Zion's suggestion and it was a reasonable one. He was prioritizing their long-term benefits over short-term rewards.

All of them knew that Ralph would one day be a very important person in Kael's eyes.

"He will need a pack, yes. I don't admire that lone wolf trait," Kael muttered for all to hear.

"Very well then. Meet up with Commander Bibi and relay to him your new positions. However, be reminded that you are not equals with the Primordial Wolf just because you were able to catch him in his limited state.

He is going to be more powerful than you, I advise that you pay heed and rise with him," Kael said.

Jocelyn and the others revealed elated expressions. It was just as Kael had said, Ralph would be more powerful than them in the near future.

This was an opportunity to latch on to his leg and rise with him when it was time for him to soar.

Besides, the beating they had given Ralph should have created some sort of connection between them that Ralph probably did not have with any other person.

A connection that Ralph might not appreciate once he finds out the arrangements they were making without his consent.

"Thank you, your Majesty!" The three of them recited at the same time while bowing unto their bodies formed a ninety-degree angle.

Kael waved his hand without looking back, "You may go," He said.

The three then left to catch up with Commander Bibi and Ralph.

Kael continued observing the humans walking to and fro in silence. Cars passed by and the streets in his vision were filled.

He watched them for an hour, reminiscing about his past life.

This place he stood right now, inside a penthouse and so close to the glass wall. Kael had never stood in such opulence in his past life.

*Sigh!*

Once he was done enjoying the view, he refocused his mind on the Hunting Essence he had siphoned from Ralph.

With the Hunting Essence inside him, Kael had a better understanding of how Ralph's powers worked.

It was indeed an amazing ability, one that was fit for a darling of the universe.

Apart from being a wolf with balanced stats, Ralph didn't initially have any special abilities.

He wasn't naturally stronger than other wolves, he didn't have wings, couldn't swim, and couldn't manipulate the elements.

At his base power, he was just a really dangerous wolf.

So how was he able to go toe to toe with Ben and Jocelyn? How was he able to create those clones? How was he able to camouflage so easily?

These were all abilities that Ralph didn't actually have, it was an adaptation of his Hunter State.

Ralph would be considered a normal wolf on a normal day but all that changed whenever he entered this so-called Hunter State.

The Hunter State was a state where Ralph would select someone or something as a target. Due to the nature of his Law, he could only select one target.

But this was the interesting thing; Ralph's body would immediately begin adapting to fit his chosen targets.

His body would adapt to make him a better hunter capable of hunting down his prey.

It was an incredibly flexible ability as the only limit to his power was Ralph's power level.

Depending on his target, he would just adapt and create different abilities and mutations on the spot.

So far, Ralph had mostly hunted regular humans or other were-creatures so the usefulness of his Hunter State was barely noticed.

He himself just assumed he was a special wolf with a high talent for hunting.

But when he fought Ben and Jocelyn, the Hunter State had to activate and adapt fast enough.

During the fight, Ralph had subconsciously selected Ben as his target so his body adapted to mirror Ben's abilities and known weaknesses.

The camouflage was an adaptation to Ben's brutishly reckless character Ralph noticed the moment that truck was thrown at him.

Ralph's body adapted to Ben's incredible strength, allowing him to match the War Wolf for a while.

Those glowing claws were a result of Ben's tough body which Ralph found incredibly taxing to injure.

Double eyeballs in each eye hole, spikes for tail fur, compact fur for defense, four ears for heightened senses, and a longer and more powerful snout for a greater bite force.

All these were the results of a hunter adapting to his prey's traits.

And the clones Ralph summoned were a result of him being entangled with Jocelyn at that time. Ben was still the target, irrespective of who was blocking his way.

So the Hunter State created clones whose sole directive was to continue the assault on Ben while Ralph handled Jocelyn.

A truly incredible power.

It was safe to say that Ralph might grow wings if his target was airborne, or he might gain the ability to breathe underwater if his target was aquatic.

In fact, he was already adapting to Zion when the latter forcefully possessed him. If Zabita had not arrived to set everything down with her overwhelming might, Zion might have found himself on the losing end.

The possibilities were endless.

Added to the terrifying senses, the new system, and the acquisition of another subordinate with strong potential, Kael had gained it from this trip.

One could only imagine what this power could achieve in the hands of someone like Kael.

"Just one more thing," Kael said, while refocusing his gaze on the humans below.
